This place is beautiful, from its log verandas and connecting Bridges and stairs, its hammocks, and breath-taking views of the ocean. The feeling is like visiting fun friends in a beach house, yet you feel safe - the staff makes sure that guests have fun yet behave and respect others. Breakfast is simple yet very tasty, with bread, dulce-de-leche, home-made fig jam, cereal, yogurt, and plenty of coffee. They also provide you with chairs, umbrellas, and towels for the beach. The location is excellent, in front of the beach and 3 blocks from "downtown" and a grocery store. They also have bicycles and surfboards. Next to the pool there's a room with billiard and darts to hang out with friends. The hostel also has a restaurant, which serves excellent meat.

Very good steak and polite and good service.
However it is a bit slow and the inside of the restaurant is a bit dark. Tables and chairs are not very comfortable and the bathrooms not so clean.
The side dishes (we had salad and rice) are very mild, but the rice was prepared to order which is good. Don`t waist time ordering coffee....

The food is wonderful, the staff friendly and attentive. Great to eat lunch and people watch. We had the parrilla sausage and the a great cut of beef. Not on the menu, but they have a great vino tinto available by the cuppa or jarra.

We were staying for the night in Chuy on the way back from Punta del Este to Porto Alegre and asked in the hotel for an indication for dinner. There are not many options in Chuy so we had no great expectations. We were told that the best place for a pizza was the restaurant Il Forte. Getting there we were welcomed with a carefull attention and an informal but nice environment. The best was the "half meter" pizza, where it is possible to combine 3 different tastes of pizza. Not exagerating, it was among the best pizzas we have ever tasted. The squared pizza is served in a hot stone base, so it keeps the cheese melted all the time. Need to go.
