Tiny, hidden bays line the coast around sleepy Cadaques, creating a series of private beaches near the French border. Thanks to their boat-only access, an afternoon of swimming and sunbathing without crowds is as simple as hiring a skiff and cruising the rocky shoreline.

We noticed this place because it was close to our pension, a small garden restaurant off the main strip. The service is excellent, and the food was amazing. You have to try the bourride de sepia, was recommended and did not disappoint. Everything else lovely as well!

Tito of the restaurant's name is in fact now owner of Hotel Arrels where we were staying. Did he or his wife push their own restaurant? No. They told us Compartir was not to be missed and to go to Casa Pilar for the best paella in town - and it was extremely good. But we decided to try Can Tito and we actually think the black rice is even better than a very delicious paella. It's richer and with a more concentrated flavour. Hubby loved it. I was going for grilled squid but then decided to be brave and try the prawns with eggs. Definitely unusual and I can't work out how the eggs were cooked, but they were perfectly runny and the prawns themselves sweetly delicious. What made it for me was the Spanish cheesecake. I was trying to describe it and the waitress (Tito's daughter) asked if was it anything like pannacotta. Well, yes - and her homemade version was truly yummy. It's pictured here by a previous visitor with a rich sweet sauce and biscuit crumb. You really can't get it anywhere other than Spain - and her mum (Nanda, at Hotel Arrels) has given me the recipe! The restaurant has a lovely old interior, though not on the seafront so no sea view, and an excellent bottle of strong red wine (recommended) made a for a good evening.

Had an outstanding lunch at one of the two tables on the patio. Served by two young women who were gracious and enjoyable. House white and rose wines were delightful and priced right.
We started with a grilled scallop "off the menu" appetizer that had us requesting bread to dip up the sauce left in the shells in which they were served. Beautifully seasoned.
Foie gras with homemade jam was equally as delicious--so much so that my friend was hard-pressed to share.
The grilled fish of the day was a local white fish served whole with grilled veggies and potatoes. Again, p e r f e c t l y seasoned! Fish cooked just right.
Can't recommend this place enough! May go back for lunch again today!

Located in the middle of the Old Town, good ambiance and not "rush time"! Good place...the Real Thing! And we also offer vegetarian dishes!!!
We ate at this restaurant at dinner and had the paella marinara (seafood) and found it to be ok but lacking any distinguishing flavors.

El Barroco "and" Cadaques ", two magical planets have been particularly related to the painter. Our hospitality, friendliness and atmosphere with each artist have created and try to keep accompanied by an excellent variety of Lebanese mezes, grilled fragrant spices of the East. In 1979, the great "Maestro" has created the logo "EL BARROCO" Once the "master" sent us a group of Chinese designer from San Francisco to make clothes for the opening night of the DALI Museum in Figueres. Dali reserved the "Patio" when waned to dine in el Barroco, always with his "Buick", wearing his black catalan sneakers with white spots, inviting hippies, gypsies and other people at its table to shock and provoke his distinguished guests, singing and dancing on the tables even while taking pictures from the event. After eating the grapes the Empordan, Dali was the first to leave the restaurant, to return a few days later. Dali's favorite foods - Steamed mussels taken near Cap de Creus Cap - Shoulder of lamb is Catalan. - Grilled lobster with garlic. - Grapes and Wine Muscat de l'Emporda. - The famous mineral water "Vichy Catalan." While simple Gala Menu was: - Poached Eggs. - Sardines in oil. In wintertime, between September and March, it's highly recommend to send us an email to double check if restaurant is open. Thank you. * Non Smoker Restaurant. * No Animals * Lebanese, Vegetarian and Vegan Food. * NO BAR, NO Snack
It was a delight to find a restaurant in Cadaques serving fresh, homecooked and inventive dishes, a real treat. We ordered lots of meze dishes that even my veggie phobic son could not stop eating, it was so delicious! The dessert was fantastic as well and could have had about three servings of it! Recommend.

I discovered this restaurant last year, and I loved it. This year we've come back and it's still delicious but there are less vegi options, so I was a bit disappointed.
Xaloc salat (tomatoe and and albocat) and Aubergine hummus, are simply delicious, but I don't really enjoyed the Sandwich bread.
The xocolat desert (botifarra de xocolata) was too sweet for me. However, all in all pretty good with a reasonable prices.
The staff are nice and friendly, and give you explanations on how the dishes are made.
Despite all, it will be one of my main options in Cadaqués.

The restaurant Compartir opened in April 2012 led by Mateu Casañas, Oriol Castro and Eduard Xatruch. As its name indicates, the cuisine is presented on central dishes for sharing. This transforms the concept of “appetisers” and takes it one step further, as well as creating a surprising and uninhibited ambience among the diners. The menu offers markedly modern dishes and also more traditional suggestions, such as rice dishes. The restaurant is in the historical centre of Cadaqués in an emblematic building that was refurbished at the beginning of the 18th century. One of its main attractive features is the large courtyard where visitors are welcomed and which is a clear example of the identity of this unique corner of the Costa Brava and the Creus Cape. The premises, the rapport with clients and the food, served in an informal and relaxed setting, all work together to transmit our philosophy to visitors, characterised by the search for clients’ greatest satisfaction in all aspects. Know-how that is passed on every day thanks to the team led in the kitchen by Marc, David, Víctor, Ander, Alejandro and Molins and in the dining room by Ramon, Roger, Sara, Marga and Tassi. Currently, Compartir is recognised in the most important gastronomic guides: Compartir has a rating of Two Suns in the Repsol Guide and is recommended by the Michelin Guide. In December 2014 Casañas, Castro and Xatruch’s second project was brought to fruition: the restaurant Disfrutar in Barcelona, with a different proposal to that of Compartir, clearly avant-garde and with a tasting menu format.
Definitely good food and excellent service. Expensive. If you're in Cadaques then Compartir is worth trying. In summer you can sit in a beautiful stone courtyard. There is no view of anything but the setting is nice. The restaurant gets busy during summer and has real buzz.

Tiny little hole in the wall joint.
Amazing, fresh italian food, sublime. My children were so excited to be eating such good pasta dishes and more that they delighted in every mouthful they had. The quality of cooking is high, fresh ingredients, incredible desserts, lovely waiters, great ambience. It was so good we went two days later! Highly recommended.
