Koroni or Corone (Greek: Κορώνη) is a town and a former municipality in Messenia, Peloponnese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Pylos-Nestoras, of which it is a municipal unit. Known as Corone by the Venetians and Ottomans, the town of Koroni (pop. 1,397 in 2011) sits on the southwest peninsula of the Peloponnese on the Gulf of Messinia in southern Greece 45 minutes southwest of Kalamata. The town is nestled on a hill below an impressive Venetian castle and reaches to the edge of the gulf. The town was the seat of the former municipality of Koróni, which has a land area of 105.163 km² and a population of 4,366 (2011 census). The municipal unit consists of the communities Akritochori, Charakopio, Chrysokellaria, Falanthi, Kaplani, Kompoi, Koroni, Vasilitsi, Vounaria and Yameia. It also includes the uninhabited island of Venétiko.

This is a wonderful (stylish) restaurant on a great beach. Golden sands and a clear sea ensures a great day out. We had lunch (6 of us) at the restaurant where the service was fantastic and the food was just delicious. Cant recommend enough!

Parthenon restaurant is a family business which offers home-made Greek cuisine using local ingredients. we also offer sea food.our kiosk is located at the harbor of Koroni
The positives: food was good and reasonably priced, there's a good waterfront location. The big negative was the poor service. During our meal we were constantly pestered by a very unpleasant looking cat with a very deep open flesh wound. Granted, this was not the restaurants fault, but the waiters couldn't be bothered to chase the cat away even though the sight of it was turning our stomachs (and the next table felt the same.) In the end my wife and I had to constantly shoo it away, whilst the waiters watched on. Cats waiting on scraps of food is (unfortunately) normal for Greece, but allowing them to put the diners off their meal and not doing anything about it is not acceptable.

Definitely a restaurant with a difference! Situated a few kilometres outside Koroni in a village on the main road from Kalamata this is traditional Greek cooking where you are invited into the kitchen to choose your food. No menus but do not worry as everything is set out in front of you.
Very hospitable family and great hosts with plentiful good food. Friday night is busy given the attractions of live music. Went 3 times in a week so judge for yourself!

It may not have a sea view however it was still my first choice after visiting Koroni again since 2014. They have a great variety of Greek traditional food. We had moscharaki stifado, aubergines with feta cheese and pastitsio for my older son. The portions are really big and the prices are fair. I really like the atmosphere of this restaurant.

I have been in Dodoni in Koroni many times and i have to say , i was always pleased from their service and of how friendly the people there have been . I have had waffles , ice creams , coffee and beers there and everything was always great and of course all that with the sea right next to you . An other thing that i like is that the management there is always doing a great job on making great changes on the way the place looks , every summer something changes and that shows to me how they try to keep the place nice and their service the best they can . I would give them 10 if i could .

I really enjoyed visiting this restaurant on our recent holiday to Koroni. The food was good I especially liked the kleftico. The service was excellent with a special mention for Panayotis who was so efficient and cheerful.

Had a perfectly decent meal here. Like all the restaurants in Koroni it offers a pretty standard menu - various fish, souvlaki, moussaka, Greek salad etc. You can sit by the waterside, which is nice. Service a bit haphazard. Not as good as Bogris2 or Peroulia.

Believe me, is the best restaurant / tavern in the area. You can enjoy local cousine, fish, meat, salads, fruits, wine etc, of the best quality. Most products are famous local products, like olive oil, goats, chicken, cheese, fruits, wine etc. Personel are very friedly and polite. Price very good and reasonable. I strongly recommend it and i am sure you will enjoy it. Believe, is true !!!!

We were referred by the Lagonissi Resort to this excellent restaurant. It's a quaint place on the harbor. The food portions are huge! We couldn't eat but half of our entrees. They were so tasty. The people are very friendly as well!

First visited this restaurant 17 years ago having discovered it in the Rough Guide. Have been going there every year since. It is a simple place. There is not a wide choice of food, but everything is freshly cooked and served with a smile. It is thoroughly recommended by all the family. We make it our first night and our last night treat, and at least a couple of nights in between! They do 'fast' food too - try the pitta souvlaki for a quick and filling bite. The liver and the chops are excellent. There is a butcher opposite, so if you order something that they don't have, they go across the street and buy it. Nikos speaks good English too.
