Just 3 minutes from the Château Frontenac, in the heart of the Old-Port of Québec, you'll discover gourment cuisine worthy of the greatest tables in the world. Member of Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux, 5 diamonds AAA/CAA, Gault & Millau.
Restaurant Initiale is extraordinary. From the moment you enter you are warmly welcomed by Rolande and her outstanding staff. The dining room sets the tone for a special experience -- the service is impeccable without pretense. We try to go to this restaurant every time we visit Quebec City -- and are disappointed if we do not get there. If you love fine dining, this is a place not to miss! Chef Yvan Lebrun is a culinary artist offering original and beautifully composed dishes with creativity and finesse. On this visit, the degustation (tasting) menu was once again outstanding! Courses showcased flounder, char, scallops, foie gras, and venison followed by unbelievable cheeses, chocolate, and orange-themed desserts. The wine menu is fabulous and the sommelier excels at working to make you feel comfortable as you select wines together. Her recommendations are always spot on. Clearly, our suggestion is to go to Restaurant Initiale whenever in Quebec City!

Total EnjoymentIn the gourmet world of Le Continental, traditional cuisine is classical. Enjoy the perfect service, the great flambéed dishes that pay tribute to the delicious French cuisine. The Continental's wine cellar is most impressive with its board of famous selection of French, Italian and American wines. It offers a choice of more than five thousand bottles, four hundred different varieties from Grands Crus classés to affordable prices.
Let Continental was superb. So much so that we went there twice for dinner during this brief visit to Quebec.
The restaurant is charming. The waiters are very professional without being supercilious. The food:
you can tack the menu on the wall—throw darts at it—and you come up with a winner. Every time. Great care is taken in the ingredients. The waiters time everything to perfection. And it is done with French flair, in front of your eyes. With the ease that is seen in expert skiers, ice skaters, prima ballerinas.
Because they practiced and voila. Your meal.
Clothing:
Most of the patrons were well dressed. Except for some stragglers. If this restaurant has any 1 or 2 or 3 star ratings, it would probably be these fools.
Dress nicely. Why? Because you are not some aging adolescent or eccentric billionaire who wants to be ‘cool’ and defiant, and wear pajamas. You simply end up being...inappropriate. And then you wonder why others crinkle their noses, as they would to a homeless person on a NYC subway.

Quaintly situated in the heart of Old Levis, l'Intimiste is a sure-fire gourmet stop for anyone visiting the South shore. As suggested by its name, this reputable restaurant offers refined cuisine and service in a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The well-balanced menu is composed of game, fish, and sea food. On the second floor, a private room outfitted with multimedia equipment is ideal for any successful business lunch. The lounge side attracts a mainstream clientele in search of a contemporary menu or for a place for a drink amongst friends. With its stone walls and warm decor, the lounge offers a perfectly relaxed atmosphere. Greatly appreciated by many, l'Intimiste has become an essential establishment in Levis. Whether you are looking for an excellent lunch or an unforgettable supper, you will fall in love with l'Intimiste, and all at a reasonable price.
We enjoyed a creative dinner in a fun part of Levis. Service was very helpful as we explained that we were to continue to Montreal that night, and even though restaurant was busy, we were treated with consideration and care. Dishes were well presented and an interesting mix of tastes. Enjoy

At 17, rue Sault-au-Matelot in the heart of the Old Port of Quebec, housed in the charming Hotel Le Priori. There is a current and warm décor, the kichen is inspired by the flavors and fragrances from around the world. We have a large inner courtyard with garden Terrace in season, heated and protected from the weather.
Bravo Restaurant Toast! Outstanding dining experience in a special place that is tucked away on a small street in the lower city. The venison with juniper berry and blueberry sauce and Jerusalem artichoke vichyssoise with house smoked scallop and wild shrimp were standouts. The attentive...MoreThank you very much! Les Chocolats Favoris is a place that's jump on this soft serve trend, and they've done it well. There are many other high end soft serve ice cream places in the Quebec City area, but these guys are doing it right. The main advantage they have is location, being across the river in a quite town makes the entire ice cream experience a little more relaxing. They're also a little more reasonably priced than many of the other soft serve stores in Quebec City, which is a plus.
While I'm not sold on the whole soft serve trend, if you're into it, and in Quebec, you might enjoy making the trip to Levi.

Feels family run and caring. Had the sweetbreads and friend had escargot. Both dishes rank as best we've had anywhere. Probably less than 20 tables but quiet and intimate setting. Meal started with a fine spinach soup. Then an excellent beet salad with a magical cheese. Finally the main course, mine the superb sweetbreads, hers the excellent escargot. Too full for the profiterole desert offering but strongly tempted. Would go back again and again were we to live in Quebec.

La Pizzaio experience is unique and amazing. This is not your traditional pizza. They concentrate in the quality of the toppings, instead of the crust. The crust is quite thin, pizzas are around a personal size pizza and the cheese used is quite tasty. Their wine pours are quite generous and the service provided by the owner is truly genuine. Quite a nice experience during our stay in Quebec City and hope to return when we are back next year.

Paillard - Le Café-Boulangerie in the heart of old Quebec City. Fresh baked breads, viennoiseries, pastries, special coffees, soups, salads, gourmet sandwiches, gelato in the summer, also known for our macarons.
A mix of superb bakery with cafe ( no frying) .interesting toasted sandwiches, soups.lunch deal " soup with half Sandwich $10.50+t.". Quite busy lunch wednesday.toss up whether cakes excel over toasted sandwiches.

We went to this sushi because the reviews were great. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent. The chef cooks whatever ingredients they have in the restaurant. They make sushi rolls in certain numbers, so you order the number of rolls you want. This was a great way to serve rolls and the chefs were really friendly. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
