We had another lively week in Antigua and eat again twice at Melini's although we were actually at the nearby all inclusive resort (we know as the penitentiary)!
Mark and Adrian did us proud yet again with remarkable, authentic Italian food and wine.
You have to go there.........go! You won't regret it!

Came into Antigua on a cruise ship and wandered the streets of St. John’s where upon I came upon this wonderful taste of the Caribbean. Being a Trinidadian and finding a roti shop was quite a find especially in Antigua. As I entered the business I was taken back by the menu; doubles, aloo pie and Rotis. I was in heaven. I ordered doubles and aloo pie along with a shrimp roti. Doubles were cooked perfectly; light bara and filled with curried chickpeas; hot sauce was a nice finishing touch. The aloo pie was nicely seasoned and very filling. The roti which was the high light of the meal was full of potato (aloo) and curried shrimp. The roti was so good that we ordered a chicken roti as well; consisting of boneless chicken and chickpeas with potatoes in a wonderful curry sauce. $10 for the shrimp roti; $5 for the chicken roti and $2 each for the doubles and aloo pie. Close to the cruise ship port; walking distance 10min.

Sheer Rocks philosophy is simple. fresh ingredients, local produce. casual dining with discrete yet super friendly service. quality wines, inventive cocktails. sultry lounge beats & crashing waves. day beds for lounging & a plunge pool for chilling. a unique tapas menu & a romantically cool & stylish retreat for dinner. a british chef with tons of passion & probably the best bartender in the caribbean. sheer rocks is an experience ... enjoy it responsibly...
Setting and views amazing, food was good ! Curried seafood tasted fantastic -Mahi Madhu was cooked to perfection warm quinoa Kale and feta was cold ! As was the service, service was intermittent attentive for some folk and not for others. Be warned they do not accept ECD via card payments it is linked to USD only with no other option, the exchange from ECD is fixed and does negatively affect the cost of the meal it spoilt what could have been a great meal ! Complaints are not dealt with well especially the management Ah well you live and learn! Better places on the island can be found for better food and better value

Last evening my husband and I dropped by for the 2 for 1 pizza night. We were warned that it is hard to get in, but we are visiting from the states and don’t have an international phone. Therefore, we were attempting unsuccessfully to make Reservations by email. The hostess took pity on us and squeezed us into a tiny table so that she didn’t have to turn us away. We were certain the service would be slow since they were already packed. To the contrary, the servers worked as a team making sure everyone in the restaurant - including us were accommodated.
My husband had the Napolotino (basically cheese pizza with anchovies). I got the Diavlo - sausage, pepperoni, jalapeños, etc. What a treat. We started with the Caprese Salad and it was lovely. We also have enough for lunch on the beach today.
This is our third visit to Antigua and our first to Al Porto. We truly have been missing out. Before we left we made a reservation for Monday night. Live Music night.

3rd time return trip to Antigua with my best friend and we couldn't be happier to be back at Akropolis. Absolutely the best meat platter on island, especially the lamb shank:) The family who own the restaurant were happy to welcome us back and as always made us feel at home with excellent and attentive service. MUST TRY WHILE ON ISLAND- will not dissapoint!

We have been eating here every year since they opened. We look forward to our return trip each year, and always eat here our first night in Antigua, because it is close to where we stay, consistently great food, and relaxing for a first night dinner. It is true, as some complaining reviewers have said, that it can be a bit of a wait sometimes, but our experiences have been this is more rare than regular; and, after all, we are dining on Antigua time. If one is concerned about that, make your reservation an hour earlier, and chill and chat waiting for your excellent food. We have never had a disappointing meal at Miracles. This trip we ate there on January 24 and again on February 5, two nights before our departure. Both times we were served promptly, GOOD SERVICE, and the food was great. We both opted for fish, even though my wife is not a big fish eater. We had it grilled and it was excellent. I do recommend that one experience the local flavor...so, do order the fresh catch, and grilled means you taste the real fish rather than a heavy sauce on it (here or elsewhere). Dinners include two sides. If you are dining as a couple, order a total of four different sides and share them. Our recommendations are the slaw, potato salad and the (MUST!) macaroni pie (vs the macaroni salad), then add a fourth of your choice. Prices are reasonable for the island. Always remember that a good dining experience can be enhanced to a great one by carefully choosing what you order and what goes together re: taste and appearance. Whet your appetite and you will not be disappointed.

WOW! Do yourself a favour while visiting St. John's Redcliffe Quay and choose your favourite flavour ice cream here at Fred's.
Soooo creamy and fresh made! The waffle cones are amazing and freshly made. Best ice cream that has ever passed our lips!
You will know when you are getting close, just follow the sweet smell of the waffle cones being made!
Enjoy!

LIVE MUSIC EVERY THURSDAY FROM 8.00 A bright red original 1959 London Double Decker bus. Located next to Sugar Ridge Hotel and just a 5 minutes walk from Jolly Harbour this icon is impossible to miss. The bus has been completely renovated and provides Seating for 40 guests. We did our best to maintain the historic integrity of this British classic. Or sit outside enjoying the breeze in our lush tropical garden. Delicious fish, crispy chunky chips, homemade mushy peas and tartar sauce and finally some pickles give you the classic fish & chips experience. Beyond that we serve shrimp for those who are less into fish we are happy to offer succulent sausages and rotisserie chicken with any of our side dishes.
Visited here a couple of times while staying in a villa just opposite. Like everywhere in Antigua it is very expensive compared to UK prices, but the food is freshly cooked and good quality, and the service friendly. We were staying in low season and the place was run by just a single guy. That’s fair enough as there weren’t the customers to warrant more staff. However the food and the experience didn’t quite live up to billing on their website. One of the problems with ordering ‘fish and chips’ is that you can never be sure what type of fish you are going to get. The first time we it was some kind of flat fish, the second something more like haddock. Both though were good. The chips too were fine too but not what I was expecting. They were not chunky and crisp as shown in photos on Tripadvisor, but looked more like frozen French Fries. Maybe this again was because it was low season? Portion sizes are a little on the small side for me, but overall this was a pleasant enough place to eat if you are passing.
