We were new to town, passing through...a local friend suggested this restaurant...they didn't disappoint.
Hubby and I had Sweet and Sour & Chicken and Cashews, plus a fried rice...both flavoursome and filling meals (with enough leftovers for brekky the next day ;) )...for about $50.
Polite service, too.

Busy bistro serving Aussie favourites and with a proper pizza oven
We have eaten here before when we have stayed at the RSM motel and have been content with our meals but the quality has deteriorated considerably since our last visit.
I ordered the roast beef and was served dry, stringy beef covered with gelatinous gravy and over cooked vegetables- it was a Monday night so they had obviously been left over from the weekend.
My wife’s meal, fish, was uninteresting and tasteless.
Not a good experience.
While waiting for our meals to arrive we watched the staff at work- the pizza cook did not wear gloves and handled all the ingredients after walking around touching various doors and surfaces without washing his hands, the lady cooking on the outer hot plate spent a lot of time on her mobile phone which lived in a deep placket of her trousers, she did not wear gloves or wash her hands between calls and we were horrified when the other chef(cook), who also did not wear gloves wiped below his nose with the back of his hand but failed to wash his hand before returning to his duties.
Sorry I won’t be eating here again

Fresh, Healthy Thai Food
We ate here as an alternative to the standard RSL/bowling cub food.
We were seated quickly and the waitress only gave us a few minutes before she was back for our order.
Our green curry and red curry were ok but not memorable.
An alternative to the club food which dominates Australian country towns but I doubt this restaurant would survive in the competitive world of restaurants in Sydney and certainly would struggle in Thailand.
Won’t return in a hurry.

We popped into Fe Fi Fo for a late breakfast on a sunny Inverell day and we weren't disappointed. The coffee was superb and it was quickly followed by our delicious breakfasts. I was hoping to leave room for one of Alex's fantastic pastries; however, I truly sated after devouring the wonderfully chewy fresh bagel filled with roasted veggies and fried Haloumi cheese - to die for! My wife had the vegetable and feta filo wrapped parcel and she thoroughly enjoyed every morsel. Mark this restaurant on your 'to do list' for lunch or a coffee when shopping in or travelling through Inverell in the beautiful New England Region of New South Wales.

The Royal is possibly Inverell's least attractive pub, so the restaurant out the back comes as a surprise. You can enter via the main bar and through a cavernous entertainment space, but the side entrance from the car park takes you past the water feature which is illuminated at night.
Inside there's a mix of tables and banquette Seating, a bar with numerous wines by the glass, professional staff and a menu that is at least two steps above pub standards. It's a world away from the front bar.
We started with duck spring rolls ($14) to share - a menu item I haven't seen since the George in Ballarat some fifteen years ago - followed by lamb cutlets ($17 for 2 or $20 for 3), a surf 'n' turf ($29 with surf, $24 without) and fish 'n' chips ($10). The spring rolls were small-ish but all duck in a lovely flaky pastry with a Peking-style hoisin dipping sauce; the lamb cutlets were the freshest I've had, juicy and perfectly pink; the surf 'n' turf, which I have scoffed at as a 1970s abomination but now consider an entree and main in one, was topped with three succulent prawns and two big fresh Hervey Bay scallops tossed in parsley and garlic butter. Vegetables, chips and salad were fresh and generous.
The wait staff were more than helpful. My hesitation about ordering two wines by the glass and not knowing how long the bottle had been sitting on the shelf was met with an immediate offer to fetch a new bottle from the bottle shop. In the end, we opted for a bottle, which appeared on the bill at bottle shop prices ($18!).
I don't know how this restaurant can serve food this good at such low prices, but I hope they keep doing it.

Was delighted with everything about this little treasure.....from the "UNO" table numbers to the lovely little inspirational sayings on the table to those on the walls. The food was reasonably priced and the service was exceptional. The establishment was also extremely clean. It was also lovely to witness the "regulars" being greeted like old friends.

This was the second time I'd dined here. Decided to try this place out after Reading the good trip advisor reviews and was not disappointed. Highly recommend the Curried scallops (entree). I had the eye fillet the first visit and the pork cutlet tonight which were both delicious. Cooked perfectly, meat was tender and the vegetables/salad were fresh. Friendly service. Cosy fine dining restaurant. Will be back again =D

This is a great country pub with "oversized" counter lunches. A business associate and I had lunch at the Australian Hotel - I ordered the fish, chips and salad. The piece of fish was enormous (fillet of one side of the fish) large serve of chips and salad from a salad bar. The meal was so large I couldn't finish it. Typical pub food but great quality and value.
