Nine of us had a wonderful dinner. Mushroom amuse Bouche, followed by malted bread and a salmon starter. Then goose liver with cranberries followed by lamb. Rose and red wines from the beckar valley in Lebanon. Desert was a chocolate globe with hot cranberry sauce. Coffee and excellent service.
It was a night to remember.

Isa Camillo is a Meditteranean restaurant located in old bank building. Isa Camillo was originally established 1998, and totally renowated at September 2013. Isa Camillo's kitchen uses seasonal ingredients. Restaurant has also a wide selection of wines. Also a beautiful Terrace with a view to Snellman Park.
Walked in at 8pm on a Friday. A group of staff were having some food at a table near the entrance. Clearly annoyed we interrupted their meal, one came over and instructed they were full.
After pointing out the restaurant was clearly half full, we were begrudgingly brought to a table.
How can this even happen! Where is the management!
Nice food, but still deeply disturbed by the behaviour of staff and feel the management need to know.

The milieu is a very interesting and old-fashioned Viking milieu. Our family loved it very much. They don't use any glass dishes in the restaurant.
I ate the runemaker's game sword, which included grilled partridge, reindeer tenderloin, beaver sausage, leg of corn-fed chicken and vegetables skewered on a sword, served with alder smoked cheese potatoes, viking shield potatoes, roasted root vegetables, cep sauce, cranberry and juniper berry sauce, game mousse, tarred lingonberries and garlic cloves flavored with smoked paprika.
Besides a la carte dishes they also have a lunch option on weekdays. It includes a soup, a salad buffet, a main dish (a portion), bread, coffee and tea. For special occasions they also have the package of lovebirds (Haraldin ja Helgan Rakkauspaketti, 100 euros / 2 persons) which includes special starters, salmon or beef and special desserts. However, this package of lovebirds needs an advance booking.
We will return into this restaurant. Absolutely!

Specially I do love warm summer days when it's possible to escape to Kummisetä's Terrace. It has lovely, big apple tree (blossoming at May-June)+ sun shine during afternoon. The best combination is to have good company + lazy afternoon at sunny Terrace with good food served with well chilled white wine. Can't wait next possibility to enjoy this!!!

Bierstube is the one and only place my husband and I go when ever we have quality time of our own. After watching a good movie what would be better than have a quick dinner in Bierstube served with your favorite beer? Can't say anything about the wings because I always take Hunter's Sandwich which never let's you down. Still, I caught up myself envying other dishes, especially pasta.
One of the best thing, however, is that staff always helps you to pick up good beer for you. They recommend some new brands or something that suits well for your food, taste or mood. The only thing that is sad in Bierstube is that it is so small that you hardly get in or find a table for you.

Ooh, the cakes, pies and different flavours of coffee are just overwhelming and my choice, the pecan chocolate pie was spot on with a nice cup of cappuccino. Although there were a lot of people, we got seated instantly and our orders came fairly quickly.
The atmosphere is quite unique and you can just sit and let your eyes wander the pictures and different things they have put on show.

It is price worth and good quality to take a hot lunch at Houkutus. Located in the main shopping street of Kuopio opposite of H&M. The self-service restaurant offers you a wide variety. The special dishes (soups, salads) are reasonable priced(between EUR 7 en EUR 10). Many staff members, young girls and working quite inefficient. Toilets are clean. Internet didn't work properly. I took several cappuccino's in Finland. To me the one at Houkutus was the best.

Sorrento is hugely popular among the locals, I'd recommend reservation at least during the weekend
The waitress was cheerful and very knowledgeable, also very talkative even on eastern Finnish standards.
They serve really good food at reasonable prices, especially I'd like to mention ravioli filled with pecorino and fig.
We compared Sorrento to Divino, another popular Italian restaurant in Kuopio: there are no big differences, but pizzas are better in Divino, other main courses in Sorrento. Appetizer platter had divided opinions: Divino has larger plate, but pour too much balsamico over it, in Sorrento you can use balsamico if you want.
