We got takeaway from here after Reading stella reviews. It was the saddest meal I can remember having in a long while. Hot and spicy soup was revolting, both by smell and by taste. Chicken with green peppers had a peculiar menthol chilli taste I've...MoreHi sorry to hear that. But when did you order. What is your order details. I can investigate.

Highly recommend the deep fried chilli beef and masaman curry! After going to Thailand several times and recently coming back we decided to give this place a go driving from Milton Keynes just for this occasion the food was just as I remember it in Thailand! Portions where average size and prices where lower than expected. Clean presentable resturant with friendly staff. would recommend!

Food here is fantastic, full on flavours with a real authentic edge to it. Service could have been better when we came in, had to wait 15 minutes to get offered a drink ( it wasn’t even that busy) and when they did they managed to spill it over my son. Despite this it was still an enjoyable meal and we did get offered a nice drink on the house afterwards.

Nestled inside a five-star hotel surrounded by acres of parkland, the Wernher Restaurant offers a spectacular setting for every-day dinners and special occasions alike. Named after one of Luton Hoos most distinguished former owners, the dining room features marble panelwork, opulent fabrics and sparkling chandeliers that wouldnt look out of place in the Palace of Versailles. The restaurant was recently awarded two AA Rosettes and has been praised for its creative use of local, seasonal produce. Head Chef Kevin Clark specialises in modern British dishes like Dover sole with sauce grenobloise; roast breast of Guinea fowl with sweet potato gnocchi; and fillet of beef with beetroot dauphinoise. With exquisite food and flawless service as standard, the Wernher offers an unforgettable dining experience.
Three generations of our family had Christmas lunch here on 24 December. The staff [of which there seemed a vast number] were attentive and helpful. The surroundings are wonderful, especially the huge tapestries. However, the food was overcooked and tough, with the vegetables stringy despite being relatively tasty. Our 8 year old could not cut her hamburger. We felt the Cotes du Rhone was very expensive per glass = 7.95 [we live in France and know the price]! We would have given 5 stars were it not for the overcooked food - pity.

We bring the Arab world to Luton. Get a taste of authentic Arabic food to Luton. Desert's rose was the first shisha cafe to open in Luton in 2004. At Desert's rose you will dine on our carefully prepared Middle Eastern specialties, all in a peaceful, relaxed, yet elegant environment. We prepare the best middle eastern food, and we do so by using fresh products daily, employing traditional techniques in preparing our dishes. Start with our mezze (starters/appetizers) -- including our specially prepared olives, our "light as air" falafel, savoury sambousek, the freshest salads, and our famous hummus, which has been described by various customers as "a revelation, undeniably rich...Silky...And impossible not to indulge." You'll enjoy our popular entries, including delicately marinated and grilled meats, e.G. Lamb cutlets, lamb steak or lamb sheesh and why not try our lamb kebab. If you're not so keen on lamb why not try our delicious grilled whole baby chicken, chicken steak or sheesh kebab. To add that extra taste on our grills we use natural charcoal. Relax in our shisha garden and try our desserts; ranging from chocolate fudge cake to our tempting hand-made baklawa. We also make fresh fruit juices, special fruit cocktail smoothies, and traditionally-prepared coffee. We pride ourselves in providing an identical experience to the Hookah Cafes of the Middle East.
I have been visiting Desert's Rose for years and my experience there has only gotten better and better. With a relaxing atmosphere in the
restaurant and a live buzz in the shisha area, Desert's Rose accommodates the needs of everyone.
I've been to numerous middle eastern restaurants and shisha lounges in the UK and Desert's Rose has set an unbeatable benchmark for both. The menu delivers a wide range of delicious foods, shisha flavours and they even serve lots of yummy desserts and hot beverages - all at a very reasonable price.
I have taken friends and family from out of town to Desert's Rose for food and for shisha and they've gone back often. The best part is if you don't smoke shisha and/or don't want to be around it you can enjoy a lovely dinner in the restaurant only area. On the other hand
if you're looking for somewhere with fun, upbeat music and want to make new friends, the Desert's Rose shisha lounge will exceed your
expectations! I often go on my own with my laptop and with free wifi access I am able to do my work and speak to lots of interesting people
while I am there. Sometimes my friends and I even take our own board games in and play while sipping on traditional Moroccan tea.
On nights when the football is on there's a real buzz in the shisha lounge. With a combination of authentic middle eastern decor, dimmed lighting and comfy Seating there’s a real cosy and homely feeling about the place.
The customer service is like no other. The Desert's Rose team make everyone feel welcome and are very friendly. They go above and beyond to make sure you're having a good time and have everything you need. I
really couldn't recommend this place any more. It’s my favourite place for dinner and for socialising.
Thank you to Hamada, Tayeb, Yusuf, Waleed, Mahmoud, Idris and the rest of the team for making every visit to Desert’s Rose an enjoyable one!

Location: In the Luton Hoo mansion house
Atmosphere: spectacular restaurant location and looks
Service: adequate for such a restaurant
Food/Drink: on previous occasions I really enjoyed the breakfast in the Werhner restaurant. On this occasion, I wasn’t convinced that this is a breakfast in a 5-star hotel.
The coffee: in other languages, you describe this coffee as ‘aqua de castania’ or Schwerter Kaffee. Which is German description for a very thin brew. The name comes from the most famous porcelain Manufacture which paints swords on the bottom of each cup and if you can see through the coffee then it wasn’t good. Coffee is not great.
Food: on par with the coffee. Fairly uninspiring, potentially (I am guessing) pre-cooked and quickly reheated. I had a very sad looking backed tomato with my breakfast, the hash brown was over fried and dry. Sorry I can’t really point out anything that would make it worth coming here for breakfast.

A quiet mid week evening with only a few tables being used perhaps so it was not surprising that with so few meals being prepared the kitchen was not giving the spicing of the gravies sufficient time to thoroughly cook out and impart their full flavourings to the meal- sad really.
