Tabla Caliente

We were 6 adults who all had perfect flambé sirloin steaks with a great house wine. The chef (female) served us and also cooked the steaks in front of us. She was extremely nice and entertained our kids. We will definitely come back when visiting Las Palmas.

Deliciosa Marta

Reviewed By Minister-of-Food - Dubai, United Arab Emirates

We visited this place after Reading all the wonderful reviews on Tripadvisor.
First of all, it is close to impossible to make a reservation because they are either closed or never pick the phone.
The restaurant area is small. 8 tables for approx 32 persons with only 2 servers. Service is painfully slow and the only 2 servers they have are almost never on the restaurant floor (they are always in the kitchen), so the second you see them, you have to literally jump out of your chair for attention. Good luck if you get any. We served our own wine (because they were unavailable ofcourse being busy in the kitchen whilst we had to wait and wonder). Each appetiser was brought out one at a time until we finished the earlier one. Safe to say we did not want to live there for the night but they seemed to think that we wanted to be there for the whole evening. They don't have any vegan dishes and even their pescatarian dishes have meat (except perhaps for the octopus dish). So vegans and people with diet requirements should be forewarned.
They don't ask for allergies or spice levels so please inform them before hand. The dishes are simply Spanish dishes that you could get for 5 to 10 euros in a normal restaurant for which you pay a premium in this restaurant for the "fancy presentation".
On the positive side, the dishes seem well plated and designed and have very generous portions. The taste of each dish is nice; good to taste but not anything spectacular or something you would go back for. An appetiser could easily pass for a main dish although they are quite high in price. A dinner for 4 persons with a wine bottle, a water bottle, 3 appetisers, 4 mains and a dessert worked to approx. EUR 150.
Overall the only reason you would visit this restaurant is because you want to taste something like fine dining and pay more money, which the city of Las Palmas generally lacks - a good fine dining restaurant. I don't see what the hype is around this restaurant and don"t see why its so highly rated after the experience we had.

The Majuga is a hidden gem in the main shopping district. The service is open and friendly and always at your disposal. Several wines and cavas have been sold out after the "festives days", but we the recommendation we got did work very well. Good food and price performance - we will be back.

Tasca Galileo

Reviewed By Mosey1000 - Haverhill, United Kingdom

Looking for some authentic Spanish tapas and any did we find it. Looked on TripAdvisor for something special and there it was Tasca Galileo. Read the reviews and thought this sounds good. So set off to find this gem. If you walked past it during the day, no way would you think it was anything but a gastronomic gem hidden down a little side street. We heeded the advise and got there just before the doors opened and there was a queue. We just got in and a table. It is very small and first come first in. We watched as couples arrived up to 9pm and were turned away. . . But the food. . . Oh my word! Plain and not the best presentation, but the taste is something else. Started with grilled cheese and marmalade sauce, then duck and Argentinean curry sauce and finished with pork cheeks. . . So good. Washed down with a bottle of Rioja and a couple of beers. . . . Total cost €50. Money well spent. But get there before the doors open at 8pm.

The jamon was really delicious, melting in your mouth, with a nutty hint, but it was quite expensive - about 17 euros. We also had Pimentos del Padron, which were very good and the grilled octopus, which was pretty good as well. The atmosphere is quite authentic, people come here to watch the game and eat a few tapas.

This place was recommended to us, but although the fish was nice we thought 17 euros was a bit expensive. It was only accompanied by a couple of small potatoes. We found other eateries nearby a lot better with proper table cloths and napkins

We had our anniversary lunch at the O Soleil yesterday, absolutely delicious! To start, the tarta de atun and prawn with humous dish, both of which were superb. I then had the dorada fish which was perfectly cooked and my partner the pastela de pollo, again terrific. For dessert my partner had the homemade gateau breton which he enjoyed, although it was a bit too sweet. Coffee to finish and all washed down with water and beer. Lovely waitress, bubbly and fun! We will be back asap.

Que Leche

Tasty and fresh market food. A meeting place. A nice place to enjoy fresh food and fine wine, in the most charming district of the city.

Reviewed By Pjesen - Stockholm, Sweden

Was looking forward to go to Que Leche once more. Since last time, they said they had done something to take down the noice level and I knew their food is good. There were four of us, two who live and work in Las Palmas and fluend in Spanish.
We looken at the menu and explained that my husband was allergic to spicy food, containing pepper, chili, curry, cumin and the like. The waiter pointed out what to avoid and we ordered. The very first dish sent my husband into an allergic chock. We asked if they had any cucumber, as we know from before that this helps a bit. They had none and the other man in our party, rushed away to a store to by some. It helpt a bit at first but then my husband got worse. We rushed away again to a pharmacy and got some antihistamin and the chock slowly subsided. In the meantime the personell and Owner did absolutely nothing. Them didn’t even offer any apologies, we had to pay in full everything we had ordered and the owner, who was sitting outside with some friends, got angrepp and ordered us to leave, when we complained to her. This time all endes well but it tolk my husband a week to recover. We talked to a doctor and a health inspector and both ment that we should take legal action but we didn’t want to take any more time of our vacation to bother about it. Instead I write this here and hope you all take a warning. A restaurant like Que Leche, who treats their clients like this should not be able to survive. We will warn everybody of Que Leche and will ourselvs never set fot there again.

Visited this wonderful restaurant because it catered for a vegan member of our group. We were a large group of 10 and visited the night before we participated in Gran Canaria Marathon event. The owner was fabulous and cooked a special pasta for our vegan runner. Really beautiful food and we will definitely return when we run in the 2019 event

Not easy to find good food on a Sunday, but happily they were open on the first Sunday of the month; so we went. We arrived early (at 1.20) and although the doors were open and the staff inside (AND we had booked) we were asked to go away and come back after 1.30.
After that things just got better and better. A truly great meal, well served and properly priced. The wine was especially good, and good value too.
