Ever seen a movie or TV show that takes place in Austria? Then you’ve probably seen Ellmau. Charming villages, idyllic scenery and an 18th-century parish church make Ellmau a popular filming location for directors who want a setting that’s quintessentially Austrian. For regular folks, Ellmau’s draw is its proximity to the Wilder Kaiser mountains, where the hiking trails and ski slopes are equally spectacular.

We come here for many years and again tge food is very good and fresh. Kewan our waiter for many evenings is very friendly. Soltan always has a big smile on his face and also very nice. You can make some changes jn you dish or add an ingedient if you like. Nothing is to much for this place. For us still a perfect place.

We enjoyed a terrific and very reasonably priced lunch at this lovely traditional restaurant before descending the toboggan run next door back down to Ellmau. The food was spot on for regional choice, excellent quality, and at very decent prices. Have a Spritz Aperol and soak in the scenery ...it doesnt get much better than this spot!

We decided to celebrate in this restaurant a birthday and we're happy of our choice. Their menu is absolutely delicious and harmonic. Service were really friendly a we enjoyed our dinner. They cooked for us also some sweet surprise for a birthday occasion. It's very expensive restaurant you should calculate with at least €100 p/P with some wine but you'll be satisfied with everything. I can recommand this restaurant for some festive occasion!

Fab food, went here for lunch after morning on the slopes and the service was average but I put that down to my lack of German but I couldn't fault their food I had a Mexican exotic burger and it was delicious, filled me up and gave me plenty more energy for an afternoon of tearing down the snowy slopes.

Stanglwirt is an amazing place with an endless array of facilities & a choice of restaurants. The whole operation is upmarket & slick. We've eaten previously in the cosy, quirky Cowshed where you overlook cows in a stall but this room is closed in summer & the cows put out to graze so on this visit we dined in the 400 year old Rustic Inn, another pretty, quaint & intimate room. The menu is traditional & high end with a wide ranging choice of fish, meat & veggie options. Mains average out at €25 though their Black Angus steak will set you back €42. Food was good, the environment highly appealing & service kind though we were left to look for attention towards the end.

Happened upon this little gem whilst on a 3 hour hike in pouring rain. Given a warm welcome as we dripped our way through the door. Wonderful atmosphere delightful owner and waitress. Strudel so huge and delicious, husband must have had nearly half kilo of strawberries on his torte. Nice hot coffee followed by apricot schnapps - husband enjoyed the Weiss bier. Highly recommended !

A new adapted restaurant in old-wood style with a small wine bar and 50 seats in two guest areas. A modern Lounge with leather furniture, a big 3D screen and smooth music invites you to relax. Parking area at the restaurant. There is an outdoor dining area in summer with 50 extra seats to enjoy the sun.

Noticeably cheaper than places higher up and less tucked away. Generous portions too. Sit outside under the eaves or in the deckchairs pointed at the sun. There’s a little Terrace up a few steps.
Large beer 3.30 tea with milk 2.10. The milk came in its own little glass bottle - very cute, and much nicer than a little plastic pot.
Leberkäse and chips with a fried egg on top. 6.80
Salad with Putenstreifen - strips of Turkey 7.00
Coffee 2.50
All good except the coffee - a bit insipid for my taste, but then my taste runs to espresso.
