Colvá is a coastal village in Salcete, south Goa, on the west coast of India. Colva Beach stretches for around 2.4 kilometres (1.5 mi), part of a beach consisting of about 25 kilometres (16 mi) of powder white sand, lined along its shore by coconut palms and extending from Bogmalo in the north to Cabo de Rama in the south.

Firstly loved the decor, but found the noise levels to be super loud. At times trying to converse with our friends was a challenge.
The service was in my opinion is staged. I had read a number of reviews that differed between don't bother, to amazing. Personally I would say it depends what you are looking for. There was live music but where we sat nearer to the bar, some of the time it was so loud I was unable to differentiate the tune which was a shame. My intention would have been to dance. However, the music goes off early - this could be to do with local by laws. Either way, if you want to dance - eat early and you can enjoy the entertainment.
We chose a variety of starters and mains - most were good. The ones I found to be below standard were a plate of squid that was chewy (overcooked), and a main of a prawn curry which tasted sour and had around an inch and a half of the gravy and a few measly prawns at the bottom of the bowl. Had we not been hosting for our friends it would have gone back to the kitchen.
Having read another review on ordering a gin and tonic with ice and lemon - I had the same experience in that - they took an age after giving me the gin and the tonic to sort out the ice and lemon - they had to be asked twice. For a high end restaurant this should not occur.
Overall we were glad we had tried it but wouldn't jump up and down to go back as the food elsewhere is better in a lot of cases.
In a nutshell style over substance comes to mind

Stayed in Sea Coin hotel in Colva, Goa and naturally had to avail the complementary breakfast in 49er's only which is in the same campus and perhaps under the same ownership. It was also easy for me to take lunch and dinner there. Prior to coming Goa I had read much about this famous restaurant. During lunch hour i.e. during day time, it was like any other normal restaurant. Items were not much pricey, so was the taste - not extraordinary. Customers were both Indian and foreigners. Service was not swift, though staff quite courteous. In the evening, there was live music - both Hindi and English to be sung by a guy. Next day it was live duet by male and female performers. The best part of the restaurant is that it is open till 04.00 a.m. In the morning it opens first for the captive customers i.e guests of the Sea Coin Hotel till 10.30 for breakfast, thereafter for general customers. The restaurant is an important landmark near Colva beach, however, there are some very good other restaurants - both veg and non-veg nearby. One area where this restaurant needs immediate improvement is its service which is not prompt.

We have eaten at Fishka on many occasions and never been disappointed. Service is excellent, choice varied and atmosphere great. This year we had a table booked for Valentine’s night the place was packed. There was a saxophonist playing who was very good and each table was given a red rose. Food was excellent. Highly recommended!

Personal service by Sam himself. you can call and order the fish you want and if they keep you waiting too long they even give you prawn wafers as starters on the house so you arent so hungry.

As far as the beach shack the staff are friendly helpful the food is great and I can recommend the full English for breakfast and the fresh fish for lunch. They are also open for dinner we had Valentine's dinner on the beach watching the sun set ..magical.

Went here twice for dinner with family and friends. Probably the nicest restaurant in Colva. It was run by a couple from the East Midlands who trained at the College of Food and Art in Birmingham. Lovely food and very well presented. Would highly recommend this place.

Sandpat beach shack is set back a little bit on Colva Beach. Sandra, who runs the shack with her husband Patrick, is a lovely, friendly lady and the freshly cooked food is always good, especially the BBQ chicken with beautiful home made chips. The portions are Go down to the circle at the end of the main street in Colva, cross the bridge and turn right. Sandpat is about 300m down on the left hand side.
