Cheap menu available (20 Euro)
1)soup
2)mix of satébrochette, springroll and salad
3)main dish served with rice
4)lychees or icecream
The food is nothing to write home about, not really good... Maggi/glutamate taste is predominant.
Springroll wasn't well fried, not crisp enough but much too greasy.
Icecream had a weird taste.
House wine is of bad quality.
Service is ok but the lady seemed to be kind of tired and bored.
Restaurant makes an uncomfortable impression concerning hygienic standards, especially after visiting the restroom.

Our Luxembourgish friends told us we have to go to Du Commerce and have their filet, served on really hot stone. On the hot stone raw filet turns medium and if You are slow, finally well done (too well done).
Filet was very high quality. They also served some salad, which would be more sensible to carry to table first. Round table for five persons is rather small, and as You have be very careful with those hot stones, I forgot to eat those salad and sauces. Potato gratin was very good.
This could have been excellent meal, but those late salads and small table drop it just to very good. Their wines are also bit overpriced to Luxembourgish average.

Close to the church in Diekirch you can enjoy BBQ specials Portuguese style.
The friendly Portuguese owners take care of their clients which come to this restaurant in order to enjoy large servings of grilled fish or meat specials (even horse meat is served with a delicious spicy sauce).
Another dish to order would be "Cordon bleu sauce crème champignons" (meat stuffed with cheese and ham, creamy mushroom sauce).
My favorite dish : "scampis grillés" (grilled prawns in garlic sauce).
The decoration of the busy restaurant is ok, but here the focus is on food.
Nice wines from Luxembourg and Portugal are served for correct prices.

Why has this restaurant not had more reviews. The food was excellent, plentiful and beautifully presented. It was so good we went twice and we were only staying in the area for two nights! The first night we had pasta and pizza which was excellent together with a surprise entree. Then we saw someone have the steak which looked superb so we went back the following night and it sure was. One of the best steaks I have had. My wife likes hers medium and hers was cooked the French medium way which was a bit rare but nothing was too much trouble and her steak was taken away and cooked to her liking. The staff were very helpful and attentive and our wine glasses were always kept topped up even on a busy Saturday night. We would go more often if it were not for the fact we live in a different country!!!

We ate on the Terrace on a hot evening. Wonderful thin handmade pizzas, and extremely well-priced local beers. Didn't order the seafood, but wished we had - it looked superb.
The reasons it isn't five-star: corners looked grubby; flies were a nuisance throughout the meal; and lots of customers were smoking around us. While the latter points are not the restaurant's fault, it did just take the edge off the visit. Would nonetheless recommend.

Very friendly and attentionate staff. Sushis were delicious. We had a wonderful evening and we paid a little more than 30 euros a person (including a bootle of chardonnay). Looking forward to try something else from the menu next time.

We were in a long bike ride form Luxembourg and decided to have lunch in this place (after 60km). We were hungry but certainly the servings are generous and we did not leave the pace hungry.
The food is certainly Portuguese and is properly cooked. I had octopus and it was tender and tasty. Other people liked the cod a la maison and the meat in general. Lasagna was also good. The side servings of salad and fries are also generous. Good overall
Prices are OK albeit not on the side of economic. The lunch for 2 was 50 euros with just the main, beer and coffee
Service was pleasant and attentive although I would had liked to get out of there a bit faster (but we were a large group)
It was quite an effort to re-take our way back (another 40K) after lunch! A good cup of espresso helped

We had our best meal in Luxembourg in this small Portuguese restaurant on the main street in Diekirch. As we recall, it's just around the corner and down the street from the National Museum of Military History. Portions were huge and everything was absolutely delicious. My husband had mussels provencale, and I had shrimp in garlic butter (their specialty). Service was great and prices were very reasonable. Our only regret is that we didn't eat here on our first night in town, as we would have gladly returned!

I recently discovered this restaurant on trip advisor and gave it a try. Result: totally convinced!! The owner is a butcher as well and the meat selection is above average
10/10 for the service
8/10 for the food: home made fries, vitello tonnato is the best I ever ate with incredibely tender meat, tartare good but not the best I ever ate (therefore 10)
10/10 for the wine selection
Will return for sure!

Venti29nove is a small wine store which still sells wine but they have also very successfully converted it into a (small) charming restaurant with a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. They also have some tables outdoors when the weather permits. The delicious Italian food is nicely presented and the service is very friendly. Obviously they have a fine selecton of wines too. We have been there for lunch as well as dinner, and we have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. So we recommend it without any reservation.
