Central Lodge Keetmanshoop Restaurant in January
Overall: nice lunch stop on the way to Fish River Canyon. Reception staff are not overly friendly.
Decor: restaurant is located in town and is part of the main hotel. It is very German in feel. Pine wooden chairs and pine ceiling.
Food:
Casual a la carte menu. We had T-bone steak, rump steak and oryx steak. They were all served on large skillet platters and served with chips and vegetables. Very tasty.
Wifi: yes
Helpful hint: bring hand soap for the bathroom.

The Penguin Restaurant with direct sea-views is the only full service restaurant in Lüderitz. It is open throughout the year and delicious local Lüderitz lobster, oyster and abalone, and Namibian dishes are served. Vegetarian and children's menus are also available. Lavazza coffees with fresh patisseries are available the whole day. Lunches can be enjoyed on the outside terraces with direct sea views. In-house guests are treated to one of the best full buffet breakfasts in Namibia (FREE for in-house guests).
The food was very good and the staff friendly and helpful. The day was very windy and it was lovely to sit inside and have a meal with the family.

This is the kind of place that gets a lot of traction on tripadvisor due to the likable atmosphere in the restaurant, but unfortunately it doesn't meet the expectations. We took the buffet and found ourselves eating overcooked stuff. We ate in the back side of the restaurant and in order to get there we had to walk through the kitchen. Normally an open kitchen is a good sign. This time not. It was really dirty. There are not many alternatives in Luderitz, but the day after we ate in crayfish bar restaurant and the quality of the food is way higher and the service is way better (only the service is slow).

The food was absolutely delicious. The staff and hosts were very friendly, accommodating and great company. We slept over only one night on our bike tour but felt right at home. Was sad to leave. The hotel has a great ambiance and is full of history about the area. Definitely worth a stop over to explore the area around Aus with knowledgeable guides available.

Coffee Shop in Luderitz, which also offers the Oyster & Wine Bar and small Restaurant! Open 7 days a week!
We ate here oysters with fries and kingklip with potatosalad. Fries had been on too cold oil, but other parts were perfect. Most of all we enjoyed oysters, which are so rare at home. Nice restaurant, we enjoyed. Coffee-section also looked very good.

We had an ecellent three course supper. The soup was fantastic, and the main course with steak and veggies, were well presented. The thatched dining area is very romantic and a really beautiful setting.

Our first night dining there I had the chicken schnitzel which was extremely tough and dry and the chips were over cooked and over spiced skinny fries. The second time we dined there, our neighbors an elderly French couple joined us. They ordered lambs chops which were inedible. I ordered fish ... which was edible but had no taste. The owner removed the lamb chops from our bill. My husband had the eisbein (pork knuckle) which was also very average. The crackling was tough and chewy, not crispy and could not be cut through.

On a long and dusty road from Keetmanshoop to Koës, the last thing you expect is a sign for a Coffee Shop. We follwed the sig toe Moer Toe (To hell and gone) and found a little gem in the Namibian desert. Excellent coffee, toasted sandwiches and cheese cake. Even a little shop to buy some presents. If you are in the Koës area, follow the signs, you will be surprised.........

It is quite easy to drive past the Canyon Roadhouse. It seems to be nondescript from the dirt road, but once you walk down the path to the restaurant a new world unfolds. Lush green grass with an amazing display of antique motors on the lawn.
Inside the restaurant it even gets better with a real 1960's workshop.
The food is excellent - especially their signature burger. Many beers are offered on tap.
