Having family who live nearby we have been frequenting Concarneau over many years and this small quaint family run creperie just off the road that runs alongside the port, remains a favourite. From the familiar warm friendly welcome from the owner - who makes all the crepes herself - to the quick efficient service ensures you hardly wait for your delicious crepes to arrive. There is wide selection of Crêpes de Blé Noir (savoury) and Crêpes de Froment (sweet); favourites include the creamed mushroom, goats cheese and tomato; and my son's cheese, ham, tomato and chorizo one was truly decicious. All washed down with tasty local cider before moving onto the sweet crêpes. Very good value. It is now possible to reserve a table which for a small restaurant may be necessary in the high season if you wish to avoid disappointment.

Having searched Concarneau for a restaurant which was not a creperie we stumbled on L' Ancre. We were the first customers of the evening and unfortunately our French is not that brilliant. The chef attended to us and made us most welcomed and translated the menu for us. The food was excellent, filling and good value for money. It has a lovely cosy, intimate atmosphere. Although slightly off the beaten tourist trail of Concarneau it really is worth finding. So to all those Brits visiting Concarneau you must try this delightful resturant.

Although the restaurant was not busy (only us and one other couple) there was a very good atmosphere, largely because the owner/waiter was so entertaining and friendly and because the music was great. The owner speaks very little English but we communicated well with our limited French and he provided a menu in English, which helped a lot! He brought a nice appetizer of bruschettas to nibble while we decided. In the end we shared a goat's cheese parcel with cured ham and salad (about 8 euros) then I had the fish of the day (21 euros) whilst my husband enjoyed his first taste of kangaroo in a beef and kangaroo skewers dish (18euros). A shared apple crumble dessert cost 6.5 euros. All the food was superbly cooked and presented with delicious accompaniments. With wine and coffee the bill came to about 90 euros - not the cheapest but a fair price for the quality of meal and a very enjoyable evening.

It was the last Friday night on our holiday and we fancied something different for dinner. Have to say the lamb tangine was cooked superb and with some lovely cous cous we enjoyed our meal in this lovely little restaurant which has full bedoin type tent interior and morrocan painted ceilings. Very clean and friendly helpful staff. We had our 3 year old daughter with us who just enjoyed her child meal so much. The waiter even whilst still working managed to drive us back to our campsite after our meal as no taxis were available. Now that's service!! Thanks for a great experience!!

Whenever we visit Concarneau we try to have dinner at La Coquille ; the place is a bit hidden in a corner of the harbour, so if you come from the city center to get there don't pay too much attention to the road signs which claim only profesional users should move forward ( coming from the east is a bit easier ) .
If the weather helps you might have a first drink outside , with a nice view towards the Villle Close and the harbour , but we don' t recomend to have dinner outside because we are in Brittany and evenings tend to be fresh .
Last time we were there we had the menu which was interesting with some space for improvement . The ceviche of red snappers ( rougets ) was tasty but slightly oily , the half lobsters tasted great but were quite small. Deserts were outstanding .
That nigh the lady (owner ) in charge of the dining room was not there , so her husband (owner) tried to oversee the kitchen and the dining room and that was a bit too much to run smoothly . Although they have a very experienced head waitress they also had a bunch of young aprentices who still have a lot to learn . With a bit of patience everything came out fine but with delays and some reminders .

We loved this restaurant so much that we went there twice. The food was delicious, the owner is lovely and welcoming and the location is perfect. The crepes were really yummy. We had a gorgeous sea view from our table.

If you're visiting Concarneau you need to visit this creperie for lunch. My husband and I enjoyed an beautiful 3 course meal here and enjoyed every last morsel. The service was excellent, the price was so reasonable and the atmosphere was brilliant. I just wish we lived closer so we could go back!

New restaurant in Concarneau - just fantastic
This was one of the best meals I have had in France - virtually Michelin Star quality at a reasonable price. The menu was very innovative and the food beautifully presented.
The service was excellent and the choice of wines was also very good. Certainly worth a visit.
