I had Italian dinner with my wife. We both ordered Cena-B dinner course menu (Starter/Pasta/Maindish/Desert/with Amuse, Coffee, Biscotti" and Non-alcoholic cocktails, "Blu" for me and "Bianco " for my wife, "King Ruby Melon and Parma Prosiutto Ham" for me and "Smoked Salmon and Semoule Salad with Ikra, Tomato Puree and Basil Sauce" for my wife as our starters, "Tagliolini with Matsutske Mushroom, Shrimp and Sudachi" for me and "Spaghetti Peperoncino with Cuttlefish and Celery, Shirasu, Basil Flavor" for my wife as our pastas, "Kuroge-Wagyu Round Steak" for me and "Grilled Fish, with Corn Puree and Balsamic Vinegar, Caponata" for my wife as our main dishes, and "Macedonia (Four Kinds of Grapes) and Panna Cotta with Lemongrass Flavored Sorbet" and Coffee for me and "Peach Roll Cake and Compote, with Yogurt Gelato" and Tea for my wife as our desserts. A bit expensive and dish's names are too long, but delicious as well as beautifully presented. You might want to make a reservation to ensure your window-side table.

This place is one of the most famous cake shops in Tokyo. They have many French cakes and a few breads. It takes 25 minutes from Kichijoji station. We can't eat here and only “to go”.
The most popular cake is Mont blanc (chestnut cake). It has rich chestnuts taste. My favorite kind of cake is chocolate mousse cake. The cake tastes not only creamy but also rich and a little bitter.

I totally recommend this restaurant 100% for the variety of tofu dishes and for their distinct atmosphere. Yes, it is a chain restaurant, but not all locations have the old charm and ambience like this one has. Highly recommended destination for those especially on a business trip in the Tokyo/Yokohama area only for work and don't have much time for play, and want to experience something other than the busy city life.
Actually, tofu dishes are a type of cuisine here in Japan, but this place has the added old charm of Japan, feels like you are in another world.
It is also the perfect place to go if you are a vegetarian traveling in Japan and having a hard time finding places to dine during your stay.
However, if you are not a huge fan of tofu, don't worry either.
Tofu is not the "boring tofu" that you probably have in mind, plus they have some meat, seafood too in some of their course menus!
But it isn't all that cheap either, but I would say it is totally worth the experience.
Last note, to get here by train, take the Denentoshi Line and get off at Saginuma Station.
From there, go to the south exit, you will see a Tokyu supermarket in front of you.
Walk up the hill? to your right, you can't miss it, it will be across the street. It is only a short 3 minute walk from the station.

after visiting their Taiwan branch i must admit i was disappointed.
the price was higher than Taiwan and less dumplings.
however i must add that this and a few other branches in Japan are their official branches.
this may be the reason for my disappointment, as i wanted to experience the same as Taiwan.

10 mins walk from Ghibli museum along Inokashira park to Kichijoji station locates this beautiful Yakitori restaurant with spirited way atmosphere .
Always packed and cramped , no space between next table , smoky like hell and noisier than outside would be a compliment for this restaurant .
For those coming to this place searching for a real classic local restaurant but not tourist-oriented one I would recommend to have a try of some Shumai(pork dim sum ) and Moriawase ( random selection of Yakitori ) here , and some beer maybe . It will be an easy and excellent experience .

I patiently queued for a table and was led to the second floor of the restaurant. You have to take off your shoes before you go up the staircase. While waiting my order, I was served a refreshing green tea. The waiters are fast and efficient and can understand English so they can give you suggestions on what soba to order. I had the Soba noodles topped with with shrimp tempura. The price was quite expensive but okay for a first timer like me. You will also get to squat on the floor while eating. Truly a traditional Japanese dining experience.

They don’t serve dinner anymore. Food and environment are both awesome , especially the cold soba. In Chinese google search, it’s “玉乃屋”. No English speaking staff, no English menu. It’s better to search the pictures you would like to order and show them.
