Abandoned in the 10th century, the stunning Mayan ruins at Copan deserve as much time as you can spend there, a full day or more. Travelers recommend that you hire a guide; you'll learn so much more about this World Heritage site and its history and people than you ever could on your own. After your adventure, sip a cup of strong Honduras coffee and people-watch in the main square or just enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery.

The best typical restaurant in Copan Ruinaswith a friendly atmosphere and meals prepared at the bellows.House specialties are the famous kebabs, grilled meat, Alambrito and gringo "and is typical of the people are the burners huesillo beans and chorizo and melted. The menu includes special dishes regularly requested by our regular customers who take their behalf. We have vegetarian food. Open daily lunch and dinner from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, with an excellent view of the Copan Valley since its typical wooden second floor, do not forget your camera, as the waitresses have a true spectacle to bring food and drink on their heads, making a real juggling act! Carnitas Nia Lola is definitely the best option to eat in Copán Ruinas, nice atmosphere, affordable prices. We accept credit cards, Quetzales, Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Euros.
Is there anything this restaurant offers besides the ridiculous and humiliating gimmick of waitresses bringing beer bottles on their head upstairs? Still, it did not seem like they had anywhere close to enough people to handle the busy upstairs dining area, so service was painfully slow, and no one can tell me it is just Honduras, because the service was fine at every of the other 6 restaurants I went to in Copan. The bean dip was more show than substance, again another gimmick. Then to top it off, when I finally got my chicken platter, it was tasteless served with some pitiful-looking side. I requested Guacamole on the side which took another 15 minutes when I asked after it. Once I was done, I did not want to wait another hour to pay the check, so I went straight down to pay the bill myself. This was my worst meal in Copan and possibly one of the worst restaurant I have ever eaten it in the 77 countries I have visited :)

Over looking the lush Mountains, over looking the main Central Park. Up scale, but with a backpackers special every night ranging from $6 / $10Great for group bookings and parts.2 for 1 cocktail from 3 till 6, and good food specials. Great for birthday party's, order a home made cake from Tanya. Good music and football games. We're now open 11am to 11pm Monday to Saturday.
This spot was exactly what I needed. I had a very long travel day with a tour guide that was annoying and didn't fully speak English. So tonight I just wanted someone who understood me. That was exactly what I got. Good chicken curry, strong drinks, tasty carrot cake and staff who made me feel better about not really speaking Spanish. The spot overlooks the square for added people watching too.

Located in our interior garden, at our restaurant you can enjoy our delicious food, a cup of coffee (considered Copan's best) or savour one of our delictable fruit smoothies. We make all meals as ordered and can accommodate special requests. Try our fresh bread, yogurts, granola and famous home-made vinaigrette dressing.
Decent food and price. Tour guides are "Regulars". Chicken fajitas pretty good - bottled water and plate about $8.00 US. Stay away from fish. Copan is a tiny not much to do town aside from Copan Ruins 10 minutes away. You could do worse.Thank you very much for your review, your comments helps us to improve our service. We have a Question, you mention in your review Tour Guides? we do not offer that service at our restaurant? did someone in our restaurant offers you that service?

You Guys Have This Hotel Listed (it Is An Awesome Hotel), But They Also Have A Restaurant With Some Of The Best Food In Copan. It Should Be Listed For The Restaurant Too!
The Hacienda is a recent renovation and done with style and sensitivity. It is built on a hill overlooking the Copan valley. Lunch was served in the outdoor patio and was delicious. A hike to Los Sapos ceremonial site was a perfect post-lunch outing.

Got brought here unfortunately as part of an Intrepid group tour. Meal was vegetarian eggplant stack with salad. Pretty tasteless meal. Drink (passion fruit) was very nice though. Try sit out back. I think it's more of a bar/pub for tourists rather than an eatery.

Established 2001. Cafe San Rafael produces strictly high quality coffee and cheese. Trained baristas serve you the type of coffee you want. San Rafael also works as a deli/bistro - serving cheese platters you can pair with any wine from the list. Friendly staff, english spoken and completely affordable. Open everyday at 8 am.
Cute interior. You sit among the flowers and plants. Probably the best place in the town for a romantic dinner ;)
They make and serve great cheeses, I loved Cheddar. And the coffee smells heavenly. They serve medium roast at the café. I really enjoyed my cup of it, despite the fact I'm a dark roast lover. So I bought me a bag of dark roast to try at home hoping it's gonna be even better. It's great to get it directly from the producer.
The shop offers different types of coffee roasts, green coffee, whole bean or ground. Same with the cheeses.
Strongly recommended!!

This place is a gem! Not only is the food authentic but the owner is warm and genuine and will try to accommodate you in any way possible! Not to mention the home-brewed Hefeweizen is magic!

We were in the area on a Mission trip and found ourselves with no place to see a Sunday night Packer game. Someone in our group out found Jim's showed American football, so off we went. This is a real small place, and super open. It turns out the Clinton/Trump debate was also on, so they put them and the game on different TV's and we were able to see both.
We had just eaten dinner, so we declined food and only ordered drinks, but the food smelled so good, we decided to come back another night.
The next day, all I could think about was the smell of the pizza, so I talked the group into a return visit for dinner. The food was amazing, cooked right in front of us in huge fire ovens. We all passed the different slices around so everyone could try several. They were not big, but enough for two to split and be comfortable. Prices were low for at home, but about average here.
Recommended and would come back.
