A 10 minute walk from our resort, we decided to try another restaurant in our proximity. It was full outside but decided to be seated inside to avoid waiting. We ordered our meals comprising 4 large beef burgers and a mixed kebab. We had to pay extra for the chips (fries). The definition of a beef burger for the Luna restaurant implied a beef patty and nothing else on your plate. However they did accommodate our request to have some form of a bun to accompany the sparsely populated plate. We waited.... and waited.... and waited.... after one hour I asked if there was a problem. It seemed they had difficulty coping with the full restaurant. We eventually got our meals after 1 hr. and 15 minutes.... I had always thought that a beef burger and a kebab (brochette) should not take longer than 20 minutes on a busy night.... anyway, an exercise definitely not worth repeating! A disaster as far as timing and quality was concerned.

We ate here twice while we were staying in Umag. It's on the main road between Savudrija and Umag. Our family has tried pizzas, steak, and fresh pasta with seafood. All great. Pizza comes quickly, the kitchen cooks everything from fresh, therefore much slower - but was worth the wait. All the food we watched come out was well presented. Costs vary from £6/£7 for a pizza to £18 for steak and up for sharing fish dishes. Soft drinks around £2.50 for juice / fizzy. Wine £4ish a glass.
They don't rush you, you have to ask for puddings (they have pancakes, lemon sorbet and tiramisu- although not in the menu) and the bill.
The Terrace is lovely, with a light breeze, def needed in the heat.
What a lovely place to visit - they get busy around 7.30/8 - 9.30 so better to come early or late, they were turning people away in the busy period.

Best things about this place is it's walking distance from the kempinski and it has a fresh pizza oven.
Average food, beer garden atmosphere very casual and not expensive
Great for a cheap night out away from the hotel but there are better an additional km away which are worth the effort

One of the best outside Seating to have a coffee or cake in Portoroz. Used to be synonym for best cakes. Maybe we are spoiled, but chocolate cake is really very average compared to what competition is offering. Unimaginative, poor in chocolate but rich in price....coffee and ice cream yes, cakes are just very average and not worth the price.

This restaurant is a little off the beaten track but well worth seeking out. On a sunny autumn Saturday it was surprisingly empty but we were warmly welcomed. We sat on the Terrace overlooking the very pretty garden leading down to the sea soaking up the Sunshine. For starters we shared home-made ravioli stuffed with very fresh white fish. This was followed by a very good halibut with side dish washed down by a good local malvasia. Service couldn't have been better and the food tasty and reasonably priced. Altogether a most enjoyable experience.

The chef Fabricio Vežnaver did for us a wonderful meal full of well designer experiences. Every plate has lots of dedication and creativity. My first taste of Croatian food wad made here and I'll remember it forever. Thank you !

It was a freezing night in February and we were the only table. The service was flawless and the wines delightful. From the amuse bouche of tasty mousses and a fresh crab salad to a large fish for the 4 of us... Succulent and fresh from the sea... And a sensational dessert. It was an absolute pleasure.

We loved the place : a quiet and small harbour with its fishing boats reveals a great charm. Transparent clear water; you can get down over the rocks on the sea level and take a bath before going to the restaurant. Porto Salvore has a very nice porch where we had our lunch. Very fresh and tasty seafood . we tried different dishes ( both raw and cooked fish and shellfish ). Very good house wine ( malvazija istarska ) by a local small winemaker. Overall a very good culinary experience. A little bit overpriced.

E il ristorante dentro la marina ACI di Umago
We were enroute to Venice and stopped for a couple of nights at the ACI Marina. As mentioned in a previous post there is always a slight hesitation about Marina restaurants .. this is certainly not the case here.... everything was very good.
We tasted the fish pate and seafood salad which were excellent and then progressed to main courses which included the Istrian meat platter, pork medallions, sea bass and tuna steak.. All excellent.
We couldn't leave without some dessert and those chosen were chocolate mousse and pannacotta.
I would have no hesitation recommending this restaurant .. Good good and wine and a wonderful outlook over the marina.

If you want to eat tasty, good quality meal, be greeted and advised properly, visit Edda Tavern, you will not regret it.
Handicapped by inattractive location (sitting on the local busy road), one should not pick it for a romantic atmosphere, or stunning seaview.
But whatever the owner recommends (be it pasta, seafood, or a pizza), you will enjoy and receive a fair, quite modest bill. Worth mentioning: the owners are fishermen family, most of the fish offered is their prey.
