The Filberg Tea House has had some excellent food choices over the past three years. Healthy and yet generous. The Chef that has been working out of this facility is Mark Joneson of Comox Valley Catering. I have been enjoying his meals for years, through different venues that he works out of and through privately catered events.
I think the meals Mark serves go great with the Filberg theme, and grounds and Tea house and especially during the famous Filberg Festival.
Hope to continue to enjoy the great meals by Chef Mark for years to come !! Thank you to Becky too, the organizer behind the great Chef!!
Really have enjoyed our meals here !!

Living on the North Island we quite often spend the night in Courtenay to load up on groceries and do some shopping. After a long day and not knowing where to eat my husband remembered Griffin being near the base. Not letting the packed parking lot deter us we managed to find a table inside. We'd walked into Wacky Wednesday appy night. I chose deep fried dill pickles, spring rolls and deep fried Mac & cheese bites. My husband had chicken wings and my Mom ordered the Clubhouse & fries. All I can say is WOW. As busy as it was our order came quickly and the food was hot & delicious !!! Live piano music in the background and loads of interesting Air Force memorabilia on the walls to look at. Friendly servers and a nice atmosphere. Obviously very popular with locals & Air Force personnel. We'll be back for sure.

My 9 year old discovered golf this holiday so we wanted to take him to a club. Lots of golf clubs have a snooty reputation so we were a little concerned but Longlands was very friendly and encouraging. They rented us clubs and we really enjoyed the golf. Think the holes are 50-150 yards. Lots of people laughing, trying to improve but not taking themselves too seriously. We stayed for a meal and it was very good too.

The restaurant has changed significantly in the past couple years since new owners took over. The ambiance used to be so much fun and revolved with the seasons...a lot of extra work, yes, so it is understandable to reduce that extra chore. Most importantly though is the food is not as good, not cooked as well, less of it and just so so.

We are a modern West Coast Italian restaurant featuring our local farms, wineries and fisherman. Our fresh pasta is made in house daily and all our food is done from scratch.
All I can say is wow this guy can cook. We had dinner for 6 last night and everything that we had was exceptional. We started with a round of appetizers, creole prawns (incredible flavour and cooked perfect) and the muscles and clams (so good...MoreThank you for taking the time to share your experience!

Two of us stopped for lunch. I had probably one of the best seafood chowders I have ever had. Great size pieces of fish, shrimp, clams. The base was very tasty...overall bursting with flavor. This place is so good. Food always amazing, the only problem is it is so noisy and there
is not much room. Best times is when you can sit outside in the good weather. The breakfasts are wondeful. The potatoes are mixed with yams etc and are so tasty. They also had spicey sausages you can order with it. Been many many times.

Like walking into a little piece of Japan. The staff are so friendly and professional. It even smells like Japan! Lots of Japanese products (Calpis?! WOW) and the sushi is just so lovely. It is the best we've had in the valley. Large menu, so much variety and so polite. I just can't say enough good things about this place. I highly recommend!

Been to Martine's many times, but this time was disappointing. I had the Sunday special prime rib with all the trimmings. The beef was tender, if a little under-seasoned, but the Yorkshire was bizarre. It was completely solid, about the texture of butter and flavourless. Over all, the food was good, but not up to Martine's usual standard.
Expensive for the quality. Martine's is a bit noisier than most restaurants in town, but Sunday night entertainment was way over the top. Gave up trying to have a conversation. I don't know if the entertainer was good or not, I knew she was playing, but was drowned out by the ambient noise.
