Gotha (German: [ˈɡoːtaː]) is the fifth-largest city in Thuringia, Germany, located 20 kilometres (12 miles) west of Erfurt and 25 km (16 miles) east of Eisenach with a population of 44,000. The city is the capital of the district of Gotha and was also a residence of the Ernestine Wettins from 1640 until the end of monarchy in Germany in 1918. The House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha originating here spawned many European rulers, including the royal houses of the United Kingdom, Belgium, Portugal (until 1910) and Bulgaria (until 1946).

I never tough that I would be so satisfied and happy that I choose to eat there. The food taste wonderfull, best souce, the service are unbelievable. I hope I would have the oportunity to eat here again.!!!

It's true that you won't find haute cuisine here, but the restaurant makes no such claims. It's a traditional German restaurant and what they do, they do well. A lovely setting beside the Schloss, the interior is authentic and pretty. I had a Schweinschnitzel, which was tasty and tender. My partner went for a Bratwurst and Sauerkraut and was very happy with it. The draught beer was refreshing: good quality stuff. It's true that the manageress had a very ungracious manner, but our waitress was very pleasant, friendly and efficient. All-in-all a very enjoyable experience.

I was there with 3 friends, we didn't have a table booked what we got a stange look from the waiter for. We were left to choose our own table, while approaching one in a corner we were briefly told "that's reserved", so we went to another one. The same waiter was not very welcoming while taking orders. food was very enjoyable though, prices are fair.
For prices and food I do recommend this restaurant, but staff should try harder.

The Quality Hotel, which is near the zoo in Gotha, serves wonderful meals. Sit and enjoy a cool beer at the hotel bar. If your mouth waters at what you see in the open-view kitchen, take a close look at the menu, which offers specialities from Thuringen and international dishes. A selection of wines - from wine-growing areas in Germany and around the world - complement the menu. There are four conference rooms which have natural light, air-conditioning and the latest event technology. The rooms can be used for large meetings, seminars and conferences.

I can only recommend not to stay there for lunch in order to have a nice stay.
After several minutes of sitting there, two things meet the eye:
1. The service personnel is not especially friendly.
2. Their attendance is very unevenly spread.
When ordering it only takes them some time to bring everything. My choice was the "Fitness Salad" which dies first if all not match one's first idea of 'crunchy fresh salad'. Instead you get a not at all "fitnesslike" mixture of buffet salad, mainly consisting of Kraut-Salad and tomato in instant dressing. After eating about half the salad, I felt overfilled already and I could not finish the plate though quite hungry before. Was at work the next day and could barely manage to concentrate. The next day at the Doctors, I figured out that I became sick due to bad food (then remembering the somewhat strange, slightly alcoholic taste of the salad). Result: not able to work for further two days. Since I ate nothing else around that time, I definitely blame the salad.
Overall result: a good hotel with a not too recommendable kitchen.

This Italian restaurant offered good food which was well-prepared and served professionally at reasonable price; wines were also reasonably priced. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly and easy-going. We dined a few days before Christmas and it was quite busy but full of fun and good humour.

In unmittelbarer Nähe einer der 3 Burgen 'Drei Gleichen'. Wandermöglichkeiten.
Thüringer und Fränkische Küche und Biere. Aufmerksame Bedienung. Sehr kinderfreundlich. Auch für Familienfeiern geeignet.

We had a wonderful lunch here, sitting outside in the Sunshine. The cuisine, a mix of Italian and German, is of excellent quality and the chef makes recommendations in person. Enjoyed the experience on every level.

Das Restaurant ist gemütlich. Das Essen, durchweg gutbürgerliche Küche, ist schmackhaft reichlich und preiswert. Die Bedienung ist nett und aufmerksam. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und kommen gern wieder.

Ich bin immer wieder gern hier. Wenn man die Nase voll von Glutamat hat, sollte man hier mal einkehren. Neben einer immer prallt gefüllten Salattheke gibt es in der Woche jeden Tag wechselnde Gerichte.

Das Eiscafe hat gutes Eis, Kuchen und Backwaren. Auch der Kaffee war gut. Das Cafe ist nett eingerichtet. Die Bedienung war sehr nett.
