Plenty of cafes in Matamata but most seemed down at heel or closed. Very pleased to have chanced upon this small place. Delightful young lady taking the orders and interesting mature barista. We enjoyed well made drinks and excellent muffins and slices. Highly recommended.

We have been there with a group for lunch. The main course was presented as a buffet. All dishes were excellently prepared. The main course was lamb. Very nice dessert : cake with home-made ice cream. Wines by the glass and beers are rather expensive.

My husband and I had lunch here. The tarakihi was in a lovely light batter and was so fresh. The chips were nice and crisp. A lovely crisp fresh salad accompanied it. The pot of Earl Grey Tea was also better than the usual. Staff...MoreHey Granny, thanks for your review much appreciated ,you can not beat a good feed of yummy fish and chips cheers Syd.

Ate here whilst on holidays and it was one of the best meals we had on our trip. Coffee was fantastic. I had the salmon salad and the salmon was perfectly cooked. My husband had the Thai chicken curry which was soooo tastey. Would have been nice to get a bit more chicken though as the portion size was quite small.

Matamata’s coolest little cafe. Serving great coffee, delicious breakfasts, lunches, and amazing home baking.!
Picked this place purely on the look of it after wandering up and down all of Matamata's eateries looking for a light lunch and were not disappointed with our choice. Service was exceptional and food delicious. We had a chicken burger and a southern fried...MoreThanks for the great review... we are glad you enjoyed your visit. Hope to see you again soon

Went here for a couple of drinks, staff were busy paying pool in the covered outdoor area, where customer's were smoking with the doors open into the dining area therefore causing the dining area to be very smokey. Seats indoors were super saggy. Just an uncomfortable environment.

Fez Kebab in Matamata is our favorite stop for an evening meal when traveling through Matamata.
The food is fresh, delicious & served quickly. Idea place for a meal break while on a trip.
Food can be eaten in-house or as takeaways.
P.S. Their restrooms are always clean also.

Please take note that we accept Visa and Master Card. There is a car park across the road from us, street parking and our building is wheelchair accessible. A small cafe (not restaurant) with a Hobbit theme where our customers can 'dress up as a hobbit' for a small fee per person. Please 'Dew Drop Inn' and experience our Hobbit pie, Troll Stack, Elevenses, etc and a good cuppa from our wide range of teas, coffee, water or cold drinks. Our prices are reasonable, our service friendly and we always strive to get it right for our customers.
We are pleased we stumbled across this lovely homely cafe. Miss 8 and I shared a pie as they were extra large and found it tasty too! Hubby had a "rustic pumpkin salad" which was tasty and filling. Lovely homemade style food with friendly staff....MoreLOL Brilliant. Thank you. We work our recipes out with grandma in mind. The wall was created as entertainment, so it's working. See you next time.
