This is a really friendly place run by Alex who speaks and understand English well. He is helpful and thoughtful and takes time to explain all the dishes. He and his chef have a good sense of humour. And he has a wine list, something that is rare in Pamukkale, and it was a good one.
They are one of three eating places listed in Lonely Planet. Don't go to the other two (we did, but left as one couldn't be bothered to cook half their menu and the other has loud Turkish spoken radio).

Usually don't eat at restaurants twice during our vacation but this place was great! There aren't many options in Pammukale so after our first experience (which was great), we decided to come back again. You can tell the owner/cook cares about his food and takes time to make everything fresh! Try the Pizza and Iskender Kabap!

We had come to Pamukkale to visit the huge Roman site Hierapolis and the spectacular white travertines, a geological freak of nature that looks like permanent snow. At the moment times are particularly hard for the Turkish tourist industry and hotels and restaurants are definitely feeling the pinch so we took our time walking the streets of Pamukkale before making a choice of restaurant. The restaurant managers and owners were out in force extolling the virtues of their establishments in English, German and Chinese! We eventually chose the Mustapha restaurant and ate alone on the first floor Terrace overlooking the street. A great spot for people watching and the food was delicious, particularly the fantastic spinach and feta gozleme (a savoury pancake). the meal was not at all pricey even with three or four beers. We would certainly recommend Mustapha's but there are probably plenty of other places that also deserve custom.

We had a great lunch here. The owner was sweet and it was music to my ears when she said "we only have Asian food today, my Turkish chef is off, is that okay?" Better than okay! We enjoyed spicy Korean beef and bibimbap. She offered real gojuchang with the bibimbap, which was thrilling for travelers like us who have been on the road for a long time - when you see an imported product you know and love, it's seriously exciting. We also had nice iced milk tea. I loved the design of the menu. Highly recommended!

Extraordinary savoring of all the Turkish treats of tastes and views - plus Mehmet's inimitable hospitality: His bighearted smile still sparkles in my memory.

Scouting a restaurant to dine in during our trip to Pamukkale, our attention were caught by a lady infront of Yildiz Restaurant who's making "gozleme"-filled turkish flatbread. The owner, Mr. Fikret Yildiz welcomed us. We ordered for a chorba soup that tasted so good and served along with bread. Afterwards, the main course, the super delectable grilled fish. Wow, we're really so full. The owner, even served us for free of an "apple tea". As take out, we tried the restaurant "homemade gozleme with spinach". Thumbs Up !!!

After 3 weeks in Turkey we have finally encountered the tastiest most delicious local ‘home-cooked’ food to date during our trip. My wife and I are so sad we stayed just one night here in Pamukkale –it was almost worthwhile to linger longer because of this local restaurant recommended by our hotel owner. Walk down a few blocks past the main tourist restaurants opposite the white travertine and turn right down near the mosque. You will not be disappointed. Fabulous cold entrees. Sadly we had previously a large lunch and could not avail ourselves of a greater selection of their menu but even the tomato soup; stuffed aubergines with meat, salad, yogurt plus meatballs in tomato sauce were yummy. And large beers just 6TL of which we had 3. The whole meal set us back just 51TL. It’s not fine dining if that is what you are after but definitely scrumptious and economic.

We were referred here by a Turkish friend after experiencing what little Pamukkale has to offer in terms of authentic local cuisine. It ended up being one of our best meals in Turkey.
Tucked behind the metro ticket dealer in the center (and across from a kebab fast food joint), there are only 10 or so tables. The place isn't much to look at from the outside; but inside is welcoming and cozy. Surrounded by Turkish families finishing their meals, we pointed to the ones that looked good. We had the pide with chicken and another with cheese and mushrooms, followed by a casserole. For the price, we couldn't believe how good this was.
By the end of the meal, we were so happy with the food (and continually stating this to our server, Rashid) that the owner came out to greet us himself. Between our little Turkish and his little English, not much was said other than thank you! After being treated with fresh grapes for dessert by the warm-hearted Rashid, we left wanting to immediately put this place in every Pamukkale restaurant guide there is. But other than TripAdvisor, we're not sure how to go about it!
I recommend this place to anyone heading to Pamukkale to see the Travertines (and/or Laodicea). It looks like their main address is in Denizli but the restaurant is in Pamukkale on Traverter Sk. To find it, look for the big Metro dealer office right in the center of town. If the main entrance (not the side one) is on your right, walk up the small hill that's to your right. Keep going about 20 meters or so, and you'll see Pamukkale Restaurant on the right (on the corner of Traverter and Traverten). Big gray greek-style writing at the top, all glass windows, a large wood stove in the back, and smiley Rashid behind the counter!

Great and home made food. The owners (a family) are very kind and nice and the place cosy, but also elegant. Definitely a place to go
