This place was awesome. We had great traditional German food and drink. I had the greek salad that had so many olives and so much feta cheese on it that I thought I was not going to finish it. The variety is good on the menu. There is a locals table so you know it is frequented by the locals.

We had Sunday lunch there. Hubby had the duck which was quite well cooked in comparison with other restaurants we've been to of the same price category. I had a salad, which was quite the standard German version of a salad, and my father in law ordered the ramschnitzel. The plate swam in sauce, also quite standard in German dishes, but the sauce really tasted severely of rama butter.
We ordered kaiserschmarn for dessery and it was probably the worst one I had ever eaten. It was already cold and dry and at times very salty, leaving me to think that the salt was added as an afterthought and not stirred through properly.
The location is lovely though and we had a lovely view of the Mountains and the lake.

Essen’s art is set in a lovely area of Diessen a short walk from the lake. The menu is full of hearty Bavarian food and served in a nice modern environment, with nice airy decor. Staff are friendly and the food is served quickly.
Only downsides are that two dishes we chose were sold out and despite clearly seeing a credit card machine, we were to,d that only cash was accepted...

We visited here to have a lunch. The place is in front of Ammersee which was really nice place to have a open-air lunch. Seeteufel was simply great Bayerish food (I separate it from typical German food) which I think has some similarity with Austrian Tyrol food. Anyway, I definitely recommend here. Not only the food but waitresses were also very friendly and kind. Guests were equally friendly.

Wir waren mit 15 Personen am 2ten Weihnachtsfeiertag hier. Es war voll aber alles sehr entspannt, freundliche Bedienung und hell und schön dekorierte Räume! Sehr gute bayrische Kost zu fairen Preisen. Alle acht verschiedene ausgewählte Gerichte wurden hoch gelobt, keine Ausreißer nach unten. Freundliche Bedienung.

We visited the place on the Sylvester evening with close friends. The ordinary menus were not available but they offered a well coordinated Sylvester menus in a là carte style so that every one had a choice of tapas, main dish and desserts. We picked four different kinds of tapas followed by meat and fish dishes as main. All tapas (beef Tataki, Iberico pork ham, stewed beef, grilled salted paprika) tasted really good and authentic. Honestly speaking we didn’t expect such good Tataki in a Spanish location in Munich suburbs. The lamb and the tuna had both high quality of freshness.
The kind gift of bread in pork figure tasted like a brioche and good too, I recognized that the owner of this restaurant does not save the cost even in the details. We would definitely come back for a regular tapas evening.

We had a late afternoon visit in Diessen and stopped here for pizza. We were the first customers at that time as they just opened for dinner. Well the place sure filled up quickly!!! It was full and alot of families ! We had pizza and I can say it was delicious! I asked for some hot sauce and the waiter brought me two different delicious homemade Italian hot sauces..one with garlic and the other with peppers! The service was good and the staff friendly.If in Diessen..do make a stop there! Not only for pizza but they had other dishes as well on the menu that looked just as delicious!

Das Wirtshaus am Kirchsteig ist ein ganz einfaches Wirtshaus, wie es früher in jedem Dorf eines gegeben hat und wie man es sich wünscht aber selten findet. Vor dem Haus ein Biergarten unter alten Kastanien und einer Linde. Die urige Gaststube rundet das Bild.
Die Speisekarte ist überschaubar, dafür werden die Gerichte jeweils von einem Koch frisch zubreitet, der sein Handwerk versteht. Ordentliche Getränkekarte aber nicht überkandidelt. Die Preise sind der Lage angemessen und akzeptabel.
Wir kommen immer gern hierher zum Abschluss einer Wanderung in der schönen südlichen Ammerseegegend.
Parkplätze auf der Straße vor dem Wirtshaus.

Local Italian Bar in the middle of Diessen. Franco and his wife are the main hosts and take great care of you while you are in Diessen. Great drink, good quality, super friendly people. highly recommended.
