I don't see reviews for any of Los Barriles' many restaurants or the local attractions for that matter. I live here and would be glad to provide more information about this great little town if you are interested.<br>[email protected]
Our tacos tour of Baja California Sud took us to Los Barriles yesterday where after a walk on the beach and and a swim we went in search of El Viejo. It was early afternoon and the place was busy but not so much that we couldn’t find a table for four. A friendly waitress approached us with menus. We all ordered two tacos ‘a la plancha’ (on the grill) - one fish, the other shrimp - and I have to say they were excellent, with a special nod going to the shrimp. Afterwards we browsed in the shop next door and enjoyed the casual ambiance of this friendly, laid-back community with its ATVs and bicycles.

Located next door to the Los Barriles Hotel. If there are addresses I didn't see any. Listed in the Baja Pony Express.
For being the busiest Bar/Restaurant in town it is very disappointing. The food, and service are so inconsistent which could be improved with better management.
They have probably the most disgusting/dirty bathrooms. Great place to stop for a cold beer once in a while but the more you visit all the above come into play. New ownership would be a place to start.

We went with another couple on a Saturday night. We ordered drinks, which came promptly, and dinner ordered shortly thereafter. Dinner came quite quickly. Two ordered fish of the day, dorado, and said it was excellent. Other two order fried shrimp and it was fresh and crispy fried. Veggie and fries as sides. Great meal!

I think I found the best prime rib in Mexico here.
Generous portion, not to spendy and very tender and tasty.
Had several different meals here and they were all good.
Good service, moderately priced food for Baja and nice atmosphere.
Place is easy to find right in town.

We brought our catch of the day by and they gave us several options for cooking. My garlic sauteed fish was wonderful as were the accompanying bean, rice, and salsa! Excellent!

El pirata (the Pirate) is like a hole in the wall, without the walls. Everything is cooked to order on the Mesquite fire right by the tables. The seafood is so fresh, it's practically wriggling when it goes on the grill. The proprietor is pretty gruff, but if try a couple of Spanish phrases, he warms up. The place looks like a common taco stand, but the food belies some serious culinary expertise. Do NOT expect fancy! It's simple, plastic tables and chairs. But the food is fantastic.

Vago's is a local favorite, it is located inside the Plaza del Pueblo in Los Barriles.
The it is a full service bar, but it's the Burger that keeps me coming back.
It is served with all the trimmings and tastes great...TIP: Don't miss the spicy
fries. They are not hot, and spicy is misleading. They are'seasoned', and turn
out to be crisp and tasty. I usually get the smaller size burger, as I find the big
one too big, but it depends on your appetite. Vago's has pool tables and yes,
it's a "Sports Bar"...but that is not the draw for me....it is the Burger. Enjoy !

You will be captured by the Chef's exquisite dishes, which you will be served at our al fresco dinning area. Our bar with a wide selection of drinks and wine will complement your meals or simply enjoy them on their own. Bar is opened during lunch and dinner (1:00PM-9:00PM)
Table of 4 for the super moon!....Excellent view...our waiter seated us at the best viewing table! Excellent service, and superb food...consistently excellent and our fav local restaurant. Great place for lunch, too. We had Shrimp pesto, shrimp linguini, and shrimp-stuffed rellano, PLUS a Greek salad to share.

Caffe Encinalito provides a great atmosphere paired with the best espresso in Baja, come experience excellence! try our "flojo" (pronounced flo-ho) the signature drink. Every other thursday is music night with great food and lovely music..
This was my favorite breakfast spot during our recent stay. I was joined at different times by several combinations of our party of seven. I'm not a coffee drinker, but it appears that they offer pretty much of what you would find in an American coffee shop. They also offer three types of smoothies and homemade bagels. The bagels come with plentiful cream cheese. Some days they also offer scones from the Doughnation Bakery. It's somewhat informal and it wasn't entirely clear if we were supposed to pay at the register or ask for the check so we did a little of both and it worked out fine. Lots of regulars and they were very open and welcomed questions and discussions about a little bot of everything.

We went during happy hour and had some spectacular nachos. People at the next table had shrimp cocktails. Very large portions with 2 for 1 beers and margaritas. Slightly expensive but still a good deal. Restaurants was on the beach and a ways out of town. They will make your guacamole at the table. Authentic
