Le Mans is famous as the setting for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the grueling round-the-clock car race. But it's also an ancient town, with Roman walls, a beautiful cathedral and plenty of museums to see. Car aficionados will especially like the Musée Automobile de la Sarthe, where there's a great collection of vehicles.

I tried yesterday this restaurant after recommandation from my client.
It was an excellent service, very good "Pavé de bœuf" in very thin slices
The dessert "brioche perdue" was good.
I recommend this restaurant BUT remember to reserve before reaching the place else you'll be disappointed.
Only one small cave (that is the best place to eat in this restaurant ;))
bravo for the excellent service with a smile and great behavior.

Had dinner on a Thursday night witnessed people being turned away. Foie gras starter as good as I've had anywhere followed by brochettes of beef for me and ham for her accompanied by a mushroom and potato mash. Pain Perdue to finish which seems to be popular this year, all in all a very good start to our holiday.

The decor is very sophisticated. The service is impeccable and the food to die for. Everything about this place is fabulous. Certainly on a par with Michelin rosetted London restaurants. Highly recommended. Reservations also recommended to avoid disappointment. If you re a foody make this an essential part of your visit to Le Mans.

I just adore Le Vieux Mans and La Baraque à Boeuf is The Best Beef House ever...
We were travelling from Paris to Bordeaux and booked a Le Mans airbnb just to return to this remarkable restaurant.
We booked in advance and on the day popped in to change our reservation to an outside table as it was such a balmy October night. It didn’t disappoint. The service was friendly and professional.
As before, I had (again) the most scrumptious foie gras to start. We both had the pavé de boeuf (as delicious and as tender as I remembered it from August 2015) with a delicious peppercorn sauce.
We enjoyed our meals with Saumur Champigny and also have some takeaway paper placemats for my lessons. Merci beaucoup et à la procaine...

This restaurant close to the Central Station is a surprise. Interior is nice but simple, and they offer two different 3 courses menus of € 19 and € 27. Not really a place where you expect something special....
So different here, absolutely quality food, simply delicious. On top of that very friendly service. This is the best price/quality level I have ever had in my life!!
I will be back next time I am in Le Mans!! For sure.....

After years of living in France, I had just about given up on finding a decent Mexican restaurant. Looking for a place for lunch on our way home from Brittany, we stopped at El Taquito - and I walked out smiling. The food is homey, with fresh ingredients, and very reasonably priced, the service is friendly and quick, and the colorful decoration in the small space is a bit kitsch, but who cares.
If I lived in Le Mans, I would eat eat here every week

I had been trying to find somewhere half decent in Le Mans and I was told about this place. The fact that it is heavily booked out on a regular basis is The the first key to learning that you are in for a special treat. We opted for a table on a Friday night which is apparently something that savvy locals have been keeping hush about. (So they can get a table) As this is a lunchtime only restaurant they open every Friday night and serve up the week's leftovers. You have a choice or you can opt for the Chef's surprise which is kept secret until it arrives on the table. This rule applies for the starters, main course and desserts. Some places are big on fish or meat or desserts but the genius of this place is that the chef is a genius in everything. Honestly every single dish I tried was exceptional. He is a natural and the staff are cool friendly and highly professional. Be sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

We visited this small restaurant on a very busy Saturday night, suggested by the host of the chateau we were staying. It was full of locals (which is always a good sign), but we felt very welcome still. The service was very friendly and fast. The food, with a focus on grilled meat, was good, although nothing extraordinary. A good place to spend an evening. The only thing to note is that the place is quite small and the tables are really squeezed very close to each other, leaving very little privacy and making the room quite stuffy. Still recommended.

Beautiful plates, tasty food, good service. Well worth the price that I would imagine isn't cheap (was invited).

The best thing about this Italian restaurant is that it goes beyond the pizza/pasta concept that we normally associate with italian food and provides a great and good selection of "assiette" (I'll have to use the french term that defines a whole sort of delicacies (ham and cheese) and veggies), that go really well with the wine served. Really relaxed and nice/cozy environment.
