The Strand Bistro is located on the street next to Kilkee Beach near the center of Kilkee, Ireland (on a quiet bay). Kilkee is located on the western coast of Ireland in County Clare. It is about 40 miles west of Ennis Ireland and about 185 miles west of Dublin. While the Strand Bistro is a small restaurant it is also a small Bed & Breakfast (but I did not stay there).
I ate lunch here with my wife and youngest daughter on a Friday afternoon in late May and generally liked the experience. I thought this was a nice restaurant on the Ocean and is very convenient for lunch if you are hanging out at the beach across the street. To order you must get a menu from the bar and then walk back up to the bar and order. They gave me the wrong Sandwich but quickly made me another (but the server had to OK this with the manager first which I thought was weird – he must have been new). The employees were pretty friendly and helpful. They found my daughters purse (with her passport in it) and kept it safe until we could drive back and retrieve it. It was not very hot out so there were not many people on the beach or in the restaurant. I bet this place gets pretty busy during the summer. I just ordered a Sandwich and thought it was pretty good (but it is hard to mess up a sandwich).
Overall I thought my Sandwich was good and the entire restaurant was nice. If you are staying in or near Kilkee (or are hanging out at the nearby Kilkee Beach) you should stop by and check this place out.

The Pantry Cafe, Deli and Cookery School was established in 1982 by home economics teacher Imelda Bourke, and since then has earned a reputation as one of Kilkee's best food emporia, right in the heart of town. The cafe is open from Easter to the end of September and offers breakfast from 8.30Am, as well as lunch, soups, salads and sandwiches. All the menus feature local home-made produce and cater for coeliacs. At the side leading to the beach the deli caters for all your needs with cakes to die for and fish pies , Salads and Fresh Salmon , crab and healthy food for all your parties while holidaying in Kilkee. The Pantry is a member of Loop head Tourism and endeavour to use all local products , with Bridestone awards and Lonely Planet recommendations.

My husband and I enjoyed dinner in Morrissey's on Saturday night. He had the crab claws which were delicious and surprisingly large portion. I had scampi which were so tasty and again a big portion size. The staff were lovely and efficient. You can't reserve a table and they take last orders at 21:30. It is very inviting and beautifully decorated. They totally deserve their Bib Gourmand award.

Very good atmosphere, very friendly staff. I tried the seafood chowder, it was very good and hit the spot after coming in from the cold. My partner has the mushrooms on toast also very good. Tried the sticky toffee pudding, it was OK, not the best I've ever had, washed down with some green tea, overall a very pleasant experience. They have an open fire.

Myles'Creek Bar is a family run business on Kilkee main street, We are open every morning at nine am for breakfast at Noon we serve lunch and our full Menu is available including soups, sandwiches, teas/coffee and full bar service all day until nine pm. Live entertainment is provided every weekend with a traditional music session every Sunday night Summer and Winter
When in Kilkee one of our favourite things to do for lunch is fish and chips. As we had a few drinks at Myles Creek we thought we'd stay for lunch. Out of Cod? Out of Pizza? On a Monday in June? So we still didn't take the hint and move on we ordered the Fresh Soup and Brown bread. The bread is lovely. I would challenge if the soup was fresh. Very disappointed. Wouldn't recommend a restaurant that runs out of their signature dish. Not in high season. This place has been around for 20 years, and should know their business.

Had a super meal here last night. 37 women wanted to finish the kilkee season with good food and good wine The food was all served quickly and efficiently and was absolutely delicious. Our starters were smoked salmon, calamari, crab claws, mussels, and salad. Main courses were rib eye steak, scampi and chicken. All were delicious served with baked potato or chips, salad or veg and sauces. The staff were amazing and great thanks to the chef for feeding us all at the same time and to Elaine for making us all so welcome. Thanks for a super night.

Located on the beautiful cliff walk in Kilkee with breath taking views, serving breakfast, sandwiches, soup, chowder, pizza, fish & chips, seafood plate. All desserts are home made. Traditional Sunday lunch.
Chowder was just what we needed after a walk on the cliffs. The weather and the sea were wild and we just got a table by the window. Food was delicious. Plenty to choose from and for the kiddies. Good value. Busy spot but will definitely return the next time we are in Kilkee.
