The TV filming crew team caught our attention and we went in. (Photo attached)
The food was very nice and we had grilled cod fish. It was one of the best ever.

As Japan's cheese standards are a) not great and b) very expensive, I was a bit apprehensive but the cheese fondu was actually okay. the jersey-milk ice-cream is also something to definitely indulge in!

pretty busy, especially in the evenings, I'd recommend reserving (though I think you can only do it by phone, and I'm not sure of their english level). good value without being too cheap, and delicious, the menu is pretty expansive - one of my favourite chinese places here in Japan!

a cute little road station, with a large area for selling locally-grown produce (all with the names of who grew them printed on their labels) - including Jersey Ice-cream (so good!). toilets are clean, stocked with toilet paper (though only 3 western toilets compared to about 10 japanese - in the ladies room, anyway). not somewhere I'd be adverse to stopping at for a while, anyway.

以前テレビの旅番組でこの店を見て、蒜山を訪れた際に寄りました。うどんはもちろんのこと、ご当地グルメでもある蒜山焼きそばもおでんもおいしかったです。素晴らしい景色を見ながらのランチは最高でした。

一見山小屋風で蕎麦屋さんらしくない店。それもそのはず、ご主人が一人で3年かけて手作りされたお店。蕎麦は十割の手打ち蕎麦でメニューは、ざるそば・大盛り、あたたかそばの3種といたってシンプル。歯ごたえのしっかりした蕎麦を、刻み葱と大根おろしの薬味でそばの味をしっかり味わえる絶品でした。

「ホルモン焼きそば定食」を注文。
焼きそばに付けダレがついてくる。
まず、麺を食べる。香ばしさと旨味が御飯に合い美味しい!
次に、焼きそばの上に乗っているプリップリのホルモンをタレに付けて、御飯と一緒に掻けこむ。焼肉定食を食べてる感じ!
1つの定食で、焼きそば定食と焼肉(ホルモン焼)定食を一度にいただけ得した気分。
大満足。

30数年前に旧川上村内で仕事した際、初めて「牛うどん」を食べて以来ファンである。
鉄鍋→土鍋になったと思うが鍋焼スタイルは昔から変わってない。
鰹と昆布の出汁に、うどんの麺と、すき焼き風に煮込んだ牛肉を加えた感じ。出汁と牛肉の旨味に、すき焼きの甘さが絶妙に相まった様な味は、御飯にもよく合う。
遠方なため、再々行くことが出来ないが、5年に一度の割合で食べに行ってる。
