I adore Asian food. After Reading many excellent reviews I was looking forward to visit this very popular Chinese restaurant in Moste, about half an hour away from Ljubljana.
The service was very friendly, we especially liked talking to the very hospitable owner.
The food, however, was unfortunately far from Chinese.
We tried to order several dim-sums, but we were discouraged by the waiters who told us it would take forever to get them during very busy hours in a crowded restaurant.
We ordered their special Hong Kong spring rolls and the mixed plate. The spring rolls were rather dull and a bit burnt. There was only fried food on the mixed plate. The won-tons were inedible, the tempura was OK and the spring rolls were burnt. There was also some shrimp chips. We did like the cabbage.
The lettuce and the cucumber salads were both perfect.
We did like the beef in black pepper sauce and the Mongolian chicken.
But, the rest of the food was unfortunately barely edible.
The duck was beyond dry and the accompanying vegetables were completely tasteless.
Spicy eggplant is one of my favourite Chinese dishes. Here, the eggplants were fried and drowned in the same tasteless vegetable sauce as the duck. There was not a trace of a chilly in the dish.
Probably the worst dish was the spicy stir-fried asparagus. The asparagus was neither spicy not stir fried. Otherwise nice pieces of asparagus were cooked in a transparent gelatin-like sauce with no taste at all.
I must say that the owners are trying hard. They are very friendly, the portions are very generous and the place is very clean. Also, the prices are reasonable.
But, they try too hard to satisfy the average Slovenian taste. By doing so they completely destroy several most delicious Chinese dishes.

Small pizzeria which was a bit difficult to find but worth the effort. The pizzas tasted very good and the size were more than enough. One person in our group said that it was one of the best pizzas he has ever eaten. Also prices were good, not expensive but perhaps not cheap either. The staff were very friendly and created a nice family-feeling.

The pub Marjanca is known and recognized by domestic Slovenian cuisine - food of our grandparents. You can taste Slovenian local food, prepere in the best way, and drink slovenian wine. Just take your time and enjoy. And believe me you will not be unpleasantly surprised when you get invoice.

The restaurant offers you the chance to relax and enjoy a friendly and homely ambient with excellent cuisine. On warm sunny days, you can sit in the garden and enjoy the Sun's rays, or you can hide away in the shade of the atrium surrounded by greenery and flowers.
Little restaurant in the old city centre of Kamnik. Unfortunately, not the top place to it, food is ok, but nothing more than that, you feel sometimes, that you are sitting in someones livingroom, especially when sitting in a room, facing main street. Maybe appropriate place for a lunch break, but not for having dinner....

Local food
Main chef, owner, maddam herself is very kind. We were with two kids and we were very hungry. Food was well prepered and tasteful. Price is midrange. I would recommend this nice place for a lunch for families, couples and bussines meetings. Worth stopping by!Thank you.

In the middle of town, tucked away on a small square a short distance from the main street is this place, the best place to eat in the center of town. The owner prepares wonderful Slovenian food. The veal with the cheese/mustard sauce was one of the best dishes I had on my three week trip to that country. Not expensive.

Nice small place with a lot of local craft beers and friendly stuff. They also serve guinness on tap. Great local bar to grab a good beer and hang out.

Burger restaurant with love for food. We offer quality beef burgers with Slovenian meet, grilled in ceramic charcoal grills. Our specialites are burgers and steaks with high quality local ingredients. We also offer a large number of different local craft beers.
We went to 7 Burger because we were hungry and were craving some burgers. They offer a lot of burgers, but only one of them doesn't contain meat so there isn't a lot of burgers for vegetarians of vegans. I also loved the fries! We were waiting for food for around 15 minutes.
