After all the previous reviews i was expecting a good feed at least. Partners burger was ok if a little bland. my lasagna was freezer burnt , dried out and still cold in places. Chips ok, good atmosphere. cheap drinks.

This restaurant would not look out of place in Europe and definitely is one of the best (if not the best) in the whole area, all this without looking out of place and retaining a certain African charm.
The food was amazing: Luca, the owner, gave us a tasting menu, with various starters and Madagascan oysters before moving onto lobsters and fish with vegetables and dessert, of course.
All dishes were presented extremely well, so not only they were delicious, but also beautiful to look at!
I am unsure on how the prices compare to the other local restaurants, as I have dined only there, but they are a lot cheaper than what we would pay in Europe for a similar meal.
Absolutely recommended.

We had an excellent diner there yesterday night! Both dishes were very tasty! The deco is very nice as well and the location ideal in central Ambatoloake ! Very nice place to eat in if you are visiting Nosy Be!

Italian food in Nosy Be Madagascar , amazing food !! I think it's very difficult to find an Italian restaurant in Belgium that has the same quality and tasty dishes like we have got at Papillon .

You can have cocktails, lunch and dinner at our restaurant, entirely open on a Terrace overlooking the bay, and surrounded by our Freshwater pool: you can read while contemplating the ocean, try your hand at a Malagasy game , or log in - free - Wifi internet. The creative cuisine is inspired by spicy flavors of Madagascar and the East. Composed exclusively of fresh produces, it leaves ample room for seafood (king mackerel, kingfish, lobsters and prawns, ...) brought daily by local fishermen, not to mention the specialties that are the hallmarks of Madagascar : the foie gras , fried with mango or lichis, filet of zebu, and a wide selection of exotic fruits. Over the seasons, our Malagasy chefs, also integrate with talent and inventiveness, fresh tropical fruits in delicious "home"sorbets, and vegetables from our organic garden, in divine salads. L'Heure Bleue's table, under the supervision of Ali, a talented Malagasy Chef who delights Nosy Be for years, is renowned, and proud of it ...
Today being my day off, I naturally decided to spend it at l'Heure Bleue with a few friends as it has this intimate setting which immediately makes you feel at home, the most picturesque view on the bay of Ambatoloaka and the open sea, chilled world music in the background carefully chosen by the manager who has quite a playlist and the most exquisite food on the island... Whether you come for breakfast, lunch, dinner, a snack or a drink, you will find satisfaction in the wide range of both savory and sweet options. The fish cannot be more fresh, the mix of flavours is like a firework, the zebu meat is tender, the Deserts make you want some more! It is the perfect combination of local cuisine with a French or Asian touch. The plus, everything is home-made, from the ice-creams & sorbets to the jams as well as the bread and pasta... Welcome to the Deck where you will not have another choice than coming back :)

This became a regular haunt during my short stay in Ambatoloaka. You cannot get a more authentic Malagasy restaurant - right on the beach with your feet in the sand. Your frites are fried in the open air behind you, your fish is delivered by visiting fishermen and your langouste and camerons will be perfect every time.

A good espresso is not easy to find in Nosy Be, but they got it right at L'Oasis! Good service as well and well-located, give it a try!
