It's by far my favorite restaurant in North Greece! A place to be as vegan. Planty dishes with wild mushrooms. What else good I wished except a good service, clean environment and very intresting and well made decoration. This restaurant has it all. Congratulations guys. Even our dog who was also welcome appreciated. Thank you!

At the end of the village Spileon (Cave), on thw road to the impressive gorge of "portitsa" you can taste many meat dishes. Everything is well-grilled and delicius. And there are lovely sides, too.
You can walk to portitsa and around the village and then seat to eat and drink the tasteful homemade wine.

It is one of the best places in the area for traditional local food. Delicious kebab, souvlaki, lab, sausages and burgers. Together with fresh salads, greek feta and french fries.
The people who run the place are very friendly and the service is very good.
If you want to try, local, traditional, real meat and great salads, then Tacos is one of the best places in the area and prices are very good indeed.
Enjoy..!!!

We visited Igoumenitsa with my family on our way to Corfu, and we found this lovely place with the most tasteful ice cream EVER!!!
The owners were vey polite and they explained that their ice cream was made by fresh milk and not with milk powder, and it's conservatives free.
They had a large varity of toppings and even fresh Greek cakes like "revani" or "karidopita" to die for!!

If you drive from Thessaloniki or Vergina to Meteora, this is the place to stop for lunch. The juicy chunks of pork "kebab" as the call it here (but not minced as in other countries under the same name) fry over the charcoals to perfection. The mushrooms dishes exhibit a variety of mushrooms cooked wonderfully well. The salads, the local wine and on top of everything the reasonable prices make this a must stop on the way.

Let's face it! Grevena as a town is not renowned for its beauty and architecture. Its people though are warmhearted and hospitable, while the nature that surrounds it is that of a paradise!
We would skip any reviews for the hotel we stayed, as it is not worth mentioning, since it resembles most of the hotels that are abundant in the major towns all over the Greek Mainland, having to offer nothing more, but a descent shelter...Very friendly and accommodating though!
Venti Wine Bar, however, came up as a very pleasant surprise and as an 'Oasis'. We tried it for two consecutive evenings.
The decor is by all means outstanding, the bar extensive, the service impeccable.
The food served along with the fine wine of regional wineries was something to talk about. What's more than that it must be the only wine bar/restaurant in town that serves 'special' dishes made out of ingredients that Grevena is famous of: 'Mushrooms'! The Chef, Vaios, whom we asked to meet, is a rising star. Polite, adventurous, enjoying his profession.
Apart from the mushroom, the ‘kritharoto’ and the trahana dish, which competes with the finest risottos ever tasted, the ‘dako’ appetizer was of an original presentation and taste, as it was mixed with a pesto sauce and tomatoes.
The establishment houses also a finely decorated wine tasting space downstairs, which should be given a try in our next visit.
'Venti Wine Bar' is a must for the businessman in town and a place that combines fine food & entertainment at very modest prices.

Your gps is going to help you get in the middle of the mountain to finf this place. Worth the trip. Amazing building and great garden. You immidiately want to sit and taste the locel tsipouro which is really tasty. I visited in the summer time and i got dissapointed by the small quantity in the dishes and smaller viriaty.

I had some years to go there. Took the chance and I did not regret it. The restaurant wasn 't full and that was good for us, as it did not have noise. The main characteristic is the big fireplace. Outside you see the Mountains of Pindos round of Smixi. We started with a mushroom soup, which was good and the portion was big. If you want to continue with meat, it 's better to share the soup to 2 persons. The pie with herbs (hortopita) was very nice. We ordered pork and lamb kebab (the area of Grevena is famous for the kebab and especially the lamb kebab) and we were not disappointed. The fried potatoes were fresh cut. The salads were good. Also the roasted "kotsi" (foot of the pig) was well roasted. In the end they served free sweets (ravani). We ate good for one more time there and I surely suggest it. In the winter it is a must for people going to the Vasilitsa ski center, which is less than 10 km from Smixi. The service is good and friendly (family running).
