Staying in a quiet village in the area, we were trying to find our ideal local restaurant. A quick look on Trip Advisor and found La Magnanerie. We were not disappointed. Set in rolling countryside with a view over Cordes, which at night was quite spectacular. The menu offered sufficient choice and all courses were beautifully presented, If not a little different to what we expected but tasted wonderful. The waiter, who was working alone was happy to advise, efficient and friendly. This is not a cheap option but not expensive either and well worth a visit.

As it was very very hot (39 °) we didn't dress up. Still you are emerged into the atmosphere. Very friendly service. Nice copious meal. Loved my apple pie. You eat and drink as people used to do. Nice experience in this lovely town. By the way : early july very few tourists in the evening.

We had dinner here based on a recommendation and most of the Tripadvisor reviews are favourable. Our experience however was the same as some of the recent reviewers -- the menu seemed limited, but more importantly the dishes were variable. Some were fine, some were pretty stodgy and tasteless. The place was full when we were there so perhaps they struggled with keeping up with the demand.
It was a pity as the hotel is in a good building and we had eaten here a few years before when we found the food very good, particularly for the price. Hopefully it will get its consistency back.

This is the restaurant of the Hostellerie Vieux Cordes and more reviews are found under a search of the Hotel name. Book early and try and get a table on the veranda which has stunning views over the valley.

We went to Billyssimo looking for a quick and easy meal, after Reading all the positive reviews. We can only agree with them. Our pizzas were great, the best in Cordes, the waitresses were friendly and the service fast. The only negative is the location, but hey, you can't change that, so there you go. We'll definitely eat there again, or get take away pizzas.

The spirit of Salettes is also to be found in the plates. The cooking enhances the local and traditional products, of high quality, while being resolutely modern.
The staff leave a little to be desired, the food is good this time, though choice is limited and its not a patch on the quality of our last visit. Its still very expensive. The open fire in the living room was lovely but we had to light it ourselves. It still just misses this place, some modern style some old style which works well in the living room but elsewhere just misses.

A wonderfully situated restaurant on the banks of l'Aveyron. Fantastic french food cooked with flair.
We have eaten here before and understood the restaurant to be under new ownership.
For a family group I have to say overall the restaurant was average. The food menu was small and varied. The wine list was uninteresting. The chicken was very tasty. Nicely presented though portions were small.
The turbot was delicious though the portion size was small.
The fillet was average, though over cooked, asked for medium rare received medium well, again portion size was small, Euro 28, a little rich for a main course that should be perfect.
Deserts were good, though small. Overall tasty food, small portions and felt the menu was somewhat overpriced for what we received. Wanted excellent got average.
Service was good.

Near Cordes-sur-Ciel, Gaillac & Albi, 'Lou Cantoun' the restaurant of le chef Bernard Gisquet is located in the medieval village of Cestayrols. Here you eat season products from the neighborhood and the garden of Bernard. Fresh, tasty, delicate, his cooking preserves flavors of great french local produtcs. Bon appétit !
We booked this restaurant for a Saturday when we were out visiting a few vineyards. Our three course meals varied in price between 20 something and 40 something euros. The food was enjoyable, but slightly predictable. Service was good, but the assistance in choosing a wine was somewhat limited by the almost total absence of choice.
Would I go again. Of course, perfection takes effort and I know this lot can do it.

Les Cabannes is a pleasant little village at the foothills of Cordes sur Ciel, it's very popular Tourist village neighbour. Everyone goes to Cordes for the spectacular views, medieval housing and quaint little shops - but Les Cabannes is a typical "locals" village which has a weekly market in the square, where the men play their afternoon boules or petanque and only a few shops......one of which is a fabulous little Bar and restaurant owned & operated (I think) by a young friendly couple who are eager to please. The fare is dead simple - the same 3 course meal for everyone with coffee for about E11. Sometimes a salad, maybe a soup, with cheeses too, followed by beef, lamb, pork or chicken stew or casserole or roast or whatever has been good at the markets - but always a big hearty meal which we can never finish. Truly, it's a typical French local cafe where they serve local, fresh, nutritious that morning cooked food which will satisfy the many local tradesmen (artisans), locals, tourists and villagers alike. I'm an Aussie who has lived in Cordes for 5 years and love going for a walk to Les Cabannes and having a great meal with family & friends at this venue - always enjoyable and great for the budget conscious like us!!

Don't be fooled.. From the street side, the restaurant looks a bit like a typical tourist trap... However, this is definitely not he case ! We were able to sit outside, we had a great view, the food was very nice, and the staff was really friendly. It was a sunny day in August, so you can imagine the place was crowded. However, we didn't feel any of this in the service or any waiting time. Be sure to have your lunch here when you visit the city of Cordes-sur-Ciel !
