Recommended highly by a friend and was not disappointed. The bar was dog friendly and we were treated to a lovely plate of food, big portions too! Bar and waiting staff were very friendly and attentive. Great to see The Findlay’s running the place like old times, will be back!

Yet another superb Sunday lunch at our favourite East Lothian restaurant . Small but perfectly formed menu, makes it difficult to choose but whatever you pick you know it will be freshly cooked locally sourced produce. The chef is a rising star .
And all priced very very reasonably
Thank you to all the team at this family run hotel and brasserie
Ps thanks for the recipe for the strawberry pannacotta , it was delicious !!!!

The Avenue will be open for drinks only after Saturday until we leave on the 15th February!
Used to quite like it here, great burgers. It has been a while since i have been however the last occasion was just crap! Limited menu, ambivalent service. We all decided not to return again.

My family and I have used the Delivery service many times, and have sat in for a meal a few times. We always receive great service and lovely meals. Takeaway orders arrive within reasonable time and are always lovely and hot. Often we order and then go to collect it at the restaurant which they are always happy to do. When sitting in staff are always very attentive and our meals are always lovely. We will continue to keep coming back!

Booked a table in advance as the Indian restaurant we normally go to was fully booked. We have eaten at The Eastern Eye once before a few years ago, didn't rate it then but thought we would give it another go. Restaurant was fairly quiet but still had to wait to be shown to our table. No table clothes and paper napkins on the tables, decor more akin to a cafe than a restaurant. Ordered poppadoms which came quickly along with our drinks, took a while for them to return to take our order. When the mains arrived the onion bhajis were barely warm with no salad, my curry arrived after the rest of the food and it was tasteless (chilli garlic chicken). Not a patch on the Grace of India in Aberlady, suffice to say I will not be going back to the Eastern Eye.

We are a family run coffee shop offering a full range of coffee drinks made with our own blend of triple certified 100% arabica freashly ground coffee beans. We also offer cakes, scones and a range of light snacks and lunches for you to enjoy in our cafe or lounge area. We look forward to seeing you soon. David Diggory.
Visited here for a mid morning coffee and snack, the coffee was lovely and so was the cake. The cafe was clean, bright and had a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I felt fine just sitting for a while Reading my paper and enjoying my coffee. The staff were polite and friendly, would definitely visit again.

This is an excellent combination of deli shop and cafe. It serves excellent coffee plus a range of other drinks such as hot chocolate in cosy, clean, welcoming surroundings. Baking is home made and the cakes look extremely good. Various casual food items can be purchased on a take out basis and they all look delicious. The shop has some good quality deli produce along the lines you would anticipate including oatcakes, chutneys, cheeses, condiments etc etc. This shop is definitely worth calling in if you are passing through Haddington.

a nice big restaurant lots of room, a bit too open, and voices echoed a lot and got louder , not good if you want a quite night, it sounded more like a pub . It needs a bit carpet and a few booth type seats for privacy, It does not feel like your typical indian restaurant with a bit indian wall art etc Anyway the butter chicken and veg pillau were lovely.

We had heard via friends that Charlie the chef was back working with Paul so we decided to give the Tyneside another go.
We weren't disappointed. Food and service were excellent. The chicken, stuffed with black pudding, wrapped in Parma ham with a chorizo and mushroom sauce was amazing. Veg was cooked to perfection.
We will be back soon.

Chips were overcooked, also feel the service could be better. We had a panini which was also overcooked and a baked potato which was burnt. Would not return in a hurry.
