The tourist-thronged city of 60,000 is separated from the Swedish city of Helsingborg by a 20-minute ferry ride. Just an hour by train from capital Copenhagen, Helsingor basks on Denmark's North Riviera, surrounded by golden beaches and dense forest. The UNESCO-designated, Dutch Renaissance-style Kronborg Castle boasts the impressive claim of having provided the setting for Hamlet. A charming town of half-timbered houses, cobblestone streets and castles, Helsingor is easily explored by bicycle.

Absolutely great pizza, tasty and crispy. Helpful and friendly staff. Good location, only 5 minutes from the train station, in front of the square. The day after me and my kids we wanted some more of their delicious pizzas, but sadly we had to leave. Se you next year Casa Tua :-)

Excellent food, attentive staff and just a nice place. Not particularly busy on a weeknight: no reservation needed I'd guess. Loved the bread and olives whilst waiting for the meal. It's a little bit out of Helsingor city but certainly worked for us.

Several other restaurants were inexpicably closed and, after walking around, this was the only one serving after 11:00. The lasagne was okay. Pizza and cannelloni were edible at best. Beer and Montepulciano were fair. Would not recommend.

Limited choice, only 3 choices for lunch. Some waiting time. But well prepared, a lot to eat and not expensive. service is friendly

Charming restaurant and excellent italian food. The atmosphere is really cosy and the service is friendly. The antipasti and the pasta del mare were delicious. The lemon tart was really good. The service was a bit long and I ordered glasses of Prosecco that never came. But this was an exceptionally busy day due to a festival in the city.

Located quit eon the way from the havn and train station to the castle, with nice open sitting, the cafee provide a short list of foods. They call them 'franco' but they are Danish, and it is not bad.

In the town their are a number of cafes but something about Cafe Karisma caught our eye. We had been travelling for 5 weeks and finding great places for coffee and lunch was difficult in Scandinavia they was worth the stop. Most cafe are expensive and this one was not too bad on the hip pocket. The atmosphere is very cosy and the staff lovely trying catch our Australian fast talk when ordering. I would say stop by hear and look out the window while enjoying your cappuccino and people watch that was also a sight to be hold.

WELCOME TO CAFE CHAPLIN IN THE HEART OF HELSINGOR Cafe Chaplin is a family cafe located on Axeltorv in the heart of Elsinore, and within walking distance of Kronborg, Culture Yard and the rest of the center. It serves every day a unique tapas menu with a selection of different homemade dishes. In the summer we serve in the cafe's cozy patio and outdoor Seating directly off the main square, where over a hot cup of coffee or a cold draft beer you can follow the city life and markets.
Delicious food, a great variety freshly prepared. Welcoming and informal place in the center of Helsinore. We can highly recommend it.

We stayed 4 nights in the hotel with breakfast and dinner included.
Breakfast was OK, but the scrambled eggs (the only kind of eggs served) most probably did not contain eggs, but some kind of egg substitute. Juices were also some substitute. In total, typical breakfast for a low cost hotel, but not priced accordingly.
Dinner :
First night was a "grill" buffet. The salmon was OK, but it was not grilled. The meat was tender, but cold. The fish in foil just tasted awful. The chicken was not grilled either. With addition of cold potatoes - not grilled and some salads, this was the whole buffet. There were no desserts, just two kinds of really bad cake. No fruits and no coffee - probably extra if you wanted. And we paid for tap water with ice cubes.
Second night was two course: First course was ham with salad (pieces of salad were brown and should not have been served. Second course were leftover meet from the buffet the day before.
Third night was a "grill" buffet identical to the first night, except the meat seemed to be heated up for the third time. The cook was putting small pieces of already cooked meat on the grill.
In addition, many plates were chipped. Many were not cleaned properly, with food on the underside.
The awning over the outside part of the restaurant is really dirty with a lot of algea. They did not clean up food that had ended up on the floor.
In short : we feel tricked to eat there and pay what we payed.
