We chose the Ammersee-Hotel for a business stay not only due to its location next to the Ammersee (lake), but also due to the good reviews of its restaurant.
We were not disappointed. The service was very friendly and attentive, addressing the demanding needs of colleagues in a very professional and satisfying manner. Our waiter recommended the wild boar dish with black salsify, potato gratin and cranberries, which turned out to be an excellent choice. As dessert we were offered to share two pans of "Kaiserschmarrn" (which came with a selection of ice cream, apple sauce and cherry sauce) among the group as alternative to selecting desserts individually. This was a very good recommendation and contributed to the overall success of this business dinner.
Great place to dine (and stay)!

Nostalgic elegance meets zeitgeist at this Fünf-Seen-Land gem. Lovingly restored, this listed farmhouse harmonises nostalgia with 21st century comforts. The hotel is idyllically located on the small river Kienbach an on the pilgrimage path to Andechs that is fondly referred to locally as the „Holy Mountain“. The appointment of the ten individual and elegant rooms draws heavily on natural materials making them an oasis of wellbeing. Confident use of colour, form and materials has bestowed a very personal feel to the rooms whilst still focusing on the elegant synthesis of old and new. The Fünf-Seen-Land has a wealth of culinary delights for guests to discover. The chefs of the Chalet am Kiental conjure up a wide range of light, classic international dishes with their own trendy and refreshing twist whilst making full use of local produce for their unusual culinary creations.
This restaurant was a real treat: lovely, imaginative dishes paired with specific wines. The proprietor served us and explained the food and wines very clearly (in very good English). This place is well worth the drive out from Munich. The surrounding countryside is very attractive as well.
I cannot tell you whether the restaurant represents good value for money as my generous friend, who took us there, insisted on paying. The quality of the food however made me think that even at a high price you would come away feeling you had obtained value for money.

Unusual little restaurant - like a vinotheke, but with interesting appetizers and delicious main courses. Good wine selection and super friendly efficient service. A treat to be repeated, even if you need to bring a little time.

The atmosphere is good and the chairs comfortable, big menu with a lot of choices but not everything is fresh cooked. The salad was fresh and the dressing good. I ordered a steak but the waitress didn't bother asking me how much "done" I would like it, the taste was okay but it clearly wasn't fresh cooked, just warmed up, the same with the side dish.
I will visit again but only for salad and the view, never again for steak.

We visited here to have a lunch. The place is in front of Ammersee which was really nice place to have a open-air lunch. Seeteufel was simply great Bayerish food (I separate it from typical German food) which I think has some similarity with Austrian Tyrol food. Anyway, I definitely recommend here. Not only the food but waitresses were also very friendly and kind. Guests were equally friendly.

A small menu with locally sourced, fresh produce, the food is always excellent. Served piping hot on hot plates, delicious. Traditional surroundings, relaxed atmosphere, family owned with a friendly, cool, father & son team. The nearest I've found to to an English pub here in Bavaria. (I am an English!)

The beer garden is beautifully located near the lake with your usual choice of Bavarian dishes. There is a even a better Terrace inside with superb view over the lake. The food is good, well sized and the service is friendly and efficient.

Friendly but slow service, the drinks here are still 0,5 the food however is only average, the soup for instance was completely tasteless. Depending on the amount of guests it can be difficult to get a "legal" parking place.
