We had a more than acceptable dinner here. We received both a complementary starter and a drink to round the evening off and both our meals were good. Wait stafff spoke some English and despite having a biggish group dinning we were not overlooked. Local band wondered in and a local man sang with them to his wife,
Good night.

Search Cool Beans, Flores, Guatemala and you'll find a few references online about this restaurant. It's run by a wife/husband couple. Janette is employeed with a local NGO, Concern America, that provides health care training in Guatemala. Her husband is from Guatemala and is training the be an architect. He cooks and she often helps with serving. They've got two fantastic girls and their restaurant is often a hangout for locals after work. Looking forward to having this place added to Trip Advisor so I can post a great review.
This is what we call an alternative place in Europe. It has sofas, games, collectibles etc. Service was friendly. We had frappes and lemonade. I could not get rid of this dirty feeling while being there. Cannot describe it. And the toilets were definitely dirty. What I liked was the terrace/open space in the back, with a view to the lake, and all the little geckos in the garden.

Restaurant located on the second level (terrace), on the shore of the island of Flores on the west side. Suitable place to take advantage of seeing the sunset without any problem.
I wasn’t too hungry when I went with friends to this restaurant so I ordered a couple of entrees, one of them being the carpaccio (very thin slices of beef in a delicate dressing with small capers) traditional Spanish dish, it was absolutely amazing!! The meat fell apart with my fork and was super light to eat, I accompanied it with another entre of the stuffed portobello mushroom, also delicious! My friends had a pizza and pasta and they equally reported excellent food. Lots of choice on the menu and at the end of the meal we were given little ‘worry dolls’ to take away, was a lovely little addition to our visit...and prompted me to write this review :-)

Artesanal Cuisine Restaurant, Grill And Wood Oven At The Sight Of The Customer. With A Great View Of The Peten Itza Lake.
Came here as a tour group - normally my expectations would be low, but the good reviews on TA gave me some reassurance it would be OK. Nice setting and plush environment on arrival suggested this could be good, it unfortunately wasn’t to be. One of our party is vegetarian and struggled to find anything off the regular menu, the kitchen came up with a ‘special’, but it was served cold and the guacamole was just avocado purée. My Tacos arrived in good time, but then I had to chase and wait ages for the accompaniment sides and the tacos were nearly cold by the time the sides had come. The staff seemed more interested in finding the sports channel on the TV above our table - no guests were watching, but the volume was turned up loud, disrupting our meal, yet all requests to turn down the volume were ignored! The food was average to good - prawns are good, and the price wasn’t too high. Overall not somewhere to recommend. We had a much nicer meal the night before in Villa de Chef - which deserved it’s place at the top of TA unlike this place.

La Danta very good food and friendly staff, the best coffee in the Flore Island. Paninis, Pastas, Fish, Crepps and smothies.
This restaurant was recommended to us so during our trip to Tikal. We wanted to walk around Flores before we headed to the airport, so we stopped here for lunch.
We were a big group and the servers attention was perfect. Their food suggestions were spot on. Everything was absolutely delicious, fresh and bursting in succulent flavors. The prices were a bargain for the quantity, quality and taste of the food. The cherry on top.... the RAMON flan, specialty dessert of the house. A MUST if you visit Flores, Peten.
5 starts definitely coming back. Happy tummy.

Welcome to our little lovely cave made with love... Or visit our sunset Terrace. There is a different and beautiful sunset every evening over Lake Peten Itza and the jungle. We offer a large range of foods, vegetarian and vegan plates available! We love to make everything from scratch. Also fresh delicious drinks, with an option for super-foods in your smoothie! Or cool off from the heat and choose from our range of ice-cream Sundae's, our personal favorite being the salted caramel popcorn.. :) If you love art and color, then our restaurant is perfect for you. Our restaurant is FULL of art from artists all over the world. We love to use recycled materials!
We went here just for a drink to check if we want to eat there the other day. But after such a crap service we will definitely not come back. They have a sign with “Coca-Cola is slavery” or something like that but still selling it Also the prices are way to high. I can get the same stuff in Germany for those prices with a nicer waitress! I hope they pay their local employees the same salary as well and that the high prices are not just sponsoring their expert life in Guatemala.
Aaahhhh yes, something good The fresh juice was really nice!!!

Sorry to report that this restaurant didn't deliver. We can here based on a recommendation from our travel agent.
We ordered 4 dishes and they can be rated from mediocre to tasteless.
We seldom leave food on the plate and this was the case for all but one of us.
275Q after tip for a party of 4.
The only positives were that the one beer I had was cold and that we didn't get sick.

Drinks were decent but kind of pricy and inconsistent in flavor. View was awesome especially at sunset with all the birds. Music was strange- I think they played multiple Paris Hilton songs. If you get a long island ice tea be careful. Seating is all uncomfortable, prepare to just stand and lean on the balcony, unless it rains.
