Lenggries is a municipality in Bavaria, Germany. Lenggries is the center of the Isarwinkel, the region along the Isar between Bad Tölz and Wallgau. The town has about 9,500 inhabitants. By area, it is the largest rural municipality ("Gemeinde") in what was formerly West Germany, and the 7th-largest overall. (All six currently larger Gemeinden are in Brandenburg.)

The Stie-Alm is my favorite place in the area riund Munich where i live and live to enjoy walking in the Alpes. After a more or less two hours walk after leaving the cabin i always enjoy to have some traditional bavarian dishes, sweet or spicy, sometimes both. And i love to sit and have a look to the sky.
Due to the distance it’s a perfect place to split a ome day walk into two halves.
Never stayed there overnight but this will surely come one day.

We had dinner with 6 people, everyone ordered something different since we wanted to try as many different dishes as possible. Every single meal was delicious and even the friends who did not have much experience with vegan food were delighted. Generous portions, very tasty and you don't have to feel bad about animals being mistreated for your meal because everything is either vegan or at least vegetarian. Amazing vegan chocolate cake for dessert. Creamy, fluffy and sooo good!

The atmosphere and service was excellent only surpassed by the quality of the food at both breakfast and dinner. If you have dinner there be sure to try the shweinbraten with dumplings and gravy. The breakfast buffet has everything you could want.

One of the best meals on our recent trip to Germany was at the Ratstube in the center of Lenggries. The owner/waiter was a friendly man that spoke limited English but did his best to explain various items on the menu. He even brought out a book containing a diagram of a cow in order to show us what cuts of meat would be used in certain dishes.
Our meal began with a complimentary appetizer of a vegetable quiche and a glass of warm blood red orange juice (which sounds odd but it was very good). As my entree, I ordered the filet of pork which was wonderful and was served with a delicious mushroom cream sauce and homemade spaetzle. It was worth every single calorie! My husband got the grilled salmon which he enjoyed as well.
The Ratstube's interior was charmingly decorated with knotted pine furnishings and red plaid fabric. In fact, if you didn't know better, you'd think you were in a cozy Alpine chalet. Awesome choice for a snowy winter's night!

The place was very traditionally decorated, a typical bavarian restaurant pub with loads of character. There were obviously loads of locals drinking and eating there on a regular basis. A clear sign that this was a restaurant which was well regarded. The first night we had grilled pork and spare ribs. The ribs were particularly good, the grilled pork was average. However on our second visit, we ordered the bunker steak and it was fantastic! One of the best steaks we've had for that price! The spinach and cheese dumplings we ordered weren't bad either. We would recommend booking full stop!

Having spent a long day trekking at the Brauneck ski, hike, and para-sailing alpine retreat, our group of 6 stopped by Eireiner's for food and drink. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and it's presentation. When we later looked at the website, we saw the dishes we ordered exactly as they were served to us. Hans-Georg, owner and chef, prepares excellent dishes that you might expect to have served up in a fine restaurant in Munich. This unpretentious setting adds to the experience and capped off a day that filled the senses to overflowing.

A bit off the beaten track, and a bit more expensive than other restaurants in the area, but well worth it. My husband had rack of lamb with au gratin potatoes and green beans, while I had the saibling(trout) with spinach and parsley buttered potatoes. Nirvana in both cases. We will return!

Cafe & Bistro

Great bavarian food, great service, great atmosphere!
My main spot at the Brauneck Skiresort! Typical bavarian cusine you can enjoy right at the end of the slope located right next to the godola.
Perfect to sit outside - even in the winter; they got heaters, blankets and Gluehwein to heat you up ;-)
A must visit if youre in Lenggries!
