I had been told really great things about Spice and being a curry lover thought we’d give this a go. I did book but on arrival the restaurant was empty although it was 6pm so early.
Restaurant clean but cold so that was slightly off putting. We were shown to our table by a very polite member of staff and hubby and I ordered the Cobra beer on draft.
Quick Delivery of our pints and we straight away ordered.
Chicken Makyani for hubby was definitely not what he was used to it was so very sweet and bright red in colour.
I ordered the vegetable curry and pilau rice with both and garlic Nann with popadomms and chutneys to start.
Food was nice and as we learnt from the lovely bar man all chefs are different and one may be from Pakistan and another from Deli and they all have their own interpretations of western dishes so you will rarely get the same dish in restaurants.
All nice and tasty but not the wow factor we were expecting.
£41.00 for two mains with cobra beer for two and popadomms so not that bad.
A good curry house but not the greatest for us.

Firstoff, when you order a messy plate of bbq ribs, you expect wipes to be given. We were given nothing so luckily I had wipes in my handbag.
Secondly, they offer the worst coleslaw I've ever had the misfortune of encountering. Tasteless and disgusting.
Thirdly, I had a large amount of leftover chips and rice which I asked to be packed up along with my remaining enchilada, When I got home I discovered they did not include the rice and chips. I called them and they gave the reason as being that rice goes bad quickly and chips are hard when heated up. I told them I paid for it and I would be the judge of that. So essentially they cheated me out of food I paid for!
Add to the salad sweetcorn wasn't cold and was right out of a tin. Disgusting and outrageous treatment for paying customers. Run don't walk from this place.

The Tap Room is a unique venue for any event from Barbeques to Formal Dining. A working brewery with a Licensed Restaurant in a beautiful and historic georgian setting at Hilden House which is located in the village of Hilden just off the main Belfast/Lisburn Road. Enjoy a beer or two over a relaxed lunch or dinner in the converted stables of Hilden House.
Had dinner here Friday night past, was not overly fussed on the menu selection, and found it quite dear, give the portion sizes, and was surprised at the lack of vegetables with the main course and also the £1.50 supplement for cheese, again small portions.
Was not impressed neither was my son.
Would I return again. No

Located within the House Of Vic-Ryn
My husband and I called in here for breakfast this morning as we had both never been before.
We both ordered poached eggs and toast.
When they were brought out, not only was our toast cold but our poached eggs were also quite cold. They had obviously been sitting there for a while before being brought out to us. Not a great first impression. I sent them both back and complained that they were both cold.
They did however remake them for us and when they sent it out, it was fine.
Have to say, they had a great selection of scones which looked absolutely amazing! Will definitely be back again sometime to try these :)

By far my favourite place to eat in Lisburn. Food is gorgeous and menus change seasonally. Thank god they always keep the salt and chilli squid for starters as I have yet to find a nicer version anywhere else. Please bring back the caramel coffee baked alaska, it was amazing. I've even got my work colleagues loving this place and they're not even from these parts! 5 star!

Love this restaurant especially breakfast. Nothing quite like an Ulster fry, tea and a free paper to sit eat and chill out. Especially a Saturday morning early.
Lunch is equally good but can get busy. Survive is always fast and the staff very friendly. Really good value as well

I returned with my extended family to see how the Arora had maintained its standards.
My wife, son, his partner and I tried their full cooked breakfast (on offer for £4:90 pp. including tea or coffee. Excellent as usual.
A waitress from another cafe (that I use) had transferred to Cafe Thyme (bringing her excellent customer-friendly service with her).
Hygiene very good.
Leading directly, at ground level, from the Bow Street entrance to Lisburn's Bow Street Mall - it is "disabled friendly".
Convenient to the Mall's Multi Storey car park and to on-street parking.
Highly recommended.

Had been recommended to try for a steak and it did not disappoint, 30 years from I’ve been and the place has hardly changed, atmosphere and service was welcoming and efficient, starter and main were excellent maybe only slightly let down by dessert , all and all very good will be back
