The title more or less sums up my lunch at Le Cinq.
The dining room was beautiful with the tables very generously spaced to allow a lot of privacy.
The service was impeccable and lived up to the Four Seasons brand. Frank was particularly nice to me.
I'd the 4-course lunch with came with various amuse bouche, pre-desserts and mignardises. All the things I ate were nicely presented and delicious. The cold sea urchin souffle was creamy, smooth and flavourful. For the main course, instead of the not-so-special grilled codfish, I opted for lightly smoked black rice with creamy black pudding with passion fruit coulis which the waiter said was a new dish by chef Christian Le Squer. It's surprisingly good.
I didn't give 5 stars because the food lacked the edge which I usually look for in a restaurant with 3 Michelin stars. Also, I'm not a huge fan of spherification which was used in the amuse bouche, pre-dessert and dessert.
Still it's an extremely enjoyable lunch.

Warning the review may come like a shocker, went there for our anniversary dinner and valentine night
Booked and prepaid a month ago for 1300 euro for two ( valentine price factor )
I was expecting to have a superb nite
All was heading for 4 star nite, reason was some sluggish service by one staff who looked rushed and hyper
But as we were in our third main which was veal, intruder enjoyed the dish but my wife complained that her meat was to strange and she shared a piece with me and it was absolutely strange and inedible, called the manager and shared with him the problem, he have asked my wife if she wanted something else, at that time she was full as we opted not to have any replacement, now we are down to three star rating as this you wouldn’t expect for a 3 Michelin star place but all is good
Then came the bad slam dunk finish as we asked and re asked for the bill ( for the water , tea ) it took like 10 mins to come with a bill of 76 euro ?!
They had a problem with their POS with chip cards and the lady was so rude in the way she handled the problem as i assured her that my cards my working, my wife probably both embarrassed for the situation she got some cash and her prepaid card ( magnetic strip )and paid the bill quickly.
And the lady didn’t care who is paying as she was in a rush to get paid
And in a very snobbish and impolite way she said her cards are working and yours aren’t
That was a low low for behavior and manners that they shouldn’t retain their 3 Michelin star for such attitude, the lady doesn’t deserve to work in a restaurant even
Thank you for ruining a special nite for me
Will never step into your place again, never will recommend it
It’s not food , it’s service and ppl who serve you that make the difference.

This was such a highlight of our trip. I organized it as a surprise and was a bit skeptical, you know river cruise food can be a let down. But oh my goodness was I surprised with amazing food, excellent service and unforgettable views. Everything was just perfect. This is a must do and worth every cent.

My partner and I dined at Auberge de la Brie a couple of years ago during our first trip to our timeshare at the Marriott Village Ile-de-France, and at that time had a truly spectacular dining experience (which I reviewed here). So, when we decided to return to Paris this Thanksgiving week we knew that we wanted to celebrate our American Thanksgiving with a dinner at Auberge de la Brie. As with our last experience here, this time was superb from beginning to end. The Maitre d'/Captain greeted us and sat us down in the best of the only 9 tables in the main restaurant--the quiet little table in the corner! He even remembered us from our previous visit (my partner is an exotically beautiful woman who, to my mind, is unforgettable!). Since our last visit the chef has ramped up his game even further. From amuses bouche through to dessert and petit fours with coffee he produced an even more spectacular meal than we remembered. At the end, his wife spent some time chatting with us, and saw us out the door, happy and full with more wonderful memories. Still a must visit if you are in the EuroDisney area, but be forewarned book well in advance--we booked 3 weeks in advance, and the concierge at the Marriott told me that as of 11/24 she was unable to secure a table at Auberge de la Brie until the second week of January!

I think people have really exaggerated the whole "this is the best food/duck in the world" theme a bit too much.
The owner is passionate about the duck and the couple cook with love.
However, I do not feel it justifies the 1 hour waiting time sat on a hard chair or the price of 31 euros. There is minimal meat on the duck, a lot of it is bones and fat.
It is tasty, not something necessarily to write home about, but nice. The owners are very friendly.
Only drink options are water and wine. Only food option is duck or something else I didnt catch but was frowned upon.
Nice food, long waiting time and price.

Awarded three Michelin stars, five Toques and a rating of 19.5/20 by Gault et Millau, La Vague d'Or invites guests on a magical journey between land and sea. Arnaud Donckele's creative mastery ensures an unparalleled experience which combines exceptional cuisine and wines from around the world selected by the head sommelier. Arnaud's cuisine is a rustic journey through the Mediterranean. On one hand, it gives guests a peek into Provence, flirting with the subtle flavours of sun-ripened vegetables and the aromatic richness of the region's fresh herbs. On the other, it transports diners across the sea to taste the nutty essence of exotic argan oil. Much like a flavour alchemist, Arnaud composes his dishes as naturalist paintings. Throughout the season, guests may dine in the elegant restaurant or on the umbrella-covered Terrace for a stunning meal with dazzling views of the sea.

2017 Season: Thursday, May 4th to Saturday, October 7th
This is our second dinner at La Vague d'Or, we have stayed at the hotel twice and on this occasion we again had dinner at the hotel. We selected the summer tasting menu, full of lots of locally sourced fresh produce. My highly was the tomato course, but all were exceptional, the seafood and meat dishes were great. We also had the paired wine with our meal, their selections were just right. Service five star, venue five star, meal five star....we will return, thank you Chef Arnaud and team (Manou offered excellent service, as always!).

Lunch menu excellent value for money - exquisite flavors - you sense also in the service the Japanese influence is present meaning all flawless and friendly but you do miss out on the friendly banter you can get in more French inspired establishments.
Apart from that, hands down one off the best meals I have enjoyed and putting it on my top 3 in Paris.

Spent the weekend in Peillon for my partner's birthday. Started our eating and drinking at Les Plaisirs. We hadn't made a reservation, but they accommodated us (4 people). This was a truly lovely little local restaurant in a classic perched village stone medieval building. Warm, gorgeous, and friendly (thank you to the chef and his mother who spoke English and between them did everything - cooking, wine recommendations, serving etc). We had three courses each- all simple but beautiful local and seasonal food. Great wine. I can imagine that this place in summer must be bursting at the seams. The price was incredibly reasonable. The day we went, they had a set menu of three dishes (two choices for entree, main and dessert) for only €30 I think. Entree: creamy risotto (mushroom with jamon) or onion tart with roasted red pepper and jamon; Main: Guinea fowl or beef, with cabbage and potatoes; Dessert: creme brûlée or compote of fruit and rosemary crispy wafers and cream. I'm not describing this well, just go and enjoy and eat local food made with love. Photos show it better. After two months in Nice, we've had a lot of mediocre 'local/rural ' food, this was the real deal. Outstanding.

Polly and Cie is a concept store which mix up fresh and homemade food for lunch, then a tea room with - still fresh and homemade- pastries. At Polly and Cie you can also find clothes and accessories. Everything you need and love, in a cosy place. Come and taste ! :)
We were looking for the place to eat on our way for Cimiez, so we chose this restaurant. When arrived there we have been positively surprised by their specific concept (restaurant+boutique+tea room). Even we arrived before their official time for meals, they accepted to prepare...MoreThanks a lot for your comment ! At Polly and Cie we do everything possible to make our customers happy. We are glad you enjoyed the food and the time spent at the shop. You are welcome at anytime ;)
