One of the most legendary alpine huts in Austria on sunny 1300m high above Bad Gastein, directly at the slope of the Stubnerkogel ski run and for decades a popular meeting place and known for its hospitality. In the rustic lodge with stunning flair and a large, open fire place traditional delicacies from the Austrian kitchen, fondue and other delicacies are served. At the end of a long day's skiing or for a break in between a stop-off in the heated umbrella bar next to the Bellevue Alm is recommended with a lot of fun, humor and cool drinks. Head up to the Bellevue Alm summit Station on our private chair lift. Once you have reached the top, you can toboggan back into the valley on the perfectly prepared Toboggan run (ca. 2.5 km. A special experience: a toboggan ride in the evening on the floodlit run! The Bellevue Alm guest house offers 12 guest rooms with shower / WC, TV, WIFI and some with balcony. Enjoy romantic sunrises and sunsets with stunning mountain views, high up with views of Bad Gastein. Pure nature! For all hotel guests the use of the beautiful old wood-sauna with relaxation zone in the opposite Schiefe Alm is free. Likewise, our guests may use the spa facilities in our 4-star MONDI-HOLIDAY first class Aparthotel Bellevue in the valley for free. In summer you can enjoy sunny hours on our generous sun Terrace or chill out on our own natural swimming pond. Getting there: You can reach us in the summer on a private road (by foot about 20 minutes away from the station), in winter only with our private chair lift.
I loved this place. We stayed her for a week and we had every time a great meal. The best however was the cheese fondue. The chef also came out every evening to ask us how the meal was and there was live music. This place was just fantastic I will definitely be going back.

Nice atmosphere, good food. Not as pricy as one could assume. We were three persons, ate good and had a bottle of wine for about 100 euros + tip

The Rossalm lies immediately above the valley station of the Stubnerkogel cable-car in Bad Gastein. It is easily accessible on the descent from the Stubnerkogel, or on foot, only a few minutes from the car park. Enjoy coffee or lunch on the large sun Terrace with a view over Gastein's mountain Panorama. In stormy weather relax beside the open fire with a glass of wine, or make plans for the evening over a drink at the bar. The Rossalm combines traditional wooden building with contemporary architecture. Built in 2010 to plans designed by Kuhn Malvezzi, it stands beside the meadows where the horses from the Wetzlgut resort graze in summer - hence the name Rossalm [Ross = horse, Alm = Alpine pasture].
...don’t go too late or the waiters will start vacuuming while you’re still eating! This happened to us even though we had a reservation for 8 pm. Otherwise the food was good, but perhaps looked much fancier than it tasted. Friendly service and very nice interior.

We went with our 3 young kids for a late afternoon drink. The 2 man band were great. They even got our kids involved on stage. They catered to all different nationalities and sang great songs. They had the whole place pumping!!!
Limited menu of burgers.

We had lunch with the kids, 12 and 14. The place looks very Austrian and they serve many of the typical Austrian dishes like schnitzel, goulash , sausages with sour kraut etc. But they also have really good salads! Try them if you want something not so heavy. We also had desserts and the special of the day was locally picked blueberries with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. We also tried the chocolate pancakes with ice cream. Both desserts were fantastic!
Perfect place for a long lunch!

Real authentic austrian place, very cosy, family-owned with fireplace, hunting tropheys and just a few tables. Not so easy to reach unless you go there by car, especially during the night, but sure worth it!
We were seven and ordered spare ribs which were simply delicious!!! Make sure you make a reservation and tell them in advance you want ribs, they'll be ready as soon as you arrive. With wine and water, the whole bill for seven was around 100 euros so more than reasonably priced. The owner was also very friendly, spoiled us with free schnaps and joked with us. Top restaurant choice in Mallnitz!

We walked up there one afternoon. It's a great walk. Take the way through the woods. The restaurant was very disappointing. First, there was one waiter for a completely full house. He was also slow, inefficient and didn't seem to want to serve us as we weren't local. Next, half our food didn't come but was still on the bill. The food we got was ok. Nothing special. There are some way better places in Mallnitz and Obervellach.
There was a great looking dessert we wanted to order but after the long wait we gave up.
I'd recommend enjoying the area, packing a lunch and maybe just stopping for a drink.

Honestly - you must go!! We went twice, and couldn't help comparing Restaurant zur Post to a very, very posh and very expensive restaurant in Bad Gastein and Restaurant zur Post was by far our favourite place for eating. Please don't judge it by the décor - you can't fault the service.

This hotel is an excellent choice to stay if you travel to the Mölltal Gletscher. It's a family-owned hotel, who are excellent hosts, very friendly and nice. The rooms are very cosy and nice, the meals are delicious and you can be sure you will never be hungry there :) The service is very friendly.
