Although not a crowded Caribbean tourist spot, Georgetown is a unique city that serves as a perfect jumping point for ecotours into the South American interior. Its Victorian and Dutch Colonial architecture is detailed with louvered window shutters and brick and stone work. Built below the high tide level, the city is protected by a large seawall and drained by a grid of canals. Sundry goods can be found at the distinctive Stabroek Market, while the landmark Light House offers panoramic views.

Went here for food, had the chicken curry, was traditional indian Guyanese style, very tasty, well priced too. Also went here for drinks a couple of times, it's the place to go to meet, chat and dance with tourists and locals alike.

I wish I has the picture of the waitress to send to the Hotel. The entire groups was impressed how stupid the waitress was. It looked like the restaurant was making a favor in "giving" us food.Thank you for your review and I apologie for the very poor experience you obviously had. Can you please contact me on [email protected] with more details on the specifics of what happened so I can take corrective action. Thanks Shaun

Average Chinese Cuisine. I had heard about the restaurant in a previous trip, so I ensured that I dined there on my subsequent trip to George Town. I was a bit disappointed as the flavor was not that outstanding and service was average. Ordered 2 items, Choy Sum and Crispy skin pork on a Friday evening and they had neither as well as the credit card machine was not working! I would not not seek to go there again. The live steelband music was good but I wonder if appropriate in a restaurant decorated in full Chinese decor!

Attracts young (and not so young) professionals and would be great if they trained their wait staff and cashiers to give better service. It takes too long to order and too long for tables to be cleared and the bill to come. Their pineapple tarts are better than most that I've had. Their croissants are also a good take-away.

Not the best Dim Sum I’ve ever had and more limited in choices than Dim Sum in the USA, but very nice. You pick up your dishes from a counter; some are cooked after you select them. Staff were solicitous and helpful.

The atmosphere of German's is basic; the setup is similar to a small mall cafeteria. Very clean environment.
Having said that, the food was really homestyle, feel good, local cuisine that tasted like it was made with love. It was also very affordable. I don't think I will buy soup from anywhere else in George Town!
The bathroom was clean and there was available parking for those who drive (I usually take taxis).
Overall, not a bad stop.

Whilst visiting George Town, I dined here. Thought the food was reasonably ok. Not that spectacular.
Food took a long time to be served but eventually came.
Dishes were filling and portions were reasonably sized for a George Town restaurant.
Water that was served seemed filtered and purified.
However I don't think the dishes served here are authentically Indjiun.

Playland Americano Italiano is for me the best restaurant in Guyana. The food is delicious and the service by far the best. You can bring your own wine for which they do not charge anything. Persons celebrating birthdays, wedding days, etc always get a special treat.

A bit difficult to spot and a bit sparsely decorated. However, the service was friendly, burger and Sandwich freshly made. Excellent chips?. Nice coffee. All in all nice lunch stop

Excellent ice cream - the best I've had in G'town. Like most places in Guyana, the customer service is weak. There's a bakery in the same shop and they sell good whole wheat bread. They also sell stuff for lunch - curries, roti, etc.
