In order to get to the restaurant, we took a little tram that went up the mountain to the historical town of Biella. This is so different than the newer part of Biella! Situated in a beautiful part of the old town, is Caffe Ristoro Stazione Cuco e la Civetta. Besides a restaurant, it's also an old bookstore. We sat on the Terrace which was fully packed after we left. Food was great, prices low. We had three courses: primi, secundo, dolci, drinks and coffee after and it cost us €46. Do try the melon with parma ham and the panna cotta (recipe of the owner's wife). Oh and beware: don't wear stiletto heels, they aren't a good match with the medieval pavement.

Made the reservation by internet which worked fine. From start to end the service was very good and staff seemed committed to making the quests feel welcome. For starters we had Sformatino di Zucchine su crema allo Zafferano (very very good) and Gnocchetti di patate spadellati al ragu di vitello e funghi porcine (very very good). For main dishes we had Cosciotto di vitello al forno (good) and Bianco di galetto al curry di riso venere (average). Wine also sold by the glass offering good choices. Pricing is fair and not expensive.

On the route from Turin to the Lago maggiore, we decided to make a little detour to visit Michelin Starred restaurant near Biella. The restaurant is located in the middle of Pollone. When coming from the village and descending to the restaurant, we had to pass an ugly 1970 hotel complex which does not do any justice to the beautifully restored 18th century stable complex in which the restaurant is now located. The stable complex, forming a cavernous space with arcades and a newer extension. In front of the restaurant, south-facing, there is now a Terrace, where we were shown to our table. On this Thursday Lunchtime it was quiet with only another couple having Lunch. The waitress was very friendly and courteous, and we wer given explanations about some of the dishes. We chose Fungi (from the specials of the day) and the Spaghetti con e pomodoro con zucchini as startrs and the again the same spaghetti and the lamb as mains. Excellent bread, and grissini were served as well. All dishes were of excellent quality, as expected for a Michelin starred restaurant. In fact this restaurant confirmed a (personal) rule of thumb, that the bread always, always is the best indicator for the efforts a chef makes. It is a reliable indicator for the overall cuisine. We shared a bottle of a red wine (Torrearsa). This was a very pleasant atmosphere excellent cuisine and the whole meal for less than €100!. We will come here again, when in the area.

A delicious place in every sense of word; food, location and hospitality. A beautiful location in the mountain looking down the flatland afar from the front garden. Here very precious, delicious and gorgeous goat cheese are produced and served. Certificated organic farm and its products are the must to try, in this location, surrounded by the pure nature.
Do not miss to try an assorted cheese platter!!!!

We had a very nice meal here in August 2012, the restaurant is hard to find and we needed directions from our B&B host (who is a friend of the owner). It is more like a private house from the outside, and admittance is down a garden path, but once inside there is a pleasant set of eating rooms, it all felt very cosy and friendly.
The food (as most food in Italy) was superb, with a local pasta and a Piedmontese speciality pudding, the menu was wide enough to give choice but not over the top, vegetarians can eat well here too. Highly recommended for a special and intimate meal in a nice setting, and not too expensive either, would definitely come here again...!

We were on a business trip and went there on the recommendation of the hotel. Tried a tasting menu of 6 courses. We asked for some changes and restaurant was very helpful in accommodating our requests. Everything was pure delicious. Following the waiters recommendation had a great Piomente wine. Overall price for the quality was fair. Had a great special gourmet night.

This is a great place for meat lovers !
They do have a la carte all kind of different meat.
We had carpaccio (thin sliced raw meat), two different kind of tartare (also raw meat), a beef filet which was excellent, and a fiorentina (a big t-bone steak). Service is nice and accurate. Great selection of wine. The Nebbiolo we had was super.

Interesting restaurant in the local Menabrea brewery. Similar to german beer Gardens, this place offers a huge variety of down-to-earth dishes. Local, italian, german and international cuisine. Following a friend's suggestion we went for meat and burgers as main course, with some starters. Everything was really good, starting from the ingredients. And of course paired with their beers, excellent. Friendly service.
Don't forget to make a reservation.

A nice place ruined by the grandma owner arrogant attitude. The food was average and the bill too expensive. I suggest not to go there
