Fourth time here and not one disappointment. The food is great, another level in comparison to any other restaurant in Melbourne. The service fantastic and professional with some of the best Italians in Australia. The owner is a careful and caring person, always there, for anything you need. If I could I would come back tomorrow

There’s a touch of quality about everything at Centanove and it’s probably a cut above most other restaurants around Kew, particularly if you’re looking for something a little more elegant for that special night out. Service is first class, the wine list is varied and the food, including the yummy bread, absolutely fresh.

Step back in time as you enjoy your meal in a friendly relaxed family run business.
Just arrived in Melbourne and went to trendy Carlton, not sure what to expect from this Italian restaurant. It didn't start off well, There was only a half portion of Cannelloni left for me, my partner had the last full portion. I has happy to have only the half portion with a salad. Lori the owner was distraught that there was not enough for a full portion for me.So she offered me any alternative I wanted, didn't"charge for the salad, offered us both a sweet and a liquor. I then asked if she could order a taxi for us, she went outside to get a taxi, because were difficult to obtain she even offerd the taxi driver a coffee to take us back to our hotel. Talk about going the extra mile. By the way the Cannelloni was great.

Housed in an elegant triple-fronted Victorian Terrace, past the bohemian enclave of Melbourne’s famous ‘Brunswick Street’offering seasonal contemporary Australian cuisine and professional hospitality since 1994.Awarded a minimum of 1 hat in the coveted “Age Good Food Guide” every year since 1996.
For our wedding reception in October 2017 we chose Matteo's - we've always loved our experiences there, and measure all our culiinary experiences by this establishment. With only 30 of us, we booked the Venetian room, and as it was lunch on Saturday, they opened just for us and we had the place to ourselves, so our best man could serenade us with his acoustic guitar.
We had asked for our guests to be greeted with a glass of bubbly, a beer or soft drink on arrival, and we were pleased to find that they had opened the back room for guests to mingle before being seated - we hadn't expected this!
The Venetian room itself was laid out beautifully, and one of our guests reported "this is the best food I've ever had at a wedding!" Service was attentive but not intrusive; the courses came out at perfect intervals; it had been no problem at all to modify the menu to remove all nuts (to cater to our guest with a nut allergy); instead of either the drinks package or open wine list, it was no problem for us to give a short list of 5 wines for our guests to choose from; in short, nothing was too big an ask.
We have already returned with a smaller group of 6 on Christmas Eve, and we will continue returning to Matteo's to celebrate our special occasions. We could not recommend this place more. If you haven't been, you must go soon!

Welcome to Longrain, Melbourne. Our menu brings together South East Asian influences with the best Victorian produce. Inspired by the communal eating philosophy of the Asian table, our menu is made up of dishes created for sharing. Large servings and communal tables encourage the spirit of eating together, so you can try each dish as part of a full tasting experience, just as it was intended. The wine and cocktail list is created to work in harmony with the menu's intense and aromatic flavours.
We visited Longrain on a Friday evening around 7.30. We were able to get a seat at the bar which was fine. The bar staff were very attentive taking drinks and food order. They helped us know how much food to order. We had the...MoreThank you for your fantastic review. It is wonderful to read of your Longrain Experience and we hope to welcome you again soon.

This intimate restaurant and bar offers authentic northern Italian cuisine in a typically Italian bistro setting, complete with charming, opinionated and helpful waiters. Food preparation and presentation were excellent and not fussy. Cheesecake dessert divine.

Roule Galette is a little piece of France in the city where you will find French staff, speaking the language of Voltaire who will serve you in a warm and intimate setting reminiscent of Montmartre in Paris. Music, whether Breton or French songs of the last century or more modern times will accompany your meal along with authentic Cider from the Pays d'Auge in Normandie, or Cotes du Rhone or Burgundy wines. Not to forget the inimitable Orangina.
There are so many restaurants to choose from in this area the competition must be fierce. Given they all seem to serve similar breakfast fare the only point of discrimination would be the level of customer service. At the Roule Galette we had standard eggs on toast and the waiter was very efficient and attentive. The atmosphere in the laneway is vibrant and adds to the dining experience.

Ciao Cielo - literally translated from Italian as Hello Sky - is a sparkling addition to the Melbourne restaurant landscape. Situated on lively Bay Street, in Port Melbourne, Inspired by Art Deco elements, Milano sophistication and the glamour of the 40's. Original floor to ceiling boards, beautiful lead light windows dating back to the old shop row days when hardware was the trade. A look at the portraits on the walls show a tribute to the very much loved and missed Lloyd and Mary Grand parents whom past in the Black Saturday fires Bryan's food is about strong italian flavours reflected in the abundance of amazing produce availiable locally in Victoria. Bryan is by no means a traditionalist, he believes in the right to be as creative as one desires with what you are inspired with.
This is quality stuff in a great ambience. Starters were scallops and king prawns in garlic aioli. Barramundi mains. Extras - just needed the rocket salad with parmesan, oil and balsamic. Excellent wines too. Service efficient snd with a smile. Pity we only found it on our last night in town...

Sally's Kitchen has been around for almost a decade, but I only recently discovered it - talk about hiding in plain sight.
Excellent food and wine served in a European style bistro is topped only by the hospitality that is the signature of good old-fashioned owner-operator pride in what they do.
We came for a relaxed dinner after work on a Thursday night and were spoilt with steak sandwiches and a heavenly apple and rhubarb crumble, I'll be coming back to try the breakfast menu for sure.
Thank you Sally.
