Delicious meal..Vegetarian and very Welsh. Highly attended by Welsh , English and spanish . Decorations are superlative. Don´t miss it! Music relax and enjoy every minute.

There's a strong Welsh heritage in Chubut Argentina and as a result, gems like this exist. The grounds are beautiful of Ty Té and this was also the place a famous Princess of Wales came in the 1990s!
Loved the tea here and definitely recommend it as a stop over during your travels through Chubut.

We drove through Gaiman after visiting Punta Tombo to see the penguins. By the time we arrived, we were famished, and we were very surprised to find this incredible restaurant right on the main square of this historic Welsh town.
The service was excellent, and the decoration of the restaurant very warm and welcoming. The food was fantastic. We both ordered different bife (steak) dishes. When the food came, I thought there was no way I could finish the steak -- it was so big -- but, sure enough, I did. By the way, when I asked about dish ingredients because of my food sensitivities, the waitress was both knowledgable and accommodating. Actually, no accommodations had to be made, because the food was fresh and made to order. I couldn't recommend this restaurant more. Gourmet food in Gaiman -- this was definitely one of the best meals we ate in a restaurant during our entire trip through Argentina.

Nice traditional tea house with charming touches. Loved the doilies and personalized China set. Nice history of their Welsh history on the walls and a great location by the river. The tea service was good but the servers are not really interested in having you there-not the most boisterous staff. However, tea hot and tasty treats! Also a little gift store and you can buy breads.

We went there with a small group of European tourists. The house is nicely decorated, but nothing very specific about Wales, I have been 30+ times in Wales and saw things much more typical that at 'Ty Gwyn'. However, I understand that people from Argentina feel a little different, as this may be their first contact to Wales and Welsh people & habits. What we didn't like was that you had to "take it all or nothing" (set menu). No chance to test whether you like it or not. Also it was fairly expensive for what they offered (Pts. 270/pp).

We specifically chose this tea house because of its long history and ties to the original Welsh immigrants. Because of this we thought we might experience a slice of home but actually it was very disappointing. The door was locked so we had to ring the bell which got us in via a less than pleasant welcome. It felt a bit like we were intruding so we took our seat and ordered the standard tea. While waiting for this we wandered round the "museum" which consisted of many historical artifacts placed in glass cabinets and hung up around the tea room walls. The Delivery of the food was prompt but almost inedible. The buttered bread that accompanied the cheese was very dry with a thick dense texture. The large selection of cakes looked impressive but all seemed a bit stale like they'd been baked days before and stored in readiness for service in a freezer. The worst were the scones which were so hard and tasteless - actually we couldn't eat them. Maybe our food was so bad because we were the first visitors of the day which meant we got the leftovers from the day before? Two things were OK - the jam and the tea. The full pot of tea delivered complete with handmade tea cosy is actually the best cuppa we've drunk in quite some while. Would have preferred to have paid the ARG pesos 85 for a better experience in one of the many other tea houses close by

lo recomiendo para ir a almorzar, pues se come muy bien y a la noche puede ser un poco pesado, buena atencion, falta limpieza y servicio

This is where I went in Gaiman when I was hungry at odd times (for example, if my stomach was not operating on local time!) A nice selection of dependable foods, including salads, empanadas, and pizza.

I was amazed to discover the owners here speak perfect Welsh, way out in Patagonia! We arrived at our Welsh conversation via Spanish, with the owner amusingly presuming that I did not speak Welsh since I am from Cardiff! She was also really helpful, since she allowed us to share a tea platter since we were running low on cash in a place that is difficult to find a working ATM in. Oldest place around, beautifully presented, and a wonderful experience I would recommend to anybody.
