Ambergris Caye hovers in a vacation sweet spot: just enough amenities to make it exciting, but not so overdeveloped that you’re tripping over flip-flopped tourists. A mangrove swamp is the eye of this white beach island, the largest in Belize, and golf carts are the main form of transportation along the sandy roads. Reef divers drool over the Belize Barrier Reef and the Blue Hole, a 400-feet deep circle of limestone that teems with angelfish, elkhorn coral, cleaner shrimp and stalactites.

Lovely atmosphere off the beaten path! Skip the bread offered at the beginning....the rest of the food options were quite good.

On our first night on the island, we were all starving and didn’t have a clue where to go for dinner. While driving down the road in our golf cart, we smelled something amazing and pulled over to investigate. They were grilling jerk chicken outdoors, and our noses were spot on. We had a choice of grilled snapper or the chicken, served with red beans and rice and cole slaw. When we couldn’t decide, he offered to make combo plates for us. Most of us opted for that, and those who didn’t wished they had. Everything was amazing, but most of us loved the chicken best of all. For dessert, those in our party who weren’t already stuffed enjoyed delicious, moist banana bread. Highly recommend!

Went to Caroline’s for dinner the other night. She moved about a block and a half west from where I last visited. The new location is a little smaller but nicer inside. Cute little bright yellow building just north of the west side of the airport. The staff are very friendly-Making sure you are getting what you need and that you are satisfied. I had the jerk snapper and my son had the jerk shrimp. The jerk sauce was amazing so it was nice to have a nice portion of coconut rice to soak up every last drop. I reviewed this place about four years ago and I’ve been back a few times since then but I thought they earned another five stars again.

Family owned authentic hand made pupusas, fajitas, civiche made to order. Tostades, carne asada, Belizean rice and beans and delicious burritos.
This is a local restaurant with great food, generous portions and inexpensive prices. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had never eaten pupusas before, and needed some help knowing what to order. It was great to get to watch them being cooked on the grill outside.

My boyfriend and I ate at this restaurant twice during our stay in San Pedro. The food here is excellent and the prices are insane. We sampled one of everything and got two cokes for $6 US. I would recommend a fry jack. If you’re on the fence, just give it a try. You will not regret it.

Belizean breakfast place with a local vibe. All the traditional Belizean breakfast items. Our signature item our Belizean meat pies, we have fried jacks johnnycakes, creole bread, creole bun waffles, flour tortillas. Everything is made fresh daily we have local meats from Belize.
We wanted to have some of the lobster meat pies but unfortunately they were no longer making those since the season was ending in a few days--guess they did not want to have some left over. We did get the meat pies and they were delicious.

It's difficult to find juices of real fruits. Usually they say it's fresh and then it's not. This place has super-fresh ingredients, a big variety of smoothies and juices and super fast gentleman preparing all of it.
