BOLERO Restaurante - Tapas, Paellas y Vinos. Centrally located and air conditioned at Bundesplatz Lucerne we offer you our famous pinchos-buffet (tapas), paellas - live cooked from our front-cooking station - filled with your favorites ingredients and many open wines. Bienvenidos!
We visited here on a Friday evening after a brief stopover in Lucerne for the night. After checking trip advisor we liked the look of this Spanish restaurant, and called ahead to see if they had a table, which they quickly arranged - even though it was clearly a busy night. When we arrived they quickly took us to the table and immediately you could sense the great atmosphere in the restaurant. The decor and layout is really pleasing on the eye, and the staff were extremely friendly, funny and helpful. They have an iPad menu which was really fun to use and very different. A complimentary glass of Cava was also a nice touch.
We chose several tapas and found the quality very good, perhaps slightly expensive, but thoroughly worth the money for the all round experience. The staff were extremely attentive, one Italian chap continued to joke with us and really engage each time he topped up our drinks. The veal carpaccio was stunning. I'd highly recommend for any occasion as they seem to be catering for couples, families, large and small groups very efficiently. The buzz around the place was really nice.

Pizza & PastaLa Cucina is the city’s premier Italian restaurant, delivering delicious Italian cuisine including home-made pasta e pizza and great wines in a welcoming Mediterranean environment.
Grazie Roberto, Pietro, and Team for another fabulous evening at La Cucina! The truffle pizza was divine! The pasta telephono took my breath away!! I always feel like I am stepping into a warm Italian family home when I go to La Cucina! The food & service is impeccable! One of the most beautiful restaurants in Lucerne!! Bravo!!!

In Balances restaurant, Luzern, head chef Andy Fluri creates culinary masterpieces with great success. This master chef, who has been awarded 14 points by the prestigious Gault-Millau guide, takes his guests on a flight of fancy for the taste buds, with delicacies such: as cream of parmesan soup with basil Espuma and beef fillet steak carpaccio; braised veal cheeks in a truffle jus, served with a potato and onion mash and savoy bacon; or dumplings filled with chocolate and nuts, accompanied by apple mousse with sour cream and banana ice cream. All meals are prepared with only market fresh produce and everything is produced according to the season. Guests are welcomed with historic flair, which is also in keeping with modern design and makes for a stylish establishment decorated in warm, natural tones. This extraordinary ambience is even more enhanced by the Terrace, which looks directly on to the Reuss, which sets the mood not only for the romantics, but for all diners, as there is a sense of being on the Venecian Grand Canal.
Perfect place to have a coffee, wine or antipasto plate. Best view overlooking Lucerne. Very nice and cosy inside. In summer time you can sit out on the balcony which overlooks the lake.Dear Svetlana C, thank you very much for your fantastic review! We are happy that you also enjoyed your time at our Restaurant. We would happily welcome you soon again.

We were seated at a small table, and were presented with bread and salami. After that, nothing happened for 27 minutes!!! We waited so long to get the attention of one of the many waitresses and "Italian manager". The waitress asked: "Is this your first visit here?" I almost replied "Yes and my last". She explainde us that there is only one (1) set menu available, no a la carte, no wine list, no choices on what to get for dinner. Everybody gets a salad and the soup and then a roast. And that's it...... i said I don't like meat, so they offered me a fish, which obviously was not coming form their heart! The soup was a "saffron soup" which was like dish wash water. The meat main course was small and apparently not good, the fish was also not up to swiss standard. Very poor meal and slow service, not attentive. Absolute waste of time and money.

The only reason I am writing this review is that the staff and chef were so delightful, the food exceptional and the wine list had some amazing obscure wines. The prior critical review was obviously written by an Aussie who likes his meat well done and should eat at home. The experience was seriously nice and we have been fortunate to eat at half of the Pellegrino top 50 restaurants. The total value, experience and quality of food is worth enjoying. Just wanted to compliment the restaurant so others will try it but negative reviews out of touch with reality can affect a truly enjoyable experience. You will enjoy the meal if you don't mind the chef picking the entire experience so your tastes have to be varied. We really enjoyed it. Thx

Right on the lake, this restaurant is one of the better restaurants I've experienced.
We arrived without a reservation and got a seat outside even though the outside Seating area of the restaurant was quite full. Our waitress admitted that her English wasn't great, so I asked her if she spoke French and she did, so we did. Later, we heard one waitress who spoke English quite well.
We ordered a nice premier cru from the Beaune are of France and it was most excellent. After that we ordered a four course chef's surprise that must be ordered by at least two people a the table, which included:
- Bread and flavoured butters with two thin slices of beef
- warm bread, flavourful butter
1 - A red vegetable soup with beetroot as a base and a panko-crusted thing
- AMAZING soup! The panko thing was pretty good too.
2 - Some vegetables and some beef formed into a round disc
- a taste sensation
- lemon sorbet with nuts (?) (not numbered because our waitress said they serve
this with practically every meal)
- fantastic
3 - Steak with seasonal vegetables
- tender and beautiful with a very unique sauce
4 - Three desserts! A ball of gelato (?), a souffle-like mini chocolate cake, chocolate
mousse
- a great finish. The chocolate mini cake was warm and incredibly good.
This was a great dining experience and I would highly recommend it. It's not cheap - our meal was 240 CHF but it was a unique, delicious gourmet meal. Our waitress was nice too.
The outside Seating is right on the lake. We even had entertainment when we saw a guy coming in on a rowboat right beside the restaurant and her overturned the boat.
The bathrooms are kinda funny, with foot pedals to make the water come from the taps.

Aiola is located in a quiet cove of Lake Lucerne, with a pretty view on Hergiswil, Mt Pilatus and the Kastanienbaum peninsula. Aiola define themselves as mediterranean but the execution of the cuisine is more "swiss germanean" than mediterranean.
Starters in the teens, meat dishes reaching in the mid 40's mean higher expectations in terms of quality. My rucola/parmiggiano salad was plain ordinary, so was my wife's green salad: leaves and industrial sauce on the side. I wanted pork medallions but they were out so I took beef fillet instead. Meat was tender but too lightly seasoned, and strangely covered with molten cheese. Who decks fillet mignon with cheese ? My wife's truffle tagliatelle was light on truffles but generously doused in olive oil. Desserts were good.
All of that for 135 CHF for 2, including one glass of wine and one coffee. Wasn't bad, but wasn't great either and certainly underwhelming value for money. I expect more refinement for that kind of price. Or else to pay a whole lot less for that kind of cuisine. Service ok.

We came here for what was to be a quick lunch with friends and were positively surprised by the nice and welcoming atmosphere as well as the excellent three course menue. There is a good variety to chose from and individually combine. Everything was nicely presented and tasted excellent. Fair prices as well, I think lunch starts at around CHF 40 for two (excellent) courses. We will come again!

Urban and contemporary design characterise the Hermitage restaurant on the shore of Lake Lucerne. A place to relax, meet people and enjoy good food and fine wines in a fascinating lakeside setting with breathtaking mountain views. Genuine hospitality and friendly service. Its inspiring cuisine combines sophisticated Swiss and cosmopolitan classics in a skilful blend of regional products and delicacies from around the world. Welcome to the lakeside hotel with the added extra.
The restaurant have two place for dinner inside room and Terrace area. I suggested to have Terrace area with beautiful view to mount Pilatus, lake Luzern and garden.
The stick bread are delicious with different taste.
My appetizer is Tomate and Mango Gazpacho
The Gazpacho is perfect. It tastes fresh from tomato and mango with balsamic.

The casserole is fresh with delicious dressing, they mixed dressing with curcuma. The burger meat is delicious with tenderness. The burger sauce is also delicious with onion caramel and melted cheese also lettuce.
The dessert is Heidelbeeren Tiramisu

The Brasserie le Mirage is my favorite restaurant in all of Kanton Nidwalden. The restaurant is gorgeous, service is of the highest caliber, and the food flawless. It is a wonderful place to stop for lunch and I always recommend one of the daily menus which often includes a most delicious soup and salad with their signature dressing. This is our favorite spot for celebratory dinners and we never miss a chance to pop in around Christmastime as the restaurant has the most fantastic and festive decorations. We recently stopped in for coffee and dessert and I managed to eat an entire trio of sweets myself. I have enjoyed every meal, but would recommend that you make sure to order their daily soup. It is always out of this world.
