I've been here recently on a Wednesday night to have some dinner. The weather was good so we had dinner on the Terrace outside. We had some bread with garlic butter and some other sauces to begin and as main course I had a Turkey steak with fries and a salad. Everything tasted good, especially the steak which was covered with cranberry and pineapple sauce (sounds weird but it's good!). As a desert I had a wafel with ice cream which tasted excellent but the plate could have been a bit bigger. Personnel was friendly and helpful. This grand cafe used to be a bank which you can still see in the interior and the menus have all kind of financial terms.
Overall a very good experience so I can really recommend this restaurant!

Gringo’s has known times when the interior was innovative and food surprising. Those times are disappearing: ambiance lively but too loud and bad acoustics. Steaks lower quality than they used to be, and smaller than they used to be against higher prices. Salad must have been prepared and held in the fridge for a long time: no fresh salad leaves, taste of refrigerator humidity dominating, the masking with thick dressing did not take that away.Fries were nice but served not completely hot anymore. Price-quality levels have gone out of balance too: price too high for what is offered. We said the salad was not tasting ok and not nice. We got apologiesand she would tell the chef. No solution offered and were fully charged. After almost 20 years of returning to Gringo’s, we will have to let go of Gringo’s.

This restaurant used to be a Irish pub style bar, but after an extensive make-over and adding a new kitchen with special Mibrasa grill it now also offers delicious meals.
We had a small lunch during a day shopping in Doetinchem at this restaurant, and immediately booked our evening diner for the same night.
The menu is good, and preperation is excellent.

Klein restaurant in de gezellige Grutstraat in Doetinchem. De enige echte sushi zaak in Doetinchem. Entourage leuk maar niet top. Sushi heerlijk. Alles vers. Wok. Specialiteiten matig.
Ga er sushi eten daar ligt de kracht!

We had our valentines day dinner at this restaurant this year. The whole entourage was excellent, they had hart shaped confetti and candles on all the tables very cozy!
Outside the Carnaval parties where going on, but the atmosphere inside was a perfect mix of quite and cheerful valentines.
The waiting staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. We had the surprise 5 course Bites menu which was a very well balanced mix of different types of dishes and enough to fill but not feel bloated.
All in all a very nice restaurant and at a very reasonable price. I would absolutely recommend "De Zaak"

The restaurant is more that just another restaurant. It is a complete concept!
The interior to start with, is open plan and it is both a restaurant and a bar. This makes for an evening of fun as you can finaly stay after your dinner is done. Besides this their is also a citybrewery and they produce their own beer under then name ' Walters' (after the owner). They sell these in a blond and dark variant. Really tasty!
The food is well priced and often created out of local ingredients. Also they use their own beers as part of the dish. This creates a good mix for everyone.
The staffing is good also. Even when it is busy (like on the evening we went) the food comes on time (not too fast but definately not too slow either). What is more important is that they are flexible. If you wish them to slightly change the dish that is ok.
All in all a very good experience that we will for sure repeat.

Italian restaurant Stretto (Eten & Drinken) is situated close to the market square in the centre of Doetinchem. When we visited them we were lucky with the weather and could sit at a table on the Terrace. Where you can observe all the 'passers-by' and have a great meal at the same time...
To be honest: when I look at the menu and see spaghetti with truffle(sauce) I don't have to look further. And it was a good choice at Stretto: a perfect portion and deliciously tasting and well served. The staff seem to enjoy themselves very much and you can sense that in their service, very helpfull without being to intrusive.
Fancy an Italian cuisine in Doetinchem: Stretto's the place to be.

Fine dining in Doetinchem. Professionally taken care of for hours on end. Great wine knowledege, fantastic menu with all the boxes ticked. Starters, main courses and desserts. Our group of around fifteen was always served at the same time, the plates were immaculately set, this was a night to remember. Reccommended!
