If you really want to enjoy good food in the Bludenz area this is the place to go -since years my favorite restaurant and never was I disappointed. They have rooms with half board as well -but I never checked those out. If the rooms are like the food this is a great place. The food was excellent and the portions are large - the side dished come in extra plates so in case you wish another serving ... I recommend a reservation as the restaurant is well know among locals and often the tables are all gone.. calcultate 1 1/" -2 hours for the dinner...

We tried the restaurant based on tripadvisor descriptions and were happy that it lived up to the good recommendations.
Our understanding is that the menu changes regularly. When we were there the focus was on fish. The menu described where the fish was sourced from and they obviously take care over choosing their suppliers.
All the main courses were well prepared, tasty and accompanied by generous side dishes of risotto. Desserts included some classics and were also enjoyable.
The warm ambience in the restaurant reflects the approach of the chef-patron and his wife who manages the front of house. The service was just right, friendly and attentive. A nice touch was that their son came over to talk to us and explain (in perfect English) the wine list. This has some very good Austrian wines and an impressive selection of digestifs from the region.
We really enjoyed the evening and felt it was good value for money.

Had lunch here and enjoyed the variety of food (including desserts) that were on offer. It was very hassle free as well.

We had dinner here one night in January and were pleasantly surprised by the restaunrant/gasthaus. Good food: steaks, trout or other 'traditional' choices. The open fire was buring nicely and it was a very nice evening. If there is anything "negative' to say it would be that there is also a separate "smoking section" inside. Although it did not bother us at all in the non smoking section it surpirsed us a little that there even was a smoking section these days. Anyway, we would definitively go back here for a nice meal. We coud not enjoy the view as it was night time so maybe a visit in future in Summer time is on the cards.

We had lunch there while skiing, good place which has two sections, self service and serviced. Food is good, Deserts are excellent. Bit better then the mainstream food up in the large restaurant.

The Gasthof zum Kreuz is situated in the center of Schuns' small fussganger zone (walking area). The lower level of this gasthaus is a more informal restaurant which has a more limited menu and, as other reviewers have noted, allows smoking. The upper level is traditionally decorated with an eye towards the preservation of a really attractive dining area. The night I ate at zum Kreuz, dining parties were evenly split between those sharing fondue (broth and cheese) and those ordering separate entrees. I had a local fresh cheese filled dumpling that was basically a Tyrolian ravioli and a local beer. My dumpling was clearly homemade and the filling had excellent flavor. The menu includes a hassenpfeffer that was supposedly Ernest Hemingway's favorite dish when he ate at zum Kreuz during his sojourn in Schrunns.

The decor, the service, the menu, the view -- it's all here! Bartholomaberg is just above the beautiful village of Schruns in the wide-sunny Montafon valley.

We've been there this month. The road to go to that place is already fantastic. Food is typical Austrian but well done. Service is efficient and friendly. You just need to go there during your stay in the region !

First meal in Austria and what a great place - so personably and such delicious food. Of course the schnitzel is a must be also their salads are great and really great value in a great environment - packed but with very accomodating staff - Reservations are recommended.
I'd definitely come back. Check out the photos. We ate their twice in our 3 day hike in the area.
