Directed here by our hotel porter, as a good place to buy wine. What a find!
Sat at a small table with a snack and a nice glass of wine whilst helpful staff helped you navigate the myriad of wines. Purchased 3 bottle of good wine and a bottle of grappa, plus snack plus wine all for 103 Euro. Delighted.

GELATERIA ISLANDA IS A CHILDHOOD DREAM.
THE DREAM OF A CHILD WHO ASKED FOR AND RECEIVED AN ICE-CREAM MAKER AS A GIFT FOR HIS EIGTH BIRTHDAY, AND WHO NEVER STOPPED CREATING EVERY POSSIBLE ICE-CREAM FLAVOR FOR HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS' JOY.
A CHILD WHO GREW UP AND WENT TO WORK IN A BANK, AND ONE DAY DECIDED TO QUIT BEING AN ADULT, SO THAT HE COULD MAKE HIS CHILDHOOD DREAM COME TRUE.
We are spending a couple of weeks in and around Bologna and have been to quite a few gelaterias. We were just coming back from our walk to San Luca when we happened to notice Islanda. Immediately chose the Ricotta and Pear - unusual pairing we thought at first but not after tasting it.

It's a nice and family environment. Quick and friendly service. We decided to try the sea food and was an excellent choice. We started with raw tuna and calamarata. Second dish a fresh fish cooked in the Owen with potatoes and tomatoes, fantastic!
Last but not the least: watermelon sorbetto.

I've been here with some friends from university and I was really surprised to discover such a great restaurant so near the places I frequent almost daily.
First of all, I really appreciated the quality of the pasta they served. If you want to try some good traditional pasta, this is the best place ever.
Secondly, the prices are great: around 10 € for a plate of pasta or a selection of tigelle. And believe me when I say that it's really convenient.
In conclusion, I especially love the interior decorations and the atmosphere that they were able to create: the rooms are bright and relaxing, the details are really cured and the waiters are nice.
Next time I'll stop by, 'cause I'll stop by again for sure, I would love to see some lasagne on their menu!

When the waiting line for ice cream runs out into the street you know they must be doing something right. It seems like they are doing everything right. I have been told that within the historical city center of Bologna there are at least 50 ice cream shops. Once I tried the ice cream at Cremeria Funivia I haven't gone elsewhere. Just fabulous, with a large variety of flavors, ranging from Italian style to very fruity. If you have an ice cream craving make it to this spot. It' s only about 5 minutes by foot from Piazza Maggiore on Cavour Park. The lines may be long, but they have a very efficient system for serving, and it is definitely worth any wait you might encounter.

This is now considered by many one of y the best ice-cream in the Bologna area, and for good reasons. Always dependable, worth a detour if you are driving in the area. Parking is sometimes a bit of a problem but not too much. The location is very much off the beaten path. Nothing interesting nearby but you could be passing by on your way to/from a trip to eat crescentine e tigelle in the hills nearby. Perhaps a bit too sweet for my tastes but surely an outstanding ice cream. The zabaione montato is to die for.

I have been here twice recently with my family. Fantastic pizza and service. One of the best restaurants in the area and great value for money. Staff are brilliant

Very disappointing, the pasta tasted frozen, the filetto was nothing more than cheap frying stack defrosted! There were no flavours and no seasoning!
The price was high for the quality... The staff friendly-ish! But with just four tables in service and 11 clients it took an hour and half to produce our two pasta dishes and two secondi!
Not gonna go back!

Very nice welcome and after an Italian explanation of the handwritten menu, the cook came from the kitchen to give an English explanation. The food is prepared with a great eye for detail and tastes very good. Little surprises completed the dinner. The place is well decorated and for sure worth a visit.

La Dolce Vita offers over 80 varieties, tastes and flavors, with which you can create a menu 'complete, from appetizers to desserts, not to mention salads and Italian pastries. You can also decide whether you prefer the thin and crispy pizza or thick and soft, choosing between normal, pull, double dough or giant. A new concept of pizza: share the pizzas is a new way to have fun at the table.
The menu offers a simple yet deliciously amazing food options. We were strolling the streets looking for a place nearby and found this gem of a place. If you like Italian food this place can not disappoint you.Goodmorning FredDee87 thank you so much for your beatiful words, see you on your next trip in our beatiful country. Marco.
