Already in the last years Pfeffer could convince with their concept of temporarily occupying a former men shop at the Marktplatz. The shop was waiting to be reconstructed, Pfeffer was waiting to move into their current location, a fantastic building, made of local sand stone at the end of Kirchbrunnenstrasse, by the river Neckar. Like at the Marktplatz, Pfeffer serves a reasonably priced set lunch, you choose if you want all three courses or skip starter or dessert. Pfeffer has a small but special selection of open wines, as well as non-alcoholic specialities.
Apart from lunch, you might just want to stop by to get some fennel salami, delicious cheese, or maybe a tin of Parisian tea as a gift for an invitation.
If you are in town for shopping, have a break and take lunch at Pfeffer's; I also use it as a meeting point with my wife, when we are in town and shopping at different places. She's never been too late, as there was always another glass of wine :-)

I booked to eat here with two friends and at 9.30pm on a Saturday the place was pretty packed. After only a few minutes' wait we got our table and were well looked-after in terms of bread, drinks and our starters. The main course took a little while longer to come along but we were in no hurry. The food was good, nice fresh salad and a good selection of antipasti - super buffalo mozzarella, for instance. The Chianti was also very good, a pleasant surprise, and the main courses themselves ranged from fair to good. The pasta dish I had was nothing special but certainly decent, but my friend's osso buco was "a little disappointing". The service was generally attentive and the waitresses friendly.
Overall a pleasant experience, but if the main courses had been as good as the rest I might have thought about 5 stars.

The origins of this building date back to 1535 but it was badly damaged in WW2 and later restored. The restaurant is up a few steps and is in a fairly conventionally furnished room with brown woodwork, white walls and ceiling, and grey stone pillars. We had professional service from the waiting staff who were dressed in black and white and the atmosphere was smart and comfortable. We were served with bread and truffle butter and good house wine, but 5 Euros for a 75cl bottle of 'special health water'?. The meals were very good, mine was lovely: moist, fresh salmon with well cooked vegetables -neither too soft nor too hard- and Himself had something that was billed as 'the Heilbronner's favourite dish'. The dessert menu was very limited so we just finished with tea/coffee. A good meal for 64 Euros.

In a timeless and tastefull ambiente the Eckstein offers you a vast amount of Antipasti, Salads and Wineservings in addition to a large variety of red Pizzas (from Napels) and white Pizzas (from Rome, Tuscany and the Ligurian Coast). We offer a large variety of opened and bottled Wines, draft Beer, Soft- and Longdrinks as well as Aperitives. During the Summertime we invite you to relax and enjoy Food and Wine on our Terrasse.
Each city has many locations for pizza, standard pizza. But the Eckstein offers different kind of pizza. They separate in “white” and “red” pizza (without and with tomato-sauce) and each pizza comes with special ingredients, fine composed and superb matching. Our pizza came beside 3 different cheese, which harmonious complemented, with red-onion-confit and caramelized walnuts: really delicious and extraordinary. We also can recommend the good selected wine menu, you can choose by 0.1, 0.25 or a bottle. Service is very friendly and helpful. But for a Friday or Saturday dinner you should already book a few days in advance.

This is Heilbronn’s vegan café/restaurant, right in the city centre. Having heard about it I popped in for lunch and chose the soup of the day and a salad. It turned out that the soup would have been plenty on its own, being a generous serving in a large dish. I enjoyed this a lot, it being both tasty and filling. Still, the salad which followed was also very good – a nice combination of fresh leaves, lentils, cucumber and few other things in a nice dressing. The staff were very friendly and the food came quite quickly. It was also well-priced, not at all expensive and that, coupled with the feeling that you’ve just eaten something healthy, allows you to leave feeling good.
The café does bigger meals of course and opens for dinner in the evening as well as for lunch earlier in the day. it's quite small inside - downstairs at least - and the tables are a little awkward but still, you can't have everything. It has a certain charm, for sure.

The food is absolutely fabulous... Their pizza's are tasty with a great combination of bread, sauce, toppings... Cooked to perfection. The burger had a little too much bread, but the flavors were amazing!
The atmosphere of Hip Island adds to the experience of this great place.
It reminds me of the Islands of Hawaii... Kauai in particular!
Thank you for the wonderful experience!!!
Aloha

We´ve had an nice dinner and a breakfast there, both was very delicious! The place is very easy to find because it´s opposite the main train station Heilbronn. Some nice hotels are around and in the same house as the restaurant they have a design hotel.
A lot of people came in on sunday morning, so you should make a reservation in advance.

This place is one of oldest in town. No surprise but few things could be improved....like service and set up of room. Food just average but with environment impact does not match bill and competitors. Time to invest and change.....oposit investment will be sun ready.
