With Family, Friends or that special someone Gaffney's Seafood Restaurant is the place to go. In the quaint village of Louisburgh on the west coast of Ireland, Gaffney's is situated just a ten minute walk from the local beach and a fifteen minute drive outside of Westport. We serve Seafood dishes with a twist, a selection of Pizzas, Pasta, Chicken and Steak. With a quirky interior, a flowery front of house and a unique atmosphere your bound to enjoy your meal.
We dropped in for dinner on a hunch. Apparently we were lucky to get a table, because people after us were told it was full.
There are only a handful of tables. The restaurant is on one of the major streets in Louisburgh, but since it's such a small town, that just makes it easy to find.
Service was friendly and fast. They got one of our orders wrong, but fixed it with a smile.
3 of us had pizza and I had fish (locally caught hake). The fish was delicious! Cooked to perfection and the portion was big enough to make me really full. The pizzas were a bit different from what we're used to. The crust was crispy and tasty, but the extra topping we payed for was rather scarse - one piece of ham torn up and spread across the pizza.
The conclusion is to try the local food here and leave the pizzas!

Open fire's and cozy snugs await you .Locally sourced food from our award winning menu are on offer daily in the shadow of Croagh Patrick on the shores of Clew Bay. Come and visit
We’ve been visiting Ireland for years and sadly by now, it’s only occasionally we find somewhere that embraces local / Irish produce (eg Greek salad served in an Irish pub is just wrong, and never ever tastes as it should) and is able to serve it with aplomb. Today however we did come across such a place, in Murrisk just before Croagh Patrick. The Tavern is exactly what a great country pub should be, cosy, welcoming, extensive choice of drinks, including locally brewed, lovely staff and fabulous food. Each dish on the menu sparked your interest as were all familiar favourites but with an extra touch of something special which showcased the best of Irish cuisine. Only sorry that not staying closer so could eat there again, but will definitely be back.

Saw their sign when on a cycle tour and diverted to find them. Discovered there was a beach nearby and had a wonderful swim admiring the view of Croagh Patrick followed by enormous mugs of tea and scrummy lemon drizzle cake sitting in the sun - absolute bliss!!

Great food, genuinely friendly service and oodles of selections make Louisburgh 74 the place to visit when in the Louisburgh area. We have been there quite a few times now and have never left anything other than fully sated. The fare is imaginative, beautifully prepared and presented, full of complimentary flavours and wholesome ingredients. The welcome is unmistakable. Everything is clean and constantly maintained. Ample off-street parking closeby. What more could you ask for? Highly recommended for quality and value. Open 9am to 7pm. They don't take card payments!

Recently reopened under new management, after extensive refurbishment and with opening 7 days a week, we decided to retry Ocean Lodge. We were very pleasantly surprised. The staff are still as friendly as ever and the fantastic view is still there. The food offerings are...MoreThank you for the amazing review. We really appreciate it and look forward to having you out at the Ocean Lodge again.

Visited here with a large group of friends. All in all we had a really enjoyable time however an error with one of our groups orders was disappointing and we had all finished our mains by the time she received her order.
Additionally I went to the bar to get a drink and I may as well have been invisible. It was not busy by any standard and the bartender (who was quite young) seemed afraid to look at customers in the face. It was quite frustrating this was at about 7pm.
The food was very good and the service otherwise was also good. On this basis I am still giving it a 4, it's better than a 3 but on the night in question it flirted with being a 3 or potentially less but I'd give the benefit of the doubt that they were just having an off moment.

Our host Catherine Powers could not have been more gracious. Her demonstration and talk about sheep dog herding was fascinating. She was raised on this farm and learned the craft of working sheep from her grandfather. Afterwards we enjoyed the music from the staff, picking up some Irish souvenirs and topping the visit off with a pot of tea and delicious scones. This visit was what coming to Ireland is all about - getting out into the countryside and meeting some really nice Irish folks with a great story to tell.

We dropped in here for coffees/pastries/snacks when in the area on a cold & crisp December day. There were nice options available & some of the dishes (which looked very nice ) were made to order. There was a couple running the restaurant & they were very welcoming & friendly. It's also in a good location, right in the centre of Louisburg, & surrounded by quiet countryside, Ruddy's was a vary welcome sight. We would definitely drop in here again when in the area.

We had one our most memorable meals here. Great food with perfect service in a nice cosy place. The restaurant is small and we booked in advance. You have to bring your own wine or beer but there is no corkage. The food was delicious. We had the mixed platter to start, and had lamb and linguini main courses. The food was light and we had a dessert each too! I know - we lost the run of ourselves...The total bill was Euro70 plus a 10 euro bottle of wine from the local supermarket. Worth the trip to Louisburgh for this place alone. Honestly!
