Since its outer Vinandro makes you understand what it means to be every day of the year , a true bastion of traditional Tuscan and Florentine , the real one , starting by the sign retro Vinandro Wine and Desco Springs , and the affable smile Alexander , owned and operated for over 10 years offers the best of authentic and original cuisine of Pubs and Taverns Florence of the past , as an Innkeeper of the old Florence that the door of the shop you would invite to sit reciting vernacular : "Revenue gentlemen , here we serve people who went , dinners and snacks with wine in decline , and is eaten by the King , generous portions at reasonable prices ! " Environments in warm colors , the marble counter , a carpenter's level and barrels turned into tables will remind the taverns of the past , projected lights historic lamps but an hour of dinner will give way to the lighted candles on each table . Enter smoothly into the rhythm of another era , where , after hanging jackets and coats all'attaccapanni , chances are you are to divide the wooden table with other people and socialize freely with them as you did before , because spaces I'm small , and if you are a group we always advise to book . Vinandro Slow Food is a point , then know that any food on your plate will be fresh and genuine , typically produced in our land because we aim to safeguard and promote the local culture of Florence and Tuscany in general. Vinandro , although not in the way a wine tight , it has an excellent selection of wines from the house wine , served in pouring from a small barrel resting on the counter , to the famous Brunello di Montalcino , through craft beer . E ' strictly forbidden to take sugary carbonated drinks , cola or similar , because' you risk to annoy the landlord . Vinandro is open for lunch and dinner , and for some good snacks , every day of the year , from noon to midnight and during the warmer months you can make use of the outdoor tables on the most beautiful square in Fiesole , Piazza Mino , 33 .
Based on previous reviews we decided to make our way here from the Aurora bar Terrace (great place for an aperitivo pre dinner). We hadn't booked, but they were more than accommodating and let us eat and drink till their 930pm guests arrived. My wife had the Pici with ragú (she swapped the pasta and sauce option to create it with no hassle) and I had the Tagliata di Manzo with rucola and grana. Both delicious and washed down with a passable Brunello. Well priced and attentive service.

Located on one of the most panoramic terraces of Fiesole, La Reggia degli Etruschi (once a monastery and later a tearoom) is today one of the most exclusive restaurants in the city with a breathtaking view over Florence and its monuments. We do not serve bar we are just restaurant
One of best meals and Italian steakhouses ever. Had 2 porterhouses for our table of six. Meat was thin sliced and accompanied with various sides. Served after our primi piati of several pasta dishes. And followed up with excellent dessert pasties. Great meal and wonderful service. Only problem was steep climb from Piazza in Fiesole to reach restaurant. Can call for shuttle to transport you and group up hill. Highly recommend this place for a romantic and pleasurable evening.

I brought a group of 14 Americans and 2 Italians here. I remembered that the meat was good from when I lived in Italy but this time it was truly exceptional and many said it was the best steak they had ever had. Even people who do not like to eat their meat rare ate it and enjoyed it. The fried polenta with chicken livers was also very popular with the group as well as the fried zucchini flowers and fried artichokes. After a lunch here we didn't even have to think about eating dinner and the price was right as well. If you go to Fiesole, this is a must, although the drive up from Fiesole is not for the faint of heart.

We were staying nearby at Agriturismo Montereggi and he suggested we eat here, at first we weren't sure as they don't speak English but after some sign language (menu is in English so lots of pointing) we ended up with a lovely meal and fab chianti.
Try the Wild Boar with Olives - melts in your mouth and the Tiramisu was light and perfect.
We arrived at around 11pm and were treated as though it was 8pm no fuss about the time.

After staying 2 nights in Florence we decided after looking at the reviews from the views seen from firsole we decided to have dinner. We chose terrazza 45 for the reviews but we were highly disappointed. We managed to get the last table but this was situated behind a wall. The service was very poor, never got asked for drinks or given a menu we had to ask for it. Didn't ask us if our meal was good and the waitresses were heavy handed and seemed to drop everything onto our table. The views however were amazing but that's about it. I had the fried dough balls with ham and cheese were ok. For main course I had the sea bass again was ok needed some sauce. But we were indecisive about having dessert ( maybe we should have stuck with our gut feeling) but we decided to share the creme brûlée as this is my partners favourite, but this must have been the worst creme brûlée I've ever seen. It was inedible, overlooked, curdled, and watery. (Being a dessert chef myself this was a disaster of a dessert) we told the waitress who was very apologetic, and offered us a complimentary drink, but we just wanted to get the hell out of there. I wouldn't be going back.

We returned to Cave di Maiano last week for a memorable meal with our teenage kids. Our last visit was in 1999, before children. The food, the ambiance of the Terrace, the twinkling lights of Florence in the background, were all just as we remembered. We enjoyed the bruschetta, the very rare steak, the fritto misto, the fagioli, the house wine, and excellent tiramisu and millefeuille for dessert. The staff was tickled when we told them that we were back after 18 years, and they gave us a bottle of wine as a parting gift when we left. It was great to get out of over-run Florence and into the countryside.

We were visting Fiesole, having taken the no.7 public bus from central Florence. There are many restaurants in the town, several looking out towards Florence. The views are picturesque of Florence. A local shop keeper recommended the Piatti e Fagotti restaurant against the many more touristic restaurants in thetown of Fiesole. We got back on the bus 7 and get off in Piazza San Domenica, 5 minutes down the hill from Fiesole, direction Florence.
It was a very hot day so we ate in the air conditioned restaurant. Eating outside will be very pleasant on a summer evening.
We shared three Pastas (Primo) between the 3 of us. All dishes were freshly prepared and very tasty. For main course we had a large mixed salad, which came well presented with a mix of leaves etc., and rabbit dish. Rabbit was tender and well seasoned. We had the house red half carafe. Service was efficient and friendly.
I think this would be a great restaurant to go to in the evening if you want a nice bus trip of short drive out of city centre Florence.
After lunch we went for a fairly strenuous steep walk up to a look out to take some pictures over Florence, picking out all the main landmarks. The waiter recommended the view. The visit ended jumping on the next No. 7 back into central Florence.

We went to this place after we saw some of the reviews on tripadvisor. It is really one of those places where you get to eat simple tasty food. The menu is not big, but whatever we tasted was great. The tagliere with mixed meat and cheese is a must. It is really big though, so always share. We shared it in three. Pasta was also good. Definitely going back to try the rest of the menu. Prices are more than ok , given the quality and the amount of the food.

Artisanal Italian gelato at its finest.
We visited this place after Reading all the reviews online and the reality didn't disappoint! The shop itself was really thoughtfully decorated and there was a good choice of flavours, including some more unusual ones like Cafe Mocha. The gelato was home made and the owners clearly know what they are doing - I can't think of many places where I've been treated to such creamy, authentic ice cream! It's slightly off the beaten track but worth venturing from the city centre for.
